help you prepare for this internship and have the right expectations.

Read it through with attention

*sorry for the ones who already got earlier into the country and couldn’t read it before arrival

Electronics Bring photo camera, video camera, laptop and any other

electronic you need in order to do your job properly.

Take care of them and don’t leave them unsupervised.

Communication Bring a proxy Cellphone in which you can use a normal sim card, (not mini, or micro), in order to buy a Romanian cell-

phone number.

Buy a SIM card when you arrive in the airport, or even later – we recommend Orange or Vodafone

We have a partnership with Keep Calling. If you sign in HERE, you will receive international minutes to call home

Clothes Summer and autumn clothes:

•for mountain: jacket, long sleeve blouse,

•for seaside: swim suit, towel, flip-flops

•for travelling: comfortable shoes – sneakers, jacket for rain,

•Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses

Papers •Medical insurance required

•If you have visa bring the invitation letter in order to pass easily at the airport custom

•You will sign a voluntary contract, so please read the JD carefully

•Bring your Student card – you may get discounts, but rarely

Security -Keep most of your money on your card, don’t carry around a lot of cash

-Have a medical insurance in case something happens, so you don’t have to pay the hospital/medical care

-Don’t wander alone at night, mostly if you are drunk, STICK to the group

-Don’t talk to strangers if they don’t inspire you trust, better leave the area

-Don’t lend your phone, camera, money to strangers and don’t leave it unsupervised or under the supervision of a stranger

-Don’t get into fights with anybody – there’s a change you’ll get beaten up. No worries, it doesn’t usually happen, unless you ask for it

-Police in Romania is not like in American movies, if you lost something or need them to solve something for you, it will most probably not happen…

Bia’s advice

-Live in a place of , not of expectations – this way you will consciously free yourself

-Be proactive – help the organizers and be solution-focused for your problems, don’t expect for someone to resolve everything for you, after-all
