Banff, CanadaUNESCO World Heritage Site, Banff National Park, is one of the world’s spectacular destinations with unparalleled awe-inspiring mountain scenery. Outdoor activities are endless in the area with kayaking, white water rafting and hiking available for the adventurous or hot springs and footpaths for a more relaxed way to explore the area. Amongst the scenic region is the town of Banff with restaurants, boutique shops and museums for those wanting to immerse themselves in the art and history of Banff as well as the great outdoors.

10

Denali National Park, AlaskaThe sheer expanse of wilderness, the solitude of Denali National Park’s single road, and, its status as one of the last true intact subarctic ecosystems make Denali one of the best places in the Alaska to view wildlife in their natural habitat. The varied and vast landscape is home to grizzly bears, moose, caribou, Dall sheep and wolves, as well as endangered birds. Wild animals roam as they have for millennia through unspoiled backcountry of Taiga forest, alpine tundra, and snow-capped peaks.

Hubbard Glacier, AlaskaHubbard Glacier, located in Yakutat Bay and Disenchantment Bay, Alaska, is the largest glacier in North America, with a calving front that is more than nine kilometres wide and a main source for the glacier located over 120 kilometres inland. Named after Gardiner Greene Hubbard, the first president of the National Geographic Society, it has been a very active glacier, experiencing two major surges in the past 30 years. Travellers have a chance to watch this spectacular glacier calve massive ice chunks into the water creating large icebergs.

11

Juneau, AlaskaAlaska is called the Land of the Midnight Sun, and Juneau, its capital, shines with a wide selection of delicious dining and native Alaskan art shopping. Juneau is one of the most beautiful capital cities in America, with once-in-a-lifetime shore excursions. The majestic Mendenhall Glacier sprawls down from Juneau Icefield, which provides an icy cap to the area's rip-roaring scenery. The animals that inhabit this area are just as inspiring as the landscapes from families of bears patrolling the riverbanks to Pacific humpbacks migrating from Hawaii's waters to feast on the krill rich, icy water.

Ketchikan, AlaskaKetchikan is a thrilling introduction to wild and wonderful Alaska, sitting at the southern gateway to the Inside Passage's famed route of larger than life scenery. Visitors to Ketchikan will be intrigued by its rich Native American heritage, which includes the world’s oldest collection of totem poles at Totem Heritage Center. Home to grizzly and black bears - as well as cruising whales and swimming seals - the wildlife spotting opportunities in this majestic corner of the world are nothing short of spectacular.
