of Tractors, Machinery & Goods on behalf of The Cook Family of Lenton Vale Ltd ~

A superb setting for the sale attracted a huge crowd of buyers both in the field and on the phone who pushed the top lot of the day to £41,000 for the ’65 plate John Deere 6115M c/w loader going off to its new home near Kingsbridge in South Devon. The ’16 plate John Deere 6150M also reached £41,000 and sold to one buyer near the Devon/Somerset border. The 3rd John Deere 5070M c/w loader on a ’60 plate saw huge interest with the sale price of £17,000 achieved and going off to Wiltshire.
A well maintained line up of farm machinery sold to a top call of £9,600 given for the Claas rake and staying fairly local to a Winkleigh based farm partnership, whilst lot 174 being the JCB digger hit £7,900 and going away to Witheridge. Merrymeet near Liskeard in South Cornwall was the end destination for the John Deere mower/condition at £6,700 with the Sherbourne spreader going off to Tavistock at a very respectable £6,200.
The very clean Marshall slurry tanker hit £5,100 with the Tomahawk straw chopper going home with Nick Bond of Torrington at £5,000. Within the smaller lots the Cowcare foot trim crush hit £2,250 and ATL feeders and re-lays at £400 whilst the pick of the wood gate posts ranged from £70-£110. Still plenty of interest for cattle feeders with the best to £90 with 3 small Granite rollers at £65 each.
A mass of ‘outside’ lots saw a small dispersal of workshop & garden equipment from Barnstaple top at £140 for a leaf sweep. Phil Middleton said goodbye to his ‘E reg’ Zector tractor at £4,100 going off to Barnstaple whilst Messrs Elworthy sold their Marshall bale trailer at £3,700. Messrs Simmons of South Molton sold their Graham Edwards trailer c/w decks at £2,500 then saw the Claas 250 rota cut round baler hit £2,300 going off to Exmoor with the Wyatt family. Mark Kiff saw his very tidy red grain trailer reach £2,500 with the pick of 30 lots of feeders and gates in from one closing down farm near Winkleigh reach £440.
Speaking after the sale, James Morrish of Kivells said “What a fantastic day! A huge crowd from all parts of the South West filled the car park along with the sale field and
bid well from start to finish. We wish both the Cook family and the incoming tenant all
the very best for the future”.

ALSO dispersal from one farm to include; Siromer tractor c/w loader (250hrs), topper, cultivator, cattle crush, large selection of yard gates, feeders and hurdles as well as new scaffolding tower (7m), roofing ladders and tools etc. Dispersal of Stationary engines including Bamford 1.5hp, Petter Junior 3hp, International 1905 and a very rare Lion 2.25hp (open crank, built in May 1905 and lived in Mid/North Cornwall all its life. All engines are sold in GWO and have been stored in the dry, only selling due to ill health.
