Chen Shu-chu
Chen Shu-chu sells vegetables at a market stall [ ]
in Taiwan. She was born in 1950 and is 60 years old.
She eats rice with soy sauce three times a day as she looks
after her money carefully. Each vegetable she sells costs
HK$3, she has to sell a lot of vegetables to live. She
works hard all day.
Even though she is poor, she has donated [ ]
nearly HK$2.5 million to charity [ ]. All the money
she has earned during her life has been donated to many
childrens charities. She has also helped build a library at
a school. She is now becoming famous [ ] around theworld for
being a caring and generous [ ] woman. She
has received an award from TIME Magazine and has met
the President of Taiwan.

Princess Diana
Diana, Princess of Wales was born in
the UK in 1961 and died in a tragic [ ]
car crash in 1997. She was married to
Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and had
two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
She worked hard most of her life for
many charities. The most well-known were
against landmines [ ] and for many
childrens hospitals. She met many world
leaders and other important people like
Mother Teresa to help the poor and needy.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Mozart was born in 1756 in Austria in
Europe. At the age of 3, he learned how to
play the piano. By the age of 5, he started
writing his own music. As a child, he
travelled around Europe performing concerts

When he was older, he became a
composer [ ] and composed over 600
pieces of work. He could also play the
violin [ ]. He died at the age of 35 from
illness [ ]. Even though he had played
music for some of the most important peoplein Europe, he died a
very poor man.

Pope Benedict XVI
A German priest called Joseph Alois
Ratzinger became the 265thPope in 2005. He
was born in 1927 and is now 78 years old.
He is the head of the Catholic Church.He travels around
different countries
meeting many different people. He wears
white clothes most of the time, but also wears
red shoes. Sometimes he wears a red hat too.
He prays many times a day and talks to many
people about how to solve problems in our
world today.

Yang Li WeiHe was born in 1965 and is 45 years old.
He became the first Chinese astronaut [ ].
He used to be a pilot flying fast airplanes before
becoming an astronaut.
The name of his spacecraft [ ] was
Shenzhou 5. He ate packets of shredded pork
with garlic or chicken and rice with Chinesetea.
In the middle of the journey, the television
showed Yang waving the Chinese and United
Nations flags inside his spacecraft.
He landed in Inner Mongolia [ ] in
China after going around the Earth 14 times and
travelling 600,000 kilometres.

Bishop John Tong Hon
He is the Bishop of the Catholic Church in
Hong Kong. He was born in Hong Kong in 1939
and is 71 years old. He has been a Bishop since
2009 after Cardinal Joseph Zen retired [ ].

teaches in a college. He also writes many books.
