INGS – Wismar International Graduation Services GmbH – a subsidiary company of Wismar University – University of Applied Sciences (Germany) that offers distance learning programmes and

certifies further education for working professionals. The study programmes are offered in the fields of economy, technology and design through which you can gain a higher public education degree such as a Bachelor, Diploma (FH) or Master.The distance learning centre at Wismar University was founded in 1952. WINGS was built upon this and was set up in April 2004. The primary tasks of WINGS are to develop, organise and market the distance learning and further educa-tional programmes under the academic expertise of Wismar University.Wismar University is an advanced and innovative education and research institution having over 100-years of academic excellence. It is an Internatio-nal University that is practice and business oriented with over 7,000 students studying both on-campus and through distance learning.Every distance learning student is enrolled as a regular student at Wismar University and is extensively and individually supported by WINGS based on his/her particular needs. This strengthens our concept of optimising the students’ needs to work in their profession whilst studying and combines the following 4 components: self-study, seminars over selected weekends during the semester, telephone conferences and access to the online-campus data-base.Due to several contacts in Europe, the Baltic region, America, Latin America, Asia and in particular South-East-Asia, a variety of intercultural characteristics can be distinctively found in our research and teaching methods. he Master’s of Business Systems is a distance learning programme presented by the Hochschule Wismar - University of Applied Sciences: Technology, Business and Design. Upon successfully completing the

he distance-learning programme Master of Business Systems is a great opportunity for technical and management staff at SMEs or others from large companies to acquire scientifie-based expertise in corporate infor-

mation technology in just four semesters while still working.This is not a programming course. Instead you will be taught to analyse, evalu-ate and make strategic decisions based on knowledge of the latest information technology techniques. As a graduate you will be in the position to assume leadership roles and / or management positions in planning, strategic development, product deve-lopment, production, general management and marketing where knowledge of current knowledge-based solutions will enable you to boost organisational performance. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the academic Master of Busi-ness Systems degree. This degree will entitle you to continue with a doctorate study in accordance with PhD regulations at respective universities and provi-des or entry into higher employment positions.

he study modules and master’s thesis are evaluated according to inter-national standards. A total of 90 credits (ECTS) are awarded. The study programme includes 12 modules over three semesters, each module is

worth 5 ECTS. The fourth semester is dedicated exclusively to writing your master thesis. The programme is taught in English. 8he distance-learning programme Master‘s of Business Systems is spread out over four semesters and is intended to supplement your exsisting employment. The study programme combines self-study phases with

day on-site seminars. Students must be present at the study location of their choice for only three weekends per semester. Generally, the examination takes place at the end of the seminar day in the form of a 120-minute exam. Alterna-tively, the examinations are prepared as homework and presented at the lec-tures with project work concerning real a case studies are presented out in site.At the beginning of the semester, you will receive a study package that covers that particular semester with all the relevant teaching material. Due to the inte-grated self-study, you can decide when you work on the contents of the study topics. The advantage of this setup is, you retain full control of your study and its impact with your professional activities.

SeLf-DIreCTeD STUDy

At the start of each semester you will begin with your own self-studying. The written teaching material is prepared by the module leader and is included in the semester fee alongside the specialised literature, textbooks and individu-ally-configured study guides. With this traditional teaching material, we would like to ensure local, temporal and technical independence of your distance lear-ning. It is recommended that you should allocate an average of 10 to 15 hours per week for self-studying.

SeMINarS

Most of the eight-hour seminars provide additional revision of the contents of the study material. The study groups with approx. 20 participants allows an opportunity for group and project work to take place. In the one-day event you can discuss ongoing issues and elaborate on any problematic areas with indivi-dual subjects. The events often ends with an exam relivant to the current topic.

STUD.IP

As a distance-learning student of the University of Wismar we also provide you with an online University of Wismar communication platform – StudIP – for the duration of your studies. This Internet platform is a central study-accompa-nying communications medium that facilitates interactive and provides contact with fellow students, lecturers and your personal tutor.

he semester fee of EUR 2,500 covers all study-related services. This in-cludes study materials (study notes and technical literature), examina-tion services as well as seminar events, including catering. On request

you can pay the semester fees in instalments (EUR 442 per month).

Our distance-learning program is designed to meet the needs of working pro-fessionals. You can complete the distance-learning course alongside your job and retain a steady fi nancial footing. The German government encourages further education through individual tax relief. Depending on your personal income and your professional situation, you can claim the distance education costs as professional or special expenses tax and receive full or partial reim-bursement. The Master of Business Systems is a new course aimed at improving the per-formance and competitiveness of organisations by introducing 21st century information and knowledge-management techniques into their management structures.

programme Master‘s of Business Systems you must meet the following entry requirements:

• University degree (Bachelor,Master, Diplom (FH), Diplom)obtained from a domestic or international university, pre-ferably with an economics or business background; aswell as

• At least one year’s relevant work experience* after thefi rst professional qualifi cation

• Applicants whose native language is not English have todemonstrate, through appropriate documentation, that they can complete their studies in English.

* Students who have a six-semester degree, which is valued at a total of 180 ECTS points, have to prove an additional 1.5 years of relevant work experience.
