Step One:a. Log on to www.wcccd.edub. Click on Web-Gate c. Click on Enter Web-GateStep Two:a. Enter your Wayne County Community College DistrictStudent Identification Number or social security number(optional) in the user ID box.

Please Note:This is a 9 (nine) digit code beginningwith the A and two zeros followed by six digits. (i.e. A00-------). Your 9-digit student identification number was providedto you during the admission process. b. For first time users, enter your date of birth(MMDDYY) in the box next to PIN. For returningusers, enter your personal (six digit) PIN.

c. Click on LoginStep Three:(For first time users)Re-enter the old PIN (your six digit date of birth(MMDDYY)Enter your new PIN (a personal six digit number)Re-enter your new PIN again. Click Login.

Step Four: (For first time users)a. In the box next to Enter Question: Type a questionthat only you will be able to answer.

b. In the box next to Answer: Type the answer to thequestion you entered.

c. Click on Submit

Step Five: Click on StudentStep Six: Click on RegistrationStep Seven: Click On Add or Drop Classes

Step Eight: Next to Select a Term: The current termwill automatically appear.

Step Nine: In the first box under CRN, enter the fivedigit CRN (Course Reference Number). The CRN foreach course appears in the first column of the AcademicClass Schedule under the CRN heading. Use only thefirst five digits. The remaining three digits are thesection number. Click on Submit Changes.

Step Ten: Click on the Tuition Fee Assessment link atthe bottom of the page and proceed with payment(checking account, savings account or credit card.)

Congratulations!You have successfully registered! The following pageconfirming your course registration (Web Registered)details will appear. Click on the Tuition Fee Assessment linkat the bottom of the page and proceed to Credit CardPayment.These links appear at the bottom of the respectivepages.

COLLEGE CALENDARSummer 2014

Important Registration InformationYou must have earned a passing grade for all pre-requisite courses or you will not be allowed to register for the next sequential course. Inaddition to meeting the official admissions/registration requirements, you must select a program of study. For certain career programs you mustcomplete an official Program Admission Form which may be obtained from the Campus Academic Officer or the campus Admissions Office aftercompleting all course pre-/co-requisites.

You are officially registered when the registration staff enters your classes or you click the submit button on Web-Gate.You are then responsible for all tuition and fees incurred including the non-refundable registration fee.

You are to pay at least 65% of your tuition at the time of registration. Students registering online will also have the option of paying online. Youmust officially withdraw from your class(es) within the refund period to be eligible for any refund. The unpaid balance of tuition and fees is stilldue when you drop a course after the refund period ends. Therefore, any course dropped after the 50% refund must be paid in FULL.

ONLINEOnline courses are delivered via the Internet. The Internet links faculty and students throughthe computer, whether they are in the same city or on opposite sides of the world. Onlinecourses offer you rigorous, high quality instruction and the flexibility of accessing themanytime, anywhere. Of course, students must participate fully in online courses, and arerequired to complete assignments and meet deadlines. The major advantage of an onlinecourse is its continuous format which allows students to work at the times that best suit them.You can access your course 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

LIVE ONLINELive online courses are delivered via the computer at specified days and times. Text, graphics,and audio are sent to the students’ computers simultaneously for online collaboration andlearning with an instructor. Course sessions may be archived for review or makeup of missedclass sessions. You should purchase a headset with a microphone.

ONLINE PLATFORMThe online platform is the Blackboard distance education platform. Blackboard courses do notrequire any special software. You must have a Java-enabled browser, such as Internet Explorer.

Interactive Television makes it possible for students to participate in courses they may not havebeen able to take because of travel restrictions or low enrollments. The WCCCD InteractiveTelevision system currently allows students to take live classes by videoconferencing at allcampus locations. Generally, instructors rotate between ITV locations, providing students withthe opportunity of live contact.

Hybrid is a term used interchangeably with the term “blended learning”. The model of coursedesign combines traditional, face-to-face class time with online and out of class course work.The degree to which the design of hybrid courses utilizes traditional classroom and onlinelearning environment varies, being largely dependent on the subject matter and overall natureof a course.

BLACKBOARD ORIENTATION (Choose from one of two options)Students taking their first online class must successfully complete a mandatory orientationeither online or face-to-face.
