1. A bus travelling at 65km/h takes 75 min less than a truck travelling at 52km/h from Johnson to Portsville. What is the distance between the two cities?

52x 52 x

65(x - 1.25) = 52x

65x - 81.25 = 52x-65x -65x

-81.25 = -13xx = 6.25

The distance is 52(6.25) = 325km

4(3x-2) - 4x = 56

12x - 8 - 4x = 56

8x = 64

x = 8km/hr
