Action steps: The councils in your district should schedule a First Degree before the end of the fraternal year. Be sure that any Membership Documents (Forms #100) are forwarded to Membership Records before June 30 to allow time for processing. Help your councils focus on bridging fraternal years by electing or re-electing new officers by June 15, submitting the Report of Officers Chosen for the Term (#185) by June 30, and holding an officer change-over meeting. Encourage each grand knight-elect to hold an organizational meeting early in the summer to ensure that activities and programs begin early in fraternal year. If you are stepping down as district deputy or are being reassigned to another district, be sure to meet with your successor to brief him on the current status of the district. THANK YOU! Bridging fraternal years takes coordination between the retiring, transitioning and newly-elected/ appointed council officers. As district deputy, you are uniquely equipped to help your councils: Conduct effective officer change-over meetings to bridge fraternal years Prioritize actions to earn the Star Council Award Ensure that your council’s accomplishments and goals are publicized to your parish and community. These actions should put council leaders in the best position to help themselves and your district to succeed. For assistance please contact [email protected] . BRIDGING FRATERNAL YEARS REMINDER – STAR DISTRICT AWARD To qualify for the Star District Award, you must attain 100% or more of your district membership quota and district insurance quota. In addition, at least one of your active councils has to attain one of the levels of Star Council. For the most up-to-date information on your quotas, please log on to Officers Online. Award winners receive a wall plaque and a Star District lapel pin, and the district deputies who earn the Star District Award are entered into a drawing to attend the Supreme Convention.
