     QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES OF THE  

    ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT  (Job Description)  

     QUALIFICATIONS:  

    Missouri certi�cation with supervisory and administrative experience.    

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  As outlined in the contract for services.  

     REPORTING AND SUPERVISION:

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:  The Assistant Superintendent will provide leadership in the development and implementation of curriculum,  instruction, and sta� development.  

     PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    The Assistant Superintendent will:  a. Provide leadership in the development of a curriculum for all subject areas for all ages of student for  

    which the Fulton Board of Education provides educational services  b. Provide leadership in district-wide instructional matters  c. Direct district-wide testing program  d. Collaborate with other district leaders to assure district-wide sta� development  e. Assure that the performance-based evaluation process is continually updated and implemented  

    properly  f. Assure compliance with Title IX rules and regulations  g. Assure compliance with 504 rules and regulations  h. Coordinate all opening of school activities, (mentoring move to Director of Professional  

    Development/Communications)  i. Coordinate/support the district-wide Guidance Program  j. Work in cooperation with sta� to develop school calendar  k. Coordinate the MSIP review process  l. Assist the superintendent in personnel matters, and  m. Perform other duties as may be assigned by superintendent.

     QUALIFICATION AND DUTIES OF THE  

    DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY  (Job Description)  

     QUALIFICATIONS:  

    Hold a Master of Science Degree in Education with an emphasis in technology; or hold �ve to seven years  experience in the �eld of technology and classroom teaching experience.  

     Have extensive networking and telecommunications experience.  

     Have demonstrated ability to obtain grants.  

     TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  

    As outlined in the contract for services.

     POSITION SYNOPSIS:  

    Responsible for the organization, management, implementation, and evaluation of the technology program.    

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Director of Technology will:  

    a. Implement the Fulton School District’s technology program  b. Chair and supervise the work of the District Technology Team  c. Procure and coordinate the appropriate in-service training to meet sta� needs  d. Provide immediate and long-term software and hardware support for all technologies including, but  

    not limited to, installation, trouble-shooting, and upgrading  e. Review hardware and software to determine the feasibility of upgrading and repurposing existing  

    technology  f. Provide periodic information to the sta� about available software  g. Schedule and implement preventive and corrective maintenance for all technologies  h. Prepare an annual budget and other district reports required  i. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of equipment and software in the district  j. Coordinate and introduce appropriate technologies into the curriculum  k. Schedule one or more meetings per year with each grade level or department to maintain adequate  

    communications concerning the technological aspects of the district’s curriculum  l. Work an eleven month contract  m. Report directly to the Assistant Superintendent  n. Coordinate all software purchases to avoid duplication and ensure consistency throughout the district

    QUALIFICATION AND DUTIES OF THE  TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST  

    (Job Description)    

    QUALIFICATIONS:    Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or  similar �eld experience equivalent (preferred); Certi�cations in current technology systems, and/or similar �eld  experience; Strong working knowledge of computer systems, hardware and software, computer peripherals,  and ability to diagnose problems; good problem-solving skills, analytical, and team-working skills; excellent  communication and interpersonal skills; an openness to learning new technologies; Possession of a valid  driver’s license.  

     TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    REPORTING AND SUPERVISION:  Reports directly to the Director of Technology  

     POSITION SYNOPSIS:  

    To provide assistance to teachers, students, and other district employees by repairing computers,  Chromebooks, peripherals, and working with other technology sta� to keep hardware and software working  for the bene�t of teachers, students, and administrators.  

     PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    The Technology Support Specialist will:  a. Diagnose hardware and operating system problems and repair.  b. Clean computer equipment and peripherals.  c. Install hardware and software for proper operation.  d. Collaborate and work with other Technology Department personnel on various Technology-related  

    projects.  e. Con�gure and set up printers, projectors, interactive whiteboards, and other computer peripherals to  

    work e�ectively and e�ciently for various instructional purposes.  f. Maintains the district’s technology inventory and Anti-Virus software.  g. Pick-up and Deliver computer equipment to and from schools throughout the district.  h. Manages assigned work orders in the district’s Helpdesk Ticketing software.  i. Assists with other technology-related problems and equipment operations when possible.  j. Provide emergency assistance as required to maintain district technology services.  k. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES OF THE   ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL  

    (Job Description)    

    CERTIFICATION FOR POSITION:  Missouri certi�cation as an elementary principal and possess appropriate supervisory of administrative  experience.  

     TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    REPORTING AND SUPERVISION:  See institutional organization chart.  

     POSITION SYNOPSIS:  

    The elementary principal will assume direct responsibility for the total educational program and other  activities within the building.  

     PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    1. Student Management  The principal will:  

    a. Assign students to appropriate classrooms  b. Monitor and report student progress  c. Maintain appropriate, accurate student records  d. Maintain appropriate student conduct  e. Encourage and promote good citizenship  f. Coordinate regular, advanced, and special education programs for individual students, and  g. Provide opportunities for students to participate in activities designed to promote social and emotional  

    growth.  2. Faculty  

    The principal will:  a. Participate in the selection process of certi�cated sta�  b. Assign teachers to appropriate teaching stations within the building  c. Evaluate teacher performance in accordance with district procedures and policies  d. Provide necessary supervision and support for the teaching sta�  e. Communicate district policies to teachers  f. Involve teachers in the decision-making process when appropriate  g. Provide appropriate professional growth opportunities  h.     3. Instruction/Curriculum  The principal will:  

    a. Provide leadership and supervision of all instructional areas in accordance with district philosophy and  curricular guidelines, seeking ways to gain instructional improvement  

    b. Interpret testing information so as to facilitate instructional improvement  c. Communicate district and building expectations to faculty, parents, students, and community  d. Assist in securing and distributing appropriate supplemental materials  e. Promote cooperation and coordination among classroom teachers and special program teachers  f. Schedule classes in a manner that will optimize instructional time and use of facilities  g. Serve on committees to revise, review, or develop curriculum and/or adopt textbooks, and  h. Serve as facilitator in matters related to special education.  

    4. Building/Grounds  The principal will:  

    a. Maintain an environment conducive to learning (attractive, safe, clean, orderly, and in food repair)  b. Work cooperatively with supervisory personnel from other divisions (maintenance, food service,  

    transportation, etc)  c. Provide daily supervision of all support personnel assigned to building (secretary, custodian, cook,  

    maintenance personnel, cafeteria supervisory, etc)  d. Inspect the building/grounds on a regular basis for safety, cleanliness, and proper repair  e. Maintain appropriate records  f. Develop plans and schedule practices of �re and disaster drills, and   g. Conduct appropriate safety and emergency drills.  

    5. Business operation of the school  The principal will:  

    a. Prepare an annual school budget  b. Follow established procedures for ordering equipment, supplies, services  c. Maintain appropriate records, and  d. Allocate funds in accordance with district policies.  

    6. Parent and community relations  The principal will:  

    a. Support and encourage positive e�orts of parent/teacher organizations  b. Communicate district and building programs, policies to community  c. Participate in opportunities in which the community can become involved in the school  

    (Grandparent’s Day, PTO, etc)  d. Promote an atmosphere of warmth and welcome for parents and other guests to the building  e. Participate in community and professional organizations  f. Work to increase parental involvement in the instructional process  g. Maintain �exible daily schedule in order to be available to conference with parents  h.     (Job Description)    

    CERTIFICATION FOR POSITION:  Missouri certi�cation as a middle school or secondary school principal and possess appropriate supervisory or  administrative experience.  

     TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  

    As outlined in the contract for services.    

    REPORTING AND SUPERVISION:  See institutional organization chart.  

     POSITION SYNOPSIS:  

    The middle school principal will assume direct responsibility for the total education program (curricular,  co-curricular, and extra-curricular) and other activities within the building.  

     PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    1. Instructional program  The principal will:  

    a. Provide instructional leadership within the school  b. Provide direction for the school  c. Direct and work with curriculum development  d. Initiate, organize, and recommend educational program and courses  e. Conduct a regular assessment of program e�ectiveness, and   f. Promote and maintain a positive school climate conducive to e�ective education experiences.  

    2. Faculty supervision and program  The principal will:  

    a. Conduct faculty observation procedures so as to promote the improvement of performance  b. Evaluate and make faculty recommendations according to guidelines  c. Participate in faculty recruitment procedures  d. Orient new faculty recruitment procedures  e. Schedule and conduct appropriate conferences and meetings with school sta�, and  f. Maintain an appropriate sta� in-service program.  

    3. Student management and activities  The principal will:  

    a. Maintain appropriate student discipline  b. Schedule appropriate contact with students, and  c. Direct and supervise school programs, activities, and events.  

    4. Business operation of the school  The principal will:

    QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES OF THE   ASSISTANT MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

    CERTIFICATION FOR POSITION:  Missouri certi�cation as a middle school or secondary school principal and possess appropriate supervisory or  administrative experience.  

     TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

     POSITION SYNOPSIS:  

    The assistant middle school principal will assist the principal in the total educational program and other duties  as assigned.  

     PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    1. Student management  The assistant principal will:  

    a. Be directly in charge of the discipline of the middle school, handling all disciplinary referrals. In cases  warranting severe disciplinary actions, the assistant principal shall immediately notify the principal as  to what consequence has been administered  

    b. Promote student self-control and self-discipline in order to maintain a safe school environment for all  students  

    c. Recommend and implement e�ective disciplinary policies:  i. In-school suspension monitored by certi�ed sta� to isolate the student, particularly “at risk,” as  

    an alternative to out-of-school suspension  ii. Discipline rules established for all middle school students, covering areas of expected  

    classroom, hallway, and lunch behaviors  d. Monitor the student after-school detention period  e. Act as liaison between teacher and parent, setting up parent conferences when circumstances warrant  f. Assist classroom instructors in explaining school rules, policies, and procedures to students  g. Handle disciplinary reports from bus drivers  h. Schedule regular conferences and meet with individuals and groups of students through their advisory  

    classes and in other informal settings  i. Recognize individual and group achievement by utilization of daily announcements of verbal or  

    written communication  j. Be responsible for the assignment and maintenance of school lockers  k. Provide adequate supervision for the building before and after school, during lunch hours, assemblies,  

    athletic contests, and other activities, and

    The assistant principal will:  a. Participate in teacher evaluation in cooperation with the principal so as to promote the improvement  

    of performance  b. Participate in department meetings and teacher team planning sessions  c. Aid the principal in orienting new faculty members  d. Provide teacher training as it relates to study management  e. Evaluate and make recommendations for the assignment of extra-curricular activity duties  f. Participate in the recruiting and selection of certi�ed sta�, and   g. Provide opportunities for communication with sta� members to assist with needs and concerns and  

    provide advisement when appropriate.  3. Instruction/Curriculum   

    The assistant principal will:  a. Participate in teachers’ meeting for input and understanding of curricular and extracurricular  

    programs and concerns  b. Assist in the coordination and selection of textbooks and other educational materials  c. Participate in the review and supervision of promotion and retention procedures, and  d. Promote and maintain a positive school climate by recognizing the achievements of students and  

    faculty with personal contacts, bulletins, letters, “happy grams”, and others.  4. Building/ Grounds

    6. General administrative functions  The assistant principal will:  

    a. Assist the principal in the development and implementation of the middle school’s master schedule of  classes  

    b. Be responsible for pupil accounting, attendance procedures and records, and the enforcement of  attendance rules and regulations  

    c. Provide, in cooperation with the school nurse, a healthy atmosphere for students  d. Assist the principal in the revision of student handbooks and other documents in an accurate and  

    timely fashion  e. Coordinate with the activities director the budgeting for extracurricular athletic activities at the middle  

    school. This shall include operating scheduled programs within the approved budget.  f. Evaluate the secretary to the assistant principal  g. Serve in the absence of the principal as administrator in charge of the middle school  h. Maintain textbook and equipment inventory, and  i. Perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the principal of  

    the middle school.

    The middle school in-school suspension supervisor will:  a. Supervise students assigned to the ISS classroom  b. Keep accurate attendance of students assigned to ISS and turn in report to the school secretary at the  

    end of the day  c. Obtain from regular classroom teacher daily assignments and supervise student completion of  

    assignment correctly or the best of their ability. At the end of the day, completed assignments are  placed in individual teacher’s mailboxes with notation about student’s progress on assignment

    The LMC aide, in conjunction with the elementary LMC, will:  a. Be responsible for the checking out of books and magazines  b. Communicate with teachers and assist in providing students with suitable material  c. Prepare and district and overdue list  d. Attempt to retrieve overdue books, magazines, and materials  e. Be responsible for seeing that all books and magazines are correctly shelved  f. Straighten shelves on a regular basis  g. Provide information retrieval for students  h. Support classroom teachers in implementing instructional units by gathering books and materials for  

    research projects  i. Promote a good working relationship with parent and student volunteers by keeping them informed of  

    library procedures  j. Process new materials  k. Help to maintain an accurate inventory of materials  l. Provide lunchroom supervision of students as assigned  m. Manage student behavior in a constructive manner  n. Provide lunchroom supervision of students as assigned  o. Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with students, educational sta�, and parents, patrons,

    REPORTING AND SUPERVISION:  Will report directly to the elementary school principal or designee.  

     POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree, valid Missouri teaching certi�cate, certi�cations for school library service.  

     TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    REPORTING AND SYNOPSIS:  Individual will report to assigned supervisor.  

     POSITION SYNOPSIS:  

    The middle school media specialist will select, process, and circulate media center materials appropriate for all  curriculum areas teachers, students, and sta� in locating and using such materials.    

     PERFORMANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    The middle school media specialist will:  a. Organize, operate, and manage the LMC  b. Coordinate daily operations of the LMC  c. Process all new LMC materials using Dewey Decimal Classi�cation and Sears List of Subject Headings  d. Provide orientation and instruction in the use of the LMC and its resources to individuals, classes, and  

    teachers  e. Establish and maintain an environment in which students and sta� can work at productive levels  f. Prepare and oversee the budget for all LMC services according to the needs and objectives of the LMC  

    within administrative guidelines  g. Purchase materials to support and supplement the curriculum  h. Organize and maintain records of LMC acquisitions, circulat
