coverage that You have purchased.
YOUR POLICY
This document is only valid when issued with a Dive Master Travel Insurance Schedule or electronic
Schedule. To avoid any misunderstanding please check all the details are correct and that You have
the protection You need and know what to do should You have a loss or need to claim. Please notify
Dive Master if any information that You have provided to Us or circumstances that affect Your travel
risk change at any time. Failure to do so may invalidate Your cover in the event of a claim. If You
have any questions please contact Dive Master by telephone or write to us. Please keep these
documents in a safe place and whilst it is not essential, We would recommend that You take these
documents with You when You travel.
Insurers
This policy is arranged by Dive Master Insurance Consultants Ltd, and is underwritten by Certain
Underwriters at Lloyd’s. Dive Master Insurance is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA
member number 306316). Details may be found by visiting the FCA website
(http://www.fca.org.UK/register/home.do) Contract of Insurance
This is Your contract of insurance; it contains certain conditions and exclusions in each section, and
general conditions and exclusions that apply to all sections of the policy. Governing Law and Disputes
This contract of insurance shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England
and Wales. Any dispute or difference arising under or in respect of this policy shall be subject to the
exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Contract Rights
A person who is not a party to this contract has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties)
Act 1999 to enforce any term of this contract but this does not affect any right or remedy of a third
party which exists or is available apart from that Act. Language of Contract of Insurance
Unless otherwise agreed, the language of this contract of insurance shall be English. How We Will Use Your Data
We hold Your personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. The information
supplied to the Underwriters and Us by You may be held on computer and passed to other Insurers
for underwriting and claims purposes. You should show this to anyone whose personal data may be
processed to administer this insurance. SANCTIONS CLAUSE
Underwriters shall not provide any benefit under this policy to the extent of providing cover,
payment of any claim or the provision of any benefit where doing so would breach any sanction,
prohibition or restriction imposed by law or regulation Cancellation of Your policy and the ‘cooling-off’ period
If this policy does not meet Your requirements then You may cancel the policy within 14 days of
buying the policy, or within 14 days of the date that You received Your policy, provided that You
have not already travelled or have made a claim against the policy.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT YOUR POLICY & COVERAGE Coverage
This policy is designed to cover residents domiciled in the UK for pre-booked round trips of in Excess
of 48 hours in length commencing in and returning to Your domiciled address, for both Conventional
Leisure Holidays and Diving Holidays. This includes trips with a destination within the United
Kingdom provided such trips involve at least two nights’ accommodation that have been pre booked
before commencement of the trip. Please note that coverage under the liability section only applies
to trips within the UK if they are pre-booked and pre-planned and including at least five nights’
accommodation.
IMPORTANT: This is not a specialist diving liability policy, it does not include coverage for dive
instruction, dive supervision and advice, nor does it include coverage for criminal defence costs
relating to civil liability claims. If You require such specialist benefits please consider purchasing
our Sport Diver or Pro Diver products. Residents who are domiciled outside the UK may also be Insured by agreement. This policy must be
bought before leaving Your Home Address and travel commences. Cancellation Cover
• This policy only covers cancellation for holidays that occur within the policy dates of
coverage.
• Coverage under this section commences from the date the Schedule is issued or Your trip is
booked (whichever is later) and ends at the beginning of each trip or at the end of the policy
(whichever is sooner).
• It is important that should You book a holiday commencing outside the policy dates that You
immediately arrange a policy that covers the dates of that holiday. Reciprocal Health Agreements
When You are travelling to another country within the European Union, You must register for a
European Health Insurance Card at Your local post office or register via www.ehic.org.uk. This
entitles European citizens to benefit from health agreements that exist between countries who are
members of the European Union (EU). In addition if You are travelling to Australia and/or New
Zealand You may be entitled to reciprocal healthcare and You must register with the Medicare or
the equivalent scheme of these countries.
If the Underwriters agree to a claim for medical expenses which has been reduced because You
used an EHIC, reciprocal health agreement or private health insurance the Underwriters will not
apply the Excess for this section. Failure to obtain an EHIC or equivalent reciprocal health agreement
may affect Your ability to claim under this policy. Territorial Limits
The coverage under this policy is Worldwide, but is subject to Foreign & Commonwealth Office
travel advice.
Please visit www.fco.gov.uk or contact Your Tour Operator if You are unsure what the current
published travel advice is for the region that You will be travelling to. However if non-essential travel
is not recommended by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, but You or Your Tour Operator
maintain that the destination is still safe, then please contact Us as Insurers may still grant coverage
by formal agreement upon consideration of Your travel itinerary. Aggregate
Maximum total aggregate limit(s) of this insurance is: £2,000,000.00 any one loss any one insured.

FITNESS TO TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS & PRE EXISTING MEDICAL
CONDITIONS AND LINKED CONDITIONS
• This Travel Insurance Policy will not cover any Pre Existing Medical Conditions and linked
conditions that occur before the purchase of the policy unless specifically declared and
agreed.
• This Travel Insurance Policy is designed to cover unforeseen illnesses and accidents that first
occur during the Travel Period. This policy will not cover any claims made as a result of a
pre-existing medical condition or symptoms that You are aware of or that has been
diagnosed or is awaiting diagnosis unless specifically agreed by insurers.
• It is therefore Your responsibility to disclose any medical conditions that may affect our
decision to insure You, and if Your Health Changes after You have taken out this Insurance
Policy then You must contact Us without delay.
• If You decide to book a trip or travel after Your Health Changes and You do not contact Us
We will not pay any claims arising as a result of Your Health Changes. Underwriters reserve
the right to alter the terms of this insurance based on the changed medical circumstances.
PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH We provide cover under this policy if something unexpected or unforeseen happens while You are
travelling. In particular We provide cover under SECTION E- MEDICAL AND EMERGENCY EXPENSES
for injuries to the body or illness that were not expected when the trip commenced. We do not consider pregnancy or Childbirth to be an illness or injury. To be clear, We only provide
cover under SECTION E – MEDICAL AND EMERGENCY EXPENSES, SECTION F- CANCELLATION AND
CURTAILMENT, SECTION I – HOSPITAL INCONVENIENCE BENEFIT, for claims that arise from the
Complications of Pregnancy and Childbirth. Please make sure You read the definition of
“Complications of Pregnancy and Childbirth” on page 7. If You have become pregnant before Your diving holiday commences We will only pay up to the limit
of the policy under SECTION L – LOSS OF ACTIVITY DAYS for any lost diving activities as a result of
the pregnancy.
CLOSE RELATIVES OR BUSINESS ASSOCIATES WHOSE HEALTH
MAY AFFECT THE TRIP If at the time of taking out this insurance, or booking the trip if this was later, You are aware that
Your travel may be cancelled or curtailed because of deteriorating health of a Close Relative or
business associate for which he or she
• was receiving treatment at a hospital, other than routine hospital check-ups for a stable
condition, at regular intervals, which have been arranged beforehand.
• was awaiting a hospital consultation or treatment, other than routine check-ups for a stable
condition, at regular intervals, which have been arranged beforehand.
• had been given a terminal prognosis, or have been told that their condition is likely to
deteriorate in the next 12 months.
We will not pay any claim You or any Insured person makes in relation to/or arising from the
medical condition of the Close Relative or business associate, unless it has been declared to Us and
specifically agreed by underwriters

MAKING A CLAIM Claims must be reported to Us within 60 days of the incident occurring by submitting an online claim
form found at www.divemasterinsurance.com, or by calling +44 (0) 1702 509094 or by sending an
email to [email protected]. The claim form and all supporting claim documents
must then be submitted within 12 months of the initial notification. Please note that if Your claim is
an emergency then please contact NORTHCOTT GLOBAL SOLUTIONS LTD (NGS) as per the SEEKING
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE instructions.
SEEKING EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE The Insured Persons should use the services of the following named assistance company to the full
for all emergency matters, medical emergency matters, in-patient hospital treatment and
evacuation/repatriation. The assistance company will be solely responsible for all decisions on the
most suitable practical and reasonable solution to any problem, and all such assistance is subject to
the prior approval of said assistance company:

Email: [email protected] Northcott Global Solutions Ltd (NGS) may be contacted at any time, should the Insured Person
require advice or assistance regarding all emergency matters.
In the event of an Insured Person requiring in-patient hospital treatment and/or
evacuation/repatriation, it is imperative that NGS is contacted and authorisation obtained prior to
such treatment and/or evacuation/repatriation taking place.
NGS must be informed that this Contract covers the person concerned and the following details
must be provided:
• The Insured Person’s name
• The Insured Person’s location
• The Insured Person’s details (including passport/visa etc).
• The Policy number
• ID reference number “NGSDIVE004”
• The name and phone number of the doctor and hospital treating the Insured Person (if
applicable)
• Any additional people (outside of normal protocol) that should be updated throughout
the case
• Nature of the incident
• The desired end state (what you want NGS to do)
• Any other pertinent information on the incident that may effect NGS’ response (security
situation etc)
Failure to contact NGS and obtain authorisation may prejudice the claim and could mean that some
or all of the costs involved may not be paid. The Insured Person should not attempt to find their own

solution and then expect full reimbursement from the Underwriters without prior approval first
having been obtained from NGS Limited.
In the event that cover cannot be established at the outset of an emergency it is agreed that the first
named insured will guarantee payment until such time that cover can be accepted by insurers.
DEFINITIONS TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND YOUR POLICY
• Baggage/Property/Luggage - Collective names for Your personal belongings, personal
effects, possessions and any other items that You own.
• Bodily Injury - An identifiable physical injury sustained by You caused by sudden,
unexpected external and visible means. Injury as a result of Your unavoidable exposure to
the elements shall be treated as being caused by Bodily Injury.
• Business trips – Means travel directly as a result of Your profession or occupation excluding
armed forces, police, fire, nursing or ambulance services.
• Child/Children - Means a Dependent Child who is up to 17 years of age or up to the age of
23 years of age provided that they are in full time education. Under this policy a Dependent
Child up to the age of 17 years of age, in addition to travelling with You or Your Partner, will
also be covered to travel independently only with school teachers on an organised school
trip.
• Close Relative - Means a Partner, son(s), daughter(s), parent(s), and parent in law, brother,
sister, brother in law, sister in law, or grandparent(s) or any of these for any Insured person.
• Complications of pregnancy or Childbirth - In this policy ‘Complications of Pregnancy and
Childbirth’ will only include the following:
• Toxaemia (toxins in the blood)
• Gestational diabetes (diabetes arising as a result of pregnancy)
• Gestational hypertension (high blood pressure arising as a result of pregnancy)
• Pre-eclampsia (where You develop high blood pressure, carry abnormal fluid and
have protein in Your urine during the second half of pregnancy)
• Ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy that develops outside of the uterus)
• Molar pregnancy or hydatidiform mole (a pregnancy in which a tumour develops
from the placental tissue)
• Post-partum haemorrhage (Excessive bleeding following Childbirth)
• Retained placenta membrane (part or all of the placenta is left behind in the uterus
after delivery)
• Placental abruption (part or all of the placenta separates from the wall of the uterus)
• Hyperemesis gravidarum (Excessive vomiting as a result of pregnancy)
• Placenta praevia (when the placenta is in the lower part of the uterus and covers
part or all of the cervix)
• Stillbirth
• Miscarriage
• Emergency Caesarean section
• A termination needed for medical reasons
• Premature birth more than 8 weeks (or 16 weeks if You know You are having more
than one baby) before the expected delivery date
• Conventional Leisure Holidays – Means non Diving Holidays for leisure purposes only
excluding travel for business and professional purposes
• Curtailment - Means returning home early from a journey or holiday before the Scheduled
return date.

• Dependent Child – Means a Child who does not necessarily permanently reside with You or
Your Partner but is financially dependent upon You or Your Partner.
• Dive Equipment/Diving Equipment - Means self-contained underwater breathing apparatus,
buoyancy compensators, weights & weight belts, fins, masks, masks with prescription lenses,
snorkels, knives, wet or dry suits, pressure & depth gauges, compasses, torches, lamps, dive
watches, dive computers, purpose made dive bags and anything specifically agreed by us.
• Diving Holidays – Means diving leisure holidays and travelling as a part of group, club or as
an instructor
• Emergency Essential Replacement items - Means items that You have to purchase as a
result of lost or delayed Baggage including items such as prescribed medications, toiletries
and clothing.
• European Union or EU - All member countries of the EU and this includes: Isle of Man,
Channel Islands, Canary Islands and Gibraltar.
• Excess - Refers to the specified portion of a claim that is not covered by the Insurance
Policy. The first £50 or £100 for each and every claim is not covered under some sections of
this policy.
• Health Changes – Means any change to Your own medical circumstances after You have
purchased a policy. This includes any medical condition or symptoms that You are aware of
or that has been diagnosed or is awaiting diagnosis.
• Hijack - Means the unlawful seizure or wrongful exercise of control of a vehicle which You
are travelling in as a Passenger
• Home Address - Means Your Home Address where You are ordinarily domiciled.
• Insurance Policy - A written contract defining the insurance plan, its coverage, exclusions,
eligibility requirements, and all benefits, warranties and conditions that apply to individuals
Insured under the contract.
• Insured/You/Your - Refers to each person named on the Schedule of insurance.
• Loss of Hearing- Means total and irrecoverable Loss of Hearing.
• Loss of Limbs - Means loss by physical severance at or above the wrist or ankle or the total
and permanent loss of use of an entire hand, arm, foot or leg.
• Loss of Sight - Means complete and irrecoverable Loss of Sight.
• Manual Labour - Means work that is physical, including, but not limited to construction,
installation, assembly and building work. You will not be covered for work that involves
installing, putting together, maintaining, repairing or using heavy electrical, mechanical or
hydraulic machinery. This does not include musicians and singers.
• NORTHCOTT GLOBAL SOLUTIONS LTD (NGS) - Our appointed emergency assistance
company.
• Pair or Set of Articles – Means any item/items that are dependent on another item/items to
function properly.
• Partner - Someone to whom You are engaged, married, have a civil Partnership with or have
lived with as a common law husband or wife for at least 3 months. This includes same sex
Partnerships. Your Partner must normally permanently reside at the same address.
• Permanent Total Disablement - Means permanent and total disablement from engaging in
or attending to any kind of profession or occupation.
• Pre Existing Medical Conditions and linked conditions– Means an illness, injury, condition,
symptoms or disease that You have had medical advice for or treatment for or that that You
are aware of or that has been diagnosed or is awaiting diagnosis. This includes but is not
limited to any of the following having occurred in the last two years:
a) Osteoporosis or any arthritic condition;
b) Breathing conditions including but not limited to, Emphysema, Asthma, or Chronic
Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD);

c) Any psychiatric or psychological condition (including, but not limited to anxiety or
depression);
d) Any heart-related, blood circulatory or diabetic condition;
e) Any neurological condition (including, but not limited to Stroke, Brain Haemorrhage
or Epilepsy):
f) Any bowel condition including, but not limited to Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or
Crohn’s disease;
Furthermore,
g) Any treatment or hospital tests for cancer in the last five years;
h) Any condition that has been referred to a hospital doctor or surgeon or needed
inpatient treatment in hospital in the last 12 months.
For your information, examples of conditions that can be linked to any pre-existing medical
condition include, but are not limited to:
a) Someone who has or has had cancer who suffers with a secondary cancer;
b) Someone with breathing difficulties who then suffers a chest infection of any kind;
c) Someone with high blood pressure or diabetes who then has a heart attack, stroke
or mini-stroke;
d) Someone with osteoporosis who then suffers with a broken or fractured bone
• Public Transport - Means Scheduled rail, bus, airline services and ferries.
• Schedule – A document issued by Us as formal confirmation of the coverage that You have
purchased.
• Single Article – Means any item/items that are not dependent on another item/items to
function properly.
• Travel Period – Means the period of time that You are travelling and commences from the
time that You leave Your normal place of residence or business until You return. A Travel
Period must be of at least 48 hours in length but must not exceed the maximum trip length
or coverage dates stated on the Schedule.
• ‘UK’ or ‘United Kingdom’ - These terms apply only if the Insured permanently resides in the
United Kingdom. However if You do not permanently reside in the United Kingdom then the
terms ‘UK’ or ‘United Kingdom’ shall be replaced by the country where You are domiciled.
• Unattended - an article will be deemed to be Unattended if it is not close enough and within
the sight of the Insured Person to prevent unauthorised interference.
• Underwriters - Means Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s.
• Valuables - Means cameras, photographic equipment, underwater photographic and video
equipment(including underwater housings/accessories), camcorders, video equipment,
satellite navigation equipment, television equipment, radios, cassette players, CD players,
IPods, MP3 players, audio equipment, laptops, notebooks, tablet computers, IPads, Mac or
Web books, eBooks, eReaders Including Kindles, personal computers, computer
equipment/accessories, hard drives, flash drives, computer/video games machines,
binoculars, telescopes, antiques, jewellery, watches, fur, precious or semi-precious stones,
articles made of or containing gold, silver or other precious metals, films, tapes, cassettes,
cartridges, discs or DVDs, Blue ray, or Compact discs, mobile telephones, smart phones
satellite phones or other communication devices and their accessories, spectacles,
sunglasses.
• We/Us/Insurers - Means Dive Master Insurance Consultants Ltd and Certain Underwriters at
Lloyd’s.

• Winter Sports – Skiing & snowboarding (including off-piste within local ski patrol guidelines),
glacier skiing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, sledging, tobogganing, sleigh riding and
curling.
ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS THAT ARE COVERED BY YOUR POLICY You will automatically be covered to participate in the following activities and sports at Your holiday
resort continuously for an unlimited period of time during the Travel Period: ● Amateur athleHcs ● Angling ● Archaeological digging ● Archery ● Badminton ● Ballooning
(organised pleasure rides only) ● Baseball ● Basketball ● Billiards ● Bowls ● Bridge walking (when
supervised by a fully trained guide) ● Camping ● Canoeing ● Catamaran sailing ● Climbing (on a
climbing wall only) ● Cricket ● Croquet ● Curling ● Cycling ● Dancing ● Deep sea fishing ● Dinghy
● Falconry ● Fell walking ● Fencing ● Fishing ● Football (under 3,000 metres alHtude unless
otherwise agreed) ● Glacier walking or trekking (under 3,000 metres altitude unless otherwise

Windsurfing ● Yoga *Please note that Scuba Diving and Free Diving are covered by this policy, but are Excluded under
SECTION C – PERSONAL ACCIDENT & SECTION E – MEDICAL & EMERGENCY EXPENSES as these risks
are covered by the Dive Master IDEC Diver Accident Insurance Policy. You must therefore ensure
that all divers purchase IDEC insurance to specifically cover any diving related injuries or illnesses. If You intend to participate in an activity that is not included in this list then please review the
Adventure Sports Holiday Cover that We can offer for an additional premium on our annual policies.
BEFORE YOU TRAVEL Check that Your passport(s) is still valid and in date, and that You comply with passport and travel
visa requirements or other documentation that will be required on arriving at Your destination. Check that this Insurance Policy will cover the entire length of Your trip. Check weather and travel conditions that may affect Your journey to the departure airport or port,
and make provision for this in Your journey time. Check with Your Travel provider that You have allocated sufficient time in order to catch any
connecting flights and transfers. Check with Your Travel provider that Your travel destination is considered to be safe* *Although this policy does provide worldwide coverage, please check the Foreign and
Commonwealth Office (FCO) travel advice and also check with the Tour Operator and travel provider

as the FCO advice may conflict with the Tour Operator and Travel Provider. Please see the notes
entitled Territorial Limits under the IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT YOUR POLICY section of this
wording. Provide a copy of Your insurance Schedule(s), contact details and a travel itinerary to any family or
friends who will not be travelling with You.
PERIOD OF INSURANCE SECTION F – CANCELLATION AND CURTAILMENT - cancellation cover commences from the date
that the Schedule is issued as shown on Your policy Schedule or the date of booking each trip
(whichever is later) and ends at the beginning of each trip or on the end date of the policy
(whichever is sooner) or running into subsequent periods of insurance specifically declared and
agreed by Underwriters. All other sections shall commence at the time of leaving Your normal place of residence or business,
and shall terminate on return thereto on completion of the journey or holiday. This insurance is only
valid for trips in Excess of 48 hours, but not exceeding the maximum trip limit or the coverage dates
as specified on the Schedule. The policy can only be extended with written agreement. The maximum number of days that You may travel continuously for under this Insurance Policy is
stated in the dates of cover on your policy schedule, unless extended by written agreement.
EXTENSION OF THE PERIOD OF INSURANCE If Your homeward journey cannot be completed before the expiry of the period of insurance this
policy shall remain in force without additional premium as follows:
• Up to 14 days in the event of delay to any vehicle vessel or aircraft in which You are
travelling as a ticket holding passenger.
• Up to 30 days if the intended return journey is prevented due to Your Bodily Injury or
illness. In this event We will continue to pay medical treatment under SECTION E – MEDICAL
AND EMERGENCY EXPENSES (up to the sum Insured provided by the policy) for this period
or such extension of period as is medically certified as being necessary.
CANCELLATION Insurers give You a Cooling Off Period of 14 days from the time You receive the policy. If the policy
and Schedule does not provide You with the protection that You want and You do not want to
continue with the insurance You may cancel the policy within this period and obtain a full refund,
provided that the period of insurance has not commenced. Cancellations made after the Cooling off
Period has ended and after the policy has commenced will be calculated at pro rata, and provided
that no claims have been made or are pending. Only policies with periods of insurance in Excess of
31 days can be cancelled after the Cooling Off period. The Underwriters hold the right to cancel this Insurance at any time within the Period of Insurance
by giving written notice. It is agreed that the Insurer shall not give less than fifteen (15) days prior notice of cancellation to
the Insured. This Insurance will then be cancelled on the basis of a pro-rata refund provided there is no claim
paid or outstanding, in which case no refund will be offered.

SUBROGATION & NON CONTRIBUTION CLAUSE The underwriting Company has the right to recover against any other valid Insurance Policy or
Source which could be called into contribution. Where another policy covering the same claim is in
force this policy shall apply only in Excess of any amount paid under such other insurance. This policy
will not contribute to any claims that would or have been declined under the terms of this policy or
any endorsements, conditions or exclusions issued to the Insured with this policy.
SECTION A – BAGGAGE & DIVE EQUIPMENT You are covered for: The irretrievable loss, destruction, damage or theft to personal belongings, Valuables, Dive
Equipment, trunks, suitcases and containers that occurs during Your Travel Period. In addition if
Your Baggage is temporarily lost in transit on the outward journey to Your intended destination and
not restored to You within 12 hours after arrival, You are also covered for the purchase of
Emergency Essential Replacement items and for the hire of Diving Equipment until Your Baggage is
restored to You. Limit of Amounts Payable
In the event of irretrievable loss, destruction, damage or theft to Baggage then the total amount
payable overall in respect of each Insured is £2,500, although the maximum sum Insured is £400 in
respect of any Single Article, Pair or Set of Articles including Dive Equipment or Valuables. If the Baggage is temporarily lost in transit on the outward journey then the undernoted maximum
sums Insured shall apply to each Insured: £150 overall in respect of Emergency Essential Replacement items per Insured
£300 overall for the hire of Dive Equipment per Insured, or up to a maximum of £150 towards
purchasing replacement items of Dive Equipment if it is not possible to hire the equipment at Your
destination You are NOT covered for Loss, destruction, damage or theft to:
1. Contact lenses, dentures, hearing aids, pedal cycles, wheel chairs (unless specifically agreed),
vehicles of any kind and their accessories including car keys or key fobs, boats of any kind
and their accessories, antiques, musical instruments, pictures, glass, china, camping
equipment, samples of merchandise, bonds, coupons, securities or documents of any kind,
fragile and brittle articles, household goods, consumables of any description or anything
shipped as freight or under a bill of lading.
2. Valuables within a suitcase, or in Luggage that has been ‘checked in’ with the carrier
3. Sports equipment whilst in use (other than Dive Equipment)
4. Cleaning, repairing or restoring of any item of Baggage or Valuables.
5. Shortages due to error, omission or depreciation in value. Please note that depreciation is
applied at a rate of 10% for each year after the first year that You purchased the claimed
item(s), but up to a maximum of 40% for each item claimed. For example if an item that You
are claiming for was bought for £100.00 5 full years prior to the loss occurring, then the
maximum that may be paid in respect of this item is £60.00.
6. Baggage or Valuables carried for trade or commercial purposes
7. Baggage as a result of confiscation or detention by Customs, other officials or authorities
8. Items that have been hired, loaned or entrusted to You
9. Items of Baggage, Valuables, Dive Equipment that are left Unattended in a public place or a
place in which members of the general public have access to.

10. Any item of Valuables that has been left in Your holiday accommodation, unless stored in a
securely locked safety deposit box or locked and secured hotel storeroom
11. Items of Baggage, Dive Equipment that have been left Unattended in Your locked and
secured holiday accommodation or cabin if You are on a live aboard, unless there is
evidence of a forced and violent entry into or exit from Your accommodation or cabin.
12. Items of Baggage, Valuables, Dive Equipment that are left Unattended in a vehicle unless
there is physical evidence of a forcible and violent entry into or exit from the vehicle, and
that the items were stored in the locked and secured glove compartment, boot or Luggage
space of that vehicle and kept out of sight at all times
13. Items of Baggage, Valuables, Dive Equipment that are stolen from an Unattended vehicle
between the hours of 9pm and 7am local time. Further this policy does NOT cover:
14. Loss or theft of Baggage, Valuables, Dive Equipment that is not reported to the police within
48 hours of discovery, and a Police Report obtained which shall be produced as evidence to
accompany Your claim
15. Electrical or mechanical fault of an item of Dive Equipment or Valuables
16. The first £50 of each and every claim for Baggage or Dive Equipment and the first £50 for
Valuables per Insured person, except in respect of temporary loss of Baggage on the
outward journey where no Excess will apply
17. Theft of Baggage, Valuables, Dive Equipment from Your person without force or the threat
or risk of violence
18. Any Item You cannot prove You owned and prove the value of (for example, with original
receipts) for Baggage, Valuables, Diving Equipment
19. Loss, Destruction or Damage to Items of Baggage, Valuables, Dive Equipment while they are
not in Your control or that have been left in the custody of another person, other than those
named under this policy.
20. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS. Claims Evidence for SECTION A - BAGGAGE AND DIVE EQUIPMENT
We will require (at Your own expense) the following evidence where relevant
• A police report from the local police, within 48 hours of the incident occurring, in the
country where the incident occurred for a loss, theft or attempted theft.
• A Property irregularity report from the airline or a letter from the carrier where loss, theft or
damage occurred in their custody
• A letter from Your tour operator’s representative, hotel or accommodation provider where
appropriate
• If an item of dive or camera equipment is lost while on a dive or on-board a liveaboard then
We will require written confirmation from them that You reported the loss to Your dive
instructor or dive boat skipper.
• All travel tickets and tags
• Receipts proving ownership and value for items lost, stolen or damaged and for all items of
clothing, medication, toiletries replaced if Your Baggage is temporarily lost on Your outward
journey
• Proof of any hire charges if it is necessary for You to hire Dive Equipment because Your
Baggage was delayed on the outward journey
• A letter from the carrier confirming the number of hours Your Baggage was delayed for.
• Repair report where applicable
• Any other relevant information that We may ask for.

SECTION B - PERSONAL MONEY You are covered for: Loss or theft of cash and traveller’s cheques belonging or entrusted to You, whilst being carried on
Your person or left in a locked safety deposit box. Any loss or theft must be reported to the local
Police within 48 hours of discovery, and a Police report obtained to support Your claim. Limit of Amount Payable The total amount payable in respect of cash, bank notes and traveller’s cheques combined for each
Insured is £500
The maximum sum payable for each Insured for cash or bank notes is £250 You are NOT covered for:
1. Loss of money left Unattended at any time unless kept in a securely locked safety deposit
box
2. Losses not reported to the Police within 48 hours of discovery and a Police report obtained
which shall be produced as evidence to accompany any claim
3. Money left Unattended in any type of vehicle or in Luggage that has been ‘checked in’ with
a Carrier
4. The first £50 of each and every claim per Insured person
5. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
SECTION C - PERSONAL ACCIDENT You are covered for: A Bodily Injury suffered by You during the Travel Period that is caused by an accident resulting
solely and independently of other causes in death or disablement. This is subject to the following:
• Death or disablement occurring within one year of the injury being sustained.
• Benefits not being payable under more than one section and any such payment shall end
this section of the policy in respect of the Insured concerned.
• The injury being sustained during the period of insurance and is the sole cause of Your
consequential death or disablement.

2. Any medical condition that You were aware of or an injury which existed or was incurred
prior to the commencement of the trip.

4. Pregnancy
5. Any claim that is not reported to Us within 12 months of the injury first occurring
6. Any claims arising directly or indirectly from any injury, illness, death attributable to Scuba
Diving or Free Diving
7. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
SECTION D - PERSONAL LIABILITY IMPORTANT: This is not a specialist diving liability policy, it does not include coverage for dive
instruction, supervision and advice, nor does it include coverage for criminal defence costs. If You
require such benefits please consider purchasing our Sport Diver or Pro Diver liability products. You are covered for: All sums which You become personally legally liable to pay for accidents which result in:
• Death or Bodily Injury of any person other than Your employees, Family, Friends or Partner.
• Loss of/or damage to Property which does not belong to You or that is not in the charge or
under the control of You or a member of Your family, household or a person in Your
employment occurring during the period of insurance. Limit of Amount Payable
The total amount payable for all claims made against You arising from any one occurrence is
£2,000,000. We will also pay any extra costs and expenses awarded against You or incurred by You
with our written consent. You are NOT covered for Liability arising from:
1. Any legal responsibility that comes from an injury or loss or damage to Property that:
a. You, a member of Your family, Your Partner, household or a person You employ
owns; or
b. You, a member of Your family, Your Partner, household or a person You employ,
cares for or controls
2. Any legal responsibility, injury, loss or damage:
a. to members of Your family, Your Partner, household, or a person You employ;
b. that results from a contract You have entered into;
c. that results from You owning, using or living on any land or in buildings (except
temporarily for the trip); or
d. that results from You infecting any other person with any sexually transmitted
disease or condition
3. Your trade, business or profession.
4. Scuba Diving supervision and training or any other supervision and training relating to
recreational sports and activities.
5. The ownership, possession or occupation of any land or building (other than holiday
accommodation that You are temporarily occupying, in which case the first £100 of each and
every claim is excluded).

6. The ownership, possession or use of animals, mechanically propelled vehicles (other than
pedal cycles, perambulators or Children’s toys), firearms, weapons, gas powered weapons
(including paintball), air rifles, vessels (other than manually propelled water craft) jet skis,
personal water craft, fly boards, mini boats, or aircraft of any description
7. Trips:
a. Within the UK that are not pre-booked and pre-planned and including at least five
nights’ accommodation
b. Trips outside the UK, Isle of Man, Channel Islands or Northern Island, unless the trip
was pre-booked and in Excess of 48 hours in duration
8. Any claim where there is a breach of Your certifying association standards and
recommendations
9. Any claims covered by a more specific liability policy or group dive club or association
liability insurance.
10. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS Furthermore this policy does not cover criminal defence costs. Special conditions which apply to Section D Under this policy You must:
1. Give Insurers notice of any cause for a legal claim against You as soon as You know about it,
and send them any other documents relating to any claim;
2. Help Insurers and give them all the information they need to allow them to take action on
Your behalf;
3. Not negotiate, pay, settle, admit or deny any claim unless You get Insurers permission in
writing; and be aware that We will have full control over any legal representatives and any
proceedings. We will be entitled to take over and carry out any claim in Your name for Your
defence or prosecute for our own benefit.
SECTION E - MEDICAL & EMERGENCY EXPENSES You are covered for:
We will pay You up to £2,000,000.00 for the following expenses which are necessary and reasonable
if You suffer an unforeseen Bodily Injury, illness or death while You are travelling outside of the
United Kingdom during the period of insurance
1. Emergency Medical, Surgical, Hospital and Ambulance charges incurred outside of the
United Kingdom.
2. Emergency dental treatment for the immediate relief of pain only, this is limited to
£2,000.00
3. Reasonable additional transport and / or accommodation expenses incurred, up to the
standard of Your original booking (for example full or half board, all inclusive, bed and
breakfast, self-catering, or room only), if it is medically necessary for You to stay beyond
Your Scheduled return date. This includes, with the prior authorisation of Dive Master
Insurance, reasonable additional transportation and/or accommodation expenses for a
travelling companion, friend or Close Relative if deemed medically necessary by a medical
practitioner, to stay with You or travel to You from the United Kingdom or escort You, and
additional travel expenses to return You to Your domiciled address if You cannot use Your
return ticket.
4. In the event of Your death:
a. We will pay reasonable costs for the return of Your body or ashes to Your Home
Address or up to £5,000 for the cost of a funeral in the country where You die if this
is outside the United Kingdom

b. We will pay up to £2,000 for the cost of returning Your body or ashes to Your Home
Address if You die while in the United Kingdom
5. Up to £20,000 for search and rescue costs that are charged to You by a government or
regulated authority for finding You while doing an Insured activity. Special conditions relating to SECTION E – MEDICAL & EMERGENCY EXPENSES
• If You are admitted to hospital abroad, and it is likely You will be admitted for more than 24
hours then You, or someone on Your behalf, must contact our appointed emergency
assistance company as soon as possible. If You do not do this then the level of cover We are
able to offer will be limited to £5,000.00
• If You receive medical treatment abroad as an outpatient or inpatient and You pay the
hospital or clinic, a claim should be submitted to Dive Master Insurance through our
website. If the initial medical estimate for inpatient or outpatient treatment is likely to
exceed £500, You must contact our appointed emergency assistance company without
delay.
• We reserve the right to move You from one hospital to another You are NOT covered for:
1. The first £50.00 of each and every claim per Insured person
2. Any sums which can be recovered by You or which are covered under any National
Insurance Scheme or Reciprocal Health agreement.
3. Any medical condition for which at the time of effecting this insurance You:
a. Are already receiving medical treatment or You are on a waiting list to receive
medical treatment, or awaiting diagnosis, unless the condition has been specifically
disclosed to Insurers and We have subsequently agreed coverage in writing to You.
b. Have received a terminal prognosis
c. Are intending to travel against the advice of a qualified medical practitioner
4. Any claims arising directly or indirectly from any injury, illness or death attributable to scuba
diving, this is covered by Your separate IDEC policy.
5. Any expenses which are not usual, reasonable or customary to treat Your Bodily Injury,
illness or disease.
6. Any costs for cosmetic surgery or body art (e.g. tattoos or piercings) and any subsequent
medical treatment required as a result of such treatment.
7. Any treatment or services provided by a private clinic or hospital, or any additional hospital
costs for or arising from single or private room accommodation unless the appointed
emergency assistance company have given prior approval and it is medically necessary.
8. Treatment or services provided by a private clinic or hospital, health spa, convalescent home
or any rehabilitation; unless We have agreed that is medically necessary
9. Any costs incurred in obtaining or replacing medication, which You know You will need at
the time of departure or which will have to be continued during the Travel Period.
10. Any costs for phone calls other than those to the appointed emergency assistance company
11. Any treatment which can reasonably be delayed until You return to Your home country.
12. Any costs incurred after You have refused the offer of returning home, when, in the opinion
of our medical advisors You are fit to travel.
13. Any treatment or medication that You receive after You have returned to Your country of
residence.
14. Death, injury, illness or disablement resulting from or arising in connection with pregnancy
or Childbirth where the expected date of birth is before the expiry of the Travel Period or up
to 12 weeks after the expiry of the Travel Period.
15. Any costs for non-emergency medical expenses when in our medical advisors opinion the
Insured is fit to return to the country where they are legally domiciled
16. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS.

Neither NORTHCOTT GLOBAL SOLUTIONS LTD (NGS) nor Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s are
responsible for the availability, quantity, quality or the results of any medical treatment provided, or
for the failure of the Insured to seek medical services. Claims Evidence.
We will require (at Your own expense) receipts or invoices for all inpatient / outpatient treatment or
emergency dental treatment. In the event of death the original death certificate, bills or invoices for
funeral or cremation. Receipts or bills for taxi fares to or from the hospital claimed for (showing Your
name, date, the amount paid and destination). Receipts or invoices for any other accommodation,
transport or other costs, charges and expenses claimed for under this section of the policy. Any
other relevant information that We may ask You for.
SECTION F - CANCELLATION & CURTAILMENT You are covered for: Cancellation prior to departure:
Refund of non-recoverable deposits and other charges that are pre-paid or contractually incurred in
advance for travel, leisure activities and accommodation in respect of Your own journey or holiday
in the event of unavoidable cancellation of the journey or holiday.
• This policy only covers cancellation for holidays that occur within the policy dates of
coverage.
• Coverage under this section commences from the date the Schedule is issued or Your trip is
booked (whichever is later) and ends at the beginning of each trip or at the end of the policy
(whichever is sooner).
• It is important that should You book a holiday commencing outside the policy dates that You
immediately arrange a policy that covers the dates of that holiday. Curtailment after departure: A proportionate refund of any pre-paid charges and a full refund of
any additional return travel if You are unable to use Your return ticket due to the Curtailment of
Your journey or holiday. We will also pay up to the benefit stated if as a result of failure of Your own
pre-booked travel itinerary or failure of scheduled Public Transport within Your itinerary, You fail to
reach Your final pre-booked destination. For partial delay of over 24 hours in reaching Your final pre-
booked destination as a result of failure of Your own pre-booked travel itinerary We will pay up to
the Curtailment benefit on a pro rata basis for days lost at Your final destination. However it is a
condition of claiming under this section that You must have pre-booked Your travel arrangements
and Your stay at Your final destination prior to Your travel commencing. You must provide Us with
evidence of the failure of Your travel itinerary and an absence of any other reasonable alternative
travel arrangements being available and the consequent financial loss thereof. If You need to return
to the UK before Your due date to do so, and intend to make a claim under this section, You must
phone our assistance company NORTHCOTT GLOBAL SOLUTIONS LTD (NGS) as soon as is possible
on +44 (0)207 183 8910 quoting our reference “NGSDIVE004” and Your policy number. All Claims
resulting from injury, illness, quarantine or death must be supported by medical reports or a death
certificate (or both) indicating the necessity to curtail Your trip. CLOSE RELATIVES OR BUSINESS ASSOCIATES WHOSE HEALTH MAY AFFECT THE TRIP
If at the time of taking out this insurance, or booking the trip if this was later, You are aware that
Your travel may be cancelled or curtailed because of deteriorating health of a Close Relative or
business associate for which he or she
• was receiving treatment at a hospital, other than routine hospital check-ups for a stable
condition, at regular intervals, which have been arranged beforehand.

• was awaiting a hospital consultation or treatment, other than routine check-ups for a stable
condition, at regular intervals, which have been arranged beforehand.
• had been given a terminal prognosis, or have been told that their condition is likely to
deteriorate in the next 12 months. We will not pay any claim You or any Insured person makes in relation to/or arising from the
medical condition of the Close Relative or business associate, unless it has been declared to Us and
specifically agreed by underwriters. Limit of Amount Payable
The total amount payable in respect of each Insured is £3,000 Coverage under this section is only as a result of any of the following occurring after the date of
effecting this insurance, or booking Your trip which must be covered by contracted booking
conditions (whichever is later)
1. Cancellation as a result of accidental Bodily Injury or illness that renders You as unfit to
travel or dive prior to travel
2. Curtailment that is medically necessary as a result of Bodily Injury or serious illness to You,
Your Partner or any person that You had arranged to travel with.
3. Cancellation or Curtailment as a result of the quarantine by a physician, or death of any
person named on this Schedule.
4. The Death, Bodily Injury, serious illness or compulsory quarantine of: -
a. Your Partner or any Close Relative who travel depends on.
b. Any person whom You have arranged to travel with, reside with or conduct business
with during the trip.
5. You or any person with whom You have arranged to travel with are summoned for Jury
Service or called as a witness in a Court of Law during the Travel Period.
6. Cancellation of leave for British Forces provided that such cancellation or Curtailment could
not reasonably have been expected at the time of applying for insurance.
7. You or Your Partner are made unemployed and certified as such by the Department of
Employment
8. Your home becomes uninhabitable or Your place of business becomes inoperable or
unusable up to 14 days prior to the commencement of Your trip, due to fire, lightning,
explosion, subsidence, storm, falling trees, malicious damage, burst pipes or impact damage.
9. Your presence is required by the Police following a burglary or attempted burglary at Your
home or place of business
10. We do not consider normal pregnancy or Childbirth to be an injury or illness that renders
You as unfit to travel; We will only pay a claim due to pregnancy or Childbirth under this
section of the policy if a qualified medical practitioner confirms that the claim comes from
the complications of a pregnancy or Childbirth. NOTE:
If You are claiming Cancellation due to being diagnosed as unfit to travel or dive prior to Your date
of travel, We have the right to refer You to a doctor or medical referee for an expert opinion.
In the event that You do not travel and Your holiday booking is resold, We will only be liable for the
difference.
In the event that You discover You are pregnant prior to diving while travelling then We will only be
liable for the loss of activity days under SECTION L – LOSS OF ACTIVITY DAYS of this policy
You are NOT covered for:
1. Any medical condition of any Insured for which at the time of effecting the insurance or
booking Your trip (whichever is later) that the Insured:

a. is already receiving medical treatment or is on a waiting list to receive medical
treatment unless the condition has been disclosed to Insurers and coverage has
been subsequently agreed in writing
b. has received a terminal prognosis
c. is intending to travel against the advice of a qualified medical practitioner
2. Any medical condition that is not supported by a qualified medical practitioner’s Medical
Certificate
3. The first £50 of each and every claim per person (except for loss of deposit claims where the
Excess will be the first £10 per Insured person)
4. Failure of transport that is not pre-booked or the failure of Scheduled Public Transport in
delays of less than 24 hours duration
5. Cancellations that are not validated with a cancellation invoice from a recognised and
bonded tour operator ATOL protected and regulated, airline, transport, accommodation, or
other at resort holiday service provider (for example a dive centre at Your destination or
airport car parking company)
6. If you have an independently booked trip there is no cover under this policy for the failure of
Your independently arranged travel itinerary, should You require INDEPENDENT ITINERARY
FAILURE please review the additional policy benefits available with our Annual Multi Trip
policies.
7. Any claim arising from pregnancy or Childbirth, unless a qualified medical practitioner
confirms in writing that the claim is due to the Complications of pregnancy or Childbirth
8. Any Claim for refund of any costs for persons not named on the policy Schedule
9. Any Claim as a result of any serious, chronic or recurring illness, injury or disease affecting
any person whose good heath Your trip depends on that You were aware of when You took
out Your policy or booked Your trip (whichever is later)
10. Any claim made because You did not feel like travelling
11. Accommodation costs paid for using any timeshare, annual membership or maintenance
fees, holiday Property bond, or other holiday points schemes.
12. Any Claim for the loss of any air miles, cruise miles or holiday points You used to pay for the
holiday in part or full.
13. Any claim for the Curtailment of Your trip which was not authorised by our assistance
company NORTHCOTT GLOBAL SOLUTIONS LTD (NGS) or Insurers before You returned
home.
14. Claims that are recoverable from a common carrier or private transport provider, hotel or
other accommodation provider or activity provider.
15. Claims where You have been offered or accepted an alternative or other means of
compensation.
16. Claims for the difference between the value of alternative or other means of compensation
You have accepted.
17. Claims not supported by receipts and/or evidence of payment and rejection by the common
carrier or private transport provider, hotel or other accommodation provider or provider.
18. Claims covered by a Tour Operator’s statutory obligation to provide You with compensation.
19. Claims covered by a Carrier’s statutory obligation to provide You with compensation.
20. Claims covered by ABTA, ATOL, Credits Card schemes or other similar financial guarantee
system.
21. Claims as a result of Your trip being cancelled or curtailed on the instruction of Your
employer.
22. Cancellation claims as a result of booking conditions that breach the UK “Unfair Contract
Terms Act 1977” or equivalent legislation (for example if Your booking terms and conditions
allow You to re-book for a future date)
23. Claims for the cost/s for pre booked recreational developmental diving courses.

24. Any claims under SECTION F - CANCELLATION & CURTAILMENT that result directly or
indirectly from any medical condition You knew about at the time of taking out this
insurance, or booking Your trip whichever is later, and that affects:
a. A Close Relative who is not travelling and is not named on this policy
b. Someone travelling with You who is not named on this policy
c. A business associate; or
d. A person You plan to stay with on Your trip Subject to the terms and conditions, such claims may only be covered if the patient’s Doctor is
prepared to state that at the date of purchasing this policy, or the date of booking Your trip
whichever was later, he/she would have seen no substantial likelihood of his / her patients condition
deteriorating to such a degree that You would need to cancel Your trip. If the Doctor will not confirm
this, Your claim is not covered. In the event of a claim the Doctor must complete the relevant
medical certificate on the claim form.
25. Any costs incurred for trips booked after You suffer a Bodily Injury or illness where You are
not fit to travel at the time of booking the trip.
26. Claims as a result of failing to cancel Your holiday at the time of Your Bodily Injury or illness
occurring costs which would have been recoverable under the booking conditions had You
informed the tour operator at the time of the Bodily Injury.
27. Acts of Terrorism
28. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS Please note
If You have made a holiday booking through an intermediary then it is Your responsibility to ensure
that the booking has been cancelled with the recognised and bonded ATOL protected and regulated
Tour Operator or the at resort service provider. We will not settle Your claim if Your original bookings
are not cancelled with the recognised and bonded, ATOL protected and regulated Tour Operator
and/or the at resort service provider(s), and the intermediary or agent instead resells Your booking.
In this instance the intermediary or agent should refund any deposits and charges that they have
received from You. We only accept cancellation invoices from a recognised and bonded ATOL
protected and regulated Tour Operator, transport, accommodation or other at resort holiday service
provider. We do not accept cancellation invoices from private individuals, group leaders or clubs or
dive centres/schools/clubs that have organised Your travel and diving arrangements.
SECTION G - DELAYED DEPARTURE You are covered for:
The delay in departure of the ship, aircraft, train, bus or coach in which You are booked to travel,
subject to a maximum payment of £150 in all per Insured person. Further if after 24 hours delayed
departure of the outward journey You choose to cancel the holiday We will pay for non-recoverable
deposits and other pre-paid holiday charges up to a maximum of £3,000. The period of delay will be
calculated from the date and time of the Scheduled departure of ship, aircraft, train, bus or coach
specified in Your travel itinerary. You must arrive and check-in according to such itinerary and obtain
written confirmation from the Carrier or their handling agents stating the actual date and time of
departure and the reason for the delay. Limit of Amount Payable
The total amount payable in respect of delay for each Insured person is £150 and We will pay the
sum of £20 for the first full 12 hours of delay in departure, followed by £10 for each subsequent full
12 hours of delay. In respect of abandonment on the outward journey £3,000 is the total amount
payable in respect of each Insured person.

You are NOT covered for:
1. Delay caused by strike or industrial action existing or notified by declaration of intent on or
prior to the date this insurance is effected
2. A claim made for both delay in departure and abandonment after 24 hours full delayed
departure for the same occurrence
3. Any claims made under both SECTION G - DELAYED DEPARTURE & SECTION H - MISSED
DEPARTURE for the same occurrence
4. The first £50 of each and every claim per Insured person only in the case of abandonment
after a full 24 hours delayed departure
5. Delay if You do not check-in for the sea crossing, flight, train, bus or coach departure before
the stated check-in time
6. Delay if You do not obtain written confirmation from the shipping company, airline, train,
bus or coach company stating the period and reason for the delay
7. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
SECTION H - MISSED DEPARTURE You are covered for:
Additional accommodation and travel expenses up to a maximum of £800 for each Insured person,
necessarily incurred in reaching Your overseas destination or returning home if:
• The vehicle You are travelling in breaks down, is involved in an accident or is delayed due to
road closure, or heavy congestion as the result of an incident that You were unaware of
prior to the outset of Your journey, resulting in You arriving too late to commence Your
booked journey from or to the United Kingdom.
• The Public Transport is delayed resulting in You arriving too late to commence Your pre-
booked journey from or to the United Kingdom.
• A connection to Your point of departure is delayed or cancelled, then there will only be
coverage under this section if Your inbound Scheduled arrival time is at least one hour
before Your advised check-in time for the outbound journey with the carrier or the agent.
• Despite possessing a valid claim for Cancellation under SECTION F CANCELLATION AND
CURTAILMENT You decide to continue with Your holiday plans. Coverage is also provided for the refund of non-recoverable deposits and other pre-paid holiday
charges up to a maximum of £3,000, if as a result of the vehicle You are travelling in breaks down or
is involved in an accident, or due to the failure of the Public Transport that You are travelling in You
miss the departure of Your pre-booked liveaboard accommodation.
You are NOT covered:
1. If You leave insufficient time to meet the check-in time specified by the transport provider
or their agent
2. Unless You obtain written confirmation from the police or a recognised breakdown and
recovery organisation that the vehicle You were travelling in broke down, was involved in an
accident, or confirmation from an authorised motoring organisation that You were delayed
due to a road closure or heavy congestion following an incident that You were unaware of
prior to the outset of Your journey
3. Unless You obtain written confirmation from the Public Transport provider that the service
was delayed resulting in You arriving too late to commence Your booked journey from or to
the United Kingdom

4. For any claims made under both SECTION G - DELAYED DEPARTURE & SECTION H - MISSED
DEPARTURE for the same occurrence
5. For anything that is excluded in GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
SECTION I - HOSPITAL INCONVENIENCE BENEFIT You are covered: If You are admitted to a hospital as an in-patient outside of the United Kingdom due to accidental
Bodily Injury or illness first sustained during the Travel Period. Limit of amount payable
We will pay a benefit of £20 for every 24 hours that You are hospitalised but not exceeding £1,000 in
all per Insured person. You are NOT covered for:
1. Hospitalisation within the United Kingdom
2. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
SECTION J - LOSS OF PASSPORT We will pay reasonable additional travel and accommodation expenses necessarily incurred abroad
in obtaining a temporary replacement passport, as a result of the loss or theft of Your passport while
abroad during the period of insurance. Limit of amount payable
The total amount payable in respect of each Insured is £250 You are NOT covered:
1. If You do not report Your lost passport to the Police within 48 hours of discovering the loss
2. For any loss, destruction or damage arising from confiscation or detention by Customs or
other officials or authorities.
3. In respect of anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS Furthermore this policy does not cover the cost incurred in obtaining a replacement passport on
returning to Your home country.
SECTION K - LEGAL EXPENSES & ADVICE You are covered for: Legal costs and expenses incurred by You in the pursuit of compensation and/or damages against a
third party as a result of Your death or personal injury that occurs during the Travel Period. For any advice please telephone +44 (0) 1702 476902, but please note that complete control over
the legal proceedings and the appointment and control of a solicitor shall be exercised by Dive
Master Insurance Consultants Ltd or Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s. Limit of amount payable
The total amount payable in respect of each Insured person is £25,000 You are NOT covered for:
1. Costs in pursuance of any claims against a Tour Operator, Travel Agent, Insurers, Insurers
Agent or Carrier

2. Any costs or legal expenses that are incurred prior to the authorisation and approval of a
claim by Dive Master Insurance Consultants Ltd
3. Any claims where We consider Your prospects of success in achieving a reasonable
settlement are insufficient
4. Any claim not reported to Dive Master Insurance Consultants Ltd within 180 days after the
event giving rise to the claim
5. Actions between members of the same family or household, or actions to enforce a
judgement or legally binding decision
6. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
SECTION L - LOSS OF ACTIVITY DAYS You are covered for: Being unable to participate in pre-booked and pre-paid scuba dives or activity packages (if an
additional premium has been paid) due to Bodily Injury or illness first occurring during the Travel
Period, in which case a proportionate refund of the pre-paid charges may be claimed. The Insured
must produce a Doctor’s Certificate stating the exact nature of the injury or illness, and that the
Insured is unfit to take part in the pre-booked and pre-paid activity. You must produce written
confirmation of the dates and the monetary amount that You paid for the pre-booked and pre-paid
activity. You should also obtain written confirmation from the package provider confirming any
refunds that were issued to You, and the dates that You were unable to participate due to Bodily
Injury or illness.
Being unable to dive during the period of travel due to a normal pregnancy up to the policy limit
shown below. Limit of amount payable
The total amount payable in respect of each Insured person is £500 You are NOT covered for:
1. Claims not verified by a Doctor’s certificate
2. Any injury or illness that renders the Insured unable to dive or participate in an activity
package which was in existence prior to the pre-booked and pre-paid package
3. Any costs, expenses or charges incurred by persons not named on this policy
4. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
SECTION M – ADVERSE WEATHER You are covered for: Being unable to participate in pre-booked and pre-paid scuba dives or activity packages due to
adverse weather conditions first occurring during the Travel Period, in which case a proportionate
refund of the pre-paid charges may be claimed. You must produce written confirmation of the dates
and the monetary amount that You paid for the pre-booked and pre-paid activity. You should also
obtain written confirmation from the package provider confirming any refunds that were issued to
You, and the dates that You were unable to participate due to adverse weather conditions. Limit of amount payable
The total amount payable in respect of each Insured person is £500 You are NOT covered for:
1. Claims not verified in writing by the scuba dive or activity package provider

2. Any adverse weather conditions that prevent You from participating in a scuba dive or
activity package which was in existence prior to the activity being booked and paid for.
3. Any costs, expenses or charges incurred by persons not named on this policy
4. Poor visibility during a scuba dive following a period of adverse weather
5. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
SECTION N – HIJACK You are covered for: Up to £50 per full 24 hours, but up to a maximum of £500 for the duration of a Hijack. Limit of amount payable
The total amount payable in respect of each Insured person is £500 You are NOT covered:
1. If You or Your family or Your business connections have engaged in activities that could be
expected to increase the risk of Hijack
2. Anything that is excluded in the GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
TRAVEL DISRUPTION COVER This Policy will extend to include coverage for claims directly or indirectly caused by civil unrest
including riots, organised protests, arson and looting. Coverage will also extend to claims directly or indirectly caused by Volcanic Eruptions, Ash Clouds,
Earthquakes, Landslides, Floods, Tsunamis, atypical cyclonic storms or any other extraordinary
natural phenomenon. Excluding:
1. Claims that are recoverable from a common carrier or private transport provider, hotel or
other accommodation provider oyactivity provider.
2. Claims where You have accepted an alternative or other means of compensation.
3. Claims for the difference between the value of alternative or other means of compensation
You have accepted
4. Claims not supported by receipts and/or evidence of payment and rejection by the common
carrier or private transport provider, hotel or other accommodation provider or activity
provider.
5. Claims covered by a Tour Operator’s statutory obligation to provide You with compensation.
6. Claims covered by a Carrier’s statutory obligation to provide You with compensation.
7. Claims covered by ABTA, ATOL or other similar financial guarantee system All exclusions under SECTION F - CANCELLATION & CURTAILMENT, GENERAL EXCLUSIONS and
CONDITIONS will still apply. If you have an independently booked trip there is no cover under this policy for the failure of Your
independently arranged travel itinerary, should You require INDEPENDENT ITINERARY FAILURE
please review the additional policy benefits available with our Annual Multi Trip policies.

GENERAL EXCLUSIONS This policy does not insure under any Section of this Insurance:
1. Any consequence of War, Invasion, Act of Foreign Enemy, Hostilities (whether War be
declared or not), Civil War, Rebellion, Revolution, Insurrection or Military or Usurped Power
2. Claims of whatever nature directly or indirectly caused by
a. Ionising radiation or contamination by radioactivity from nuclear fuel or from any
waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel
b. The radioactive, toxic, explosive or other hazardous properties of any explosive
nuclear assembly or nuclear component of such assembly
c. Pressure waves caused by aircraft and other aerial devices travelling at sonic or
supersonic speeds
3. Death, injury, illness or disablement resulting from suicide or attempted suicide, wilful
exposure to danger (except in an attempt to save human life), a pre-existing psychiatric
condition, venereal infection or the influence of alcohol liquor or drugs (other than drugs
taken under medical supervision and not for the treatment of drug addiction).
4. Claims made as a result of bankruptcy, liquidation of any tour operator, travel agent or
carrier/ transportation company unless You have purchased the Independent Itinerary
Failure optional additional policy benefit.
5. Driving or riding as a passenger on a motorcycle, quad bike or any other mechanically
assisted cycle if You fail to wear a crash helmet on Your head, or You fail to wear other
safety equipment that is provided
6. Motor cycling as driver unless You are licensed to do so or are riding or driving a motor cycle
that does not exceed 125cc
7. Flying or other aerial activities unless specifically agreed with us, except whilst travelling in
an aircraft as a passenger (not as a pilot or aircrew nor for the purpose of undertaking any
trade or technical operation in or on the aircraft)
8. Participation in expeditions or crewing a vessel from one country to another unless
specifically agreed
9. Claims that are not notified to Us within 60 days of the incident occurring (except under
SECTION C – PERSONAL INJURY), or claims that are not submitted within 12 months of the
initial notification by way of a completed claim form and all supporting claim documents
10. Engaging in or practising for speed or time trials, sprints or racing of any kind
11. Manual Labour of any kind unless specifically agreed.
12. Engaging in Winter Sports
13. The failure of an independently booked travel itinerary. INDEPENDENT ITINERARY FAILURE
is available on our annual policies.
14. Any medical condition of any Insured for which at the time of effecting the insurance or
booking Your trip (whichever is later) that the Insured:
a. is already receiving medical treatment or is on a waiting list to receive medical
treatment unless the condition has been disclosed to Insurers and coverage has
been subsequently agreed.
b. has received a terminal prognosis
c. is intending to travel against the advice of a qualified medical practitioner
15. Claims made as a result of a trip or activity undertaken by an administrative order by Your
employer including armed forces, police, fire, nursing or ambulance services.
16. Any financial loss as a result of Your profession or a profession You are training towards
17. Any liability and / or loss that has been assumed by You under any agreement or contract
that You have made or entered into (such as a hire agreement or holiday booking
conditions)

18. Claims made for any losses which are not directly covered by the terms and conditions of
this policy (for example We will not pay for any loss of earnings if You are unable to return
to work after an injury or illness sustained while on a trip, or replacing locks if You lose Your
keys)
19. Any claim that results from You travelling to a country or area where the Foreign and
Commonwealth Office have advised You not to go.
CONDITIONS
1. Cooling off period: Provided that travel has not commenced and that there are no claims
under the policy, then the named Insured(s) can cancel this insurance within the first 14
days from the date of issue of the Schedule of insurance.
2. You must notify Underwriters through Dive Master Insurance Consultants Ltd as soon as
possible after any Bodily Injury, illness, incident or unemployment or on the discovery of any
loss or damage which may give rise to a claim under this policy. You must also inform Us if
You are aware of any writ, summons or impending prosecution. Every communication
relating to a claim must be sent to Us without delay.
3. Claims must be reported to Us within 60 days of the incident occurring by submitting an
online claim form found at www.divemasterinsurance.com, or by calling +44 (0) 1702
509094 or by sending an email to [email protected]. The claim form and all
supporting claim documents must then be submitted within 12 months of the initial
notification.
4. You, or any person acting for You, must not negotiate, admit or repudiate any claim without
our written consent.
5. The expense of supplying all certificates (including Police and medical certificates),
information, quotes, estimates of repair, and any other evidence which We may require will
be borne by You or Your legal representative. When a claim for Bodily Injury or sickness
occurs, We may request, and will pay for, an Insured Person to be medically examined on
behalf of Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s. We may also request, and will pay for, a post
mortem examination if any Insured Person dies.
6. You must, at all times, take reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and supervision of
Your Property. If it is lost or damaged whist in the care of a transport company, authority or
hotel You must report to them in writing, details of the loss or damage.
If Baggage is lost or damaged by an airline/handling agent then You must:
a. Obtain a Property Irregularity Report in the first instance but in the case of
irretrievably lost Luggage then the airline/ handling agent will have to confirm this in
writing.
b. Give formal written notice of the claim to the airline as soon as is practically possible
and retain a copy.
c. Keep all travel tickets and tags for submission to Us if a claim is to be made under
this policy. You should take all practicable steps to recover any articles lost or stolen.
7. If at the time of any incident which results in a claim under this policy, there is any other
insurance covering the same loss, damage, expense or liability We will pay only our rateable
share. This condition does not apply to: SECTION C - PERSONAL ACCIDENT and SECTION J -
HOSPITAL INCONVENIENCE BENEFIT.
8. Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s are entitled to take over and conduct in Your name the
defence or settlement of any Legal Action. We may also take proceedings at our own

expense and for our own benefit, but in Your name, to recover any payment We have made
under the policy to anyone else.
9. If an Insured Person or a person on whose state of health the holiday depends is undergoing
medical treatment at the time the balance of the holiday cost becomes due, such person
shall obtain from his/her usual medical practitioner a certificate confirming the Insured
Person’s fitness or ability to travel and the certificate must be retained for production in the
event of a claim.
10. Where You are receiving medical treatment as a hospital in-patient during the six months
preceding the holiday booking, it is a condition of this policy that You must obtain medical
advice in the form of a letter from Your doctor on the advisability of taking the holiday.
11. It is a condition precedent to cover that in the event of a loss the Insured will cooperate in
providing medical records to Insurers or Insurers appointed medical experts in order to
validate the claim.
12. A Person or company who is not covered by this policy has no right under the Contracts
(Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to insist on any terms of this policy being applied. This does
not affect any right or remedy of a third party that exists or is available under this act.
13. You must not act in a fraudulent manner. If You or anyone acting for You:
a. Make a claim under the policy knowing the claim to be false or fraudulently
exaggerated in any respect or;
b. Make a statement in support of a claim knowing the statement to be false in any
respect or;
c. Submit a document in support of a claim knowing the document to be forged or
false in any respect or;.
d. Make a claim in respect of any loss or damage caused by Your wilful act or with Your
involvement/collusion then;
i. We shall not pay the claim
ii. We shall not pay any other claim which has been made or will be made
under the policy
iii. We may at our option declare the policy void
iv. We shall be entitled to recover from You the amount of any claim already
paid under the policy
v. We shall not make any return of premium and
vi. We may inform the police or any other relevant authority of the
circumstances.
RESOLUTION OF DISAGREEMENTS If the Insured has any questions or concerns about this insurance or the handling of a claim, please
contact the intermediary named in the Schedule through whom this insurance was arranged.
COMPLAINTS The Insurer strives to provide an excellent service to all its customers but occasionally things can go
wrong. The Insurer takes all complaints seriously and endeavours to resolve all customers’ problems
promptly. If the Insured has a question or complaint about this insurance or the conduct of its
broker, they should contact that broker in the first instance. Alternatively, if the Insured wishes to contact the Insurer directly to make a formal complaint the
Insured should contact the Compliance Officer at Pembroke Managing Agency Limited.

under this policy but if the Insured is not an eligible complainant then the informal complaint
process ceases. A summary of the Insurer’s complaint handling procedure is available on request and will also be
provided to the Insured when acknowledging a complaint. About the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) Eligible complainants are:
a. private individuals; and
b. micro-enterprises.
c. ‘Micro-enterprises’ will be able to bring complaints to the ombudsman as long as they have
an annual turnover of under EUR2 million and fewer than ten (10) employees.
d. charities with an annual income of less than GBP1million; or
e. a trustee of a trust with net assets of less than GBP1million. The FOS will only consider a complaint if the Insured is an eligible complainant and if:

a. the Insurer has been given an opportunity to resolve it and
b. the Insurer has sent the Insured a final response letter and the Insured has referred its
complaint to the FOS within six (6) months of the Insurer’s final response letter or
c. the Insurer has not responded to the Insured’s complaint with a decision within eight (8)
weeks. If You were sold this product online or by other electronic means and within the European Union
(EU) You may refer Your complaint to the EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform. Upon
receipt of Your complaint the ODR will escalate Your complaint to Your local dispute resolution
service – this process is free and conducted entirely online. You can access the ODR platform on
http://ec.EUropa.EU/odr. Financial Services Compensation Scheme
Pembroke Managing Agency Limited is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. The
Insured may be entitled to compensation from the Scheme if the Insurer is unable to meet its
obligations under this contract. Entitlement to compensation under the Scheme depends on the type of business and circumstances
