Newtownsmith will be transformed with wonderful eye catching sculptures and displays made only of latex balloons and kite enthusiasts showing off their latest creations and stunt skills. The event will get people of all ages involved with opportunities for visitors to interact and learn balloon modelling and kite making through workshops hosted by experts in the craft throughout the day. Atmosphere Saturday, 1st August (Bank Holiday weekend) will be a riot of colour for the first ever Atmosphere event. This brand new event on the dlrevents calendar will be a celebration of Balloons, Kites and Flight.

Newtownsmith will be transformed with wonderful eye catching sculptures and displays made only of latex balloons and kite enthusiasts showing off their latest creations and stunt skills.

Who doesn't love balloons and kites? The clear skies of high summer by the sea is the perfect time of year to display them at their best.

Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 Temporary Closure of Johnstown Road, Cabinteely

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has made an order to temporarily close Johnstown Road between the junction with the N11 and the junction at the Old Bray Road, Cabinteely.

The purpose of the closure is to facilitate the Cabinteely Crossroads Céilí, 2015. The closure will be from: 17:00 hrs on Saturday, 25th July to 01:00 hrs on Sunday, 26th July 2015. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. The proposed diversion route between Brennanstown Road and the N11 Dual-Carriageway will be via the Old Bray Road and onto the N11, at the junction with Clonkeen Road and vice versa. A Traffic Management Plan will be in place and the diversion will be clearly signposted. Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 Temporary Closure of St. Peter’s Terrace, Glasthule

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has made an order to temporarily close St. Peter’s Terrace (Cul de Sac) Glasthule, from its junction with Adelaide Road from Monday, 13th July 2015 to Friday, 14th August 2015 both dates inclusive.

The purpose of the closure is to facilitate road restoration works and associated works. This work will be done on a phased basis which will allow local access to residents for the duration of the works.

The proposed diversion route will be signposted and further details will be available on our website – www.dlrcoco.ie

A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of these works.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has made an order to temporarily close Waltham Terrace (Blackrock) at its junction with Mount Merrion Avenue and Green Road to through traffic from Monday, 13th July 2015 to Friday, 2nd October 2015 both dates inclusive. The purpose of the closure is to facilitate road restoration works and associated works. This work will be done on a phased basis which will allow local access to residents for the full duration of the works. The proposed diversion route will be signposted and further details will be available on our website – www.dlrcoco.ie

dlr Bay 10km Road Race - (Bank Holiday weekend)

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has made an order to temporarily close the

roads listed below on Monday, 3rd August 2015 (Bank Holiday) in order to facilitate a

10km Road Race. The race will take the following route: Newtownsmith, Windsor Terrace, Queen’s Road, Crofton Road, Harbour Road, Dunleary Road, Longford Terrace, Seapoint Avenue, Seafield Avenue, Monkstown Road, Carrickbrennan Road, Mounttown Upper, Mounttown Lower, Glenageary Road Upper, Albert Road Upper, Albert Road, St. Catherine’s Road, Castle Park Road, Elton Park, Sandycove Road, Glasthule Road and Link Road. Newtownsmith, Windsor Terrace, Queen’s Road, Crofton Road and Harbour Road will be CLOSED from 06.00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. and the remaining roads will be subject to a rolling closure as the race progresses between 9.50 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. A Traffic Management Plan will be in place and diversions will be signposted. Temporary Closure of the following roads in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area ***

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are considering the temporary closure

of the following roads to facilitate the Ironman 70.3 Dublin Triathlon Event which will take place on Sunday, 9th August 2015 in the administrative area of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council: Section A: Marine Parade, Otranto Place and Sandycove Avenue West between 07:00 and 17:00hrs on Saturday, 8th August 2015. Section B: Windsor Terrace, Newtownsmith, Marine Parade, Otranto Place, Sandycove Avenue West and Sandycove Point between 04:00 and 11:00 hrs on Sunday, 9th August 2015. Section C: Newtownsmith, Queen’s Road, Crofton Road, Dunleary Road, Old Dunleary Road, Longford Terrace, Seapoint Avenue, Newtown Avenue, Temple Road, Frascati Road, and Rock Road between 06:30 and 10:30hrs on Sunday, 9th August 2015.

The purpose of the closure is to facilitate road re-surfacing works. A Traffic Management Plan will be in place and diversions will be signposted. Junction improvement works will commence at junction of Crinken Lane/ Dublin Road on Monday, 27th July to Friday, 31st July 2015. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. » Albany House, Shanganagh Road (near Ballybrack Village) **

Works will take place on Shanganagh Road to lay surface water drainage from Albany House to a surface water outfall on Saturday, 25th July 2015 for approximately 3 weeks.

A Stop / Go Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. » Enniskerry Road, Kilternan (at Golden Ball) **

Stop / Go Traffic Management Plan will be in operation at the junction of Enniskerry Road with Glenamuck Road near Cromlech Close - Kilternan, to facilitate services connection across the Enniskerry Road between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs on Tuesday, 4th August 2015 to Friday, 7th August 2015 inclusive. A Traffic Management Plan will be in place. » Wyattville Road, Loughlinstown *

Road Sweeping and Gully Cleaning will take place on Wyattville Road this Saturday, 25th July and Sunday, 26th July 2015 between 07:00 and 15:00 hrs. Traffic Management and slow moving crash cushion vehicle will be in operation throughout these works. # N11 – Stillorgan Road (at St. John of God’s) ***

Emergency footpath repairs will continue on the N11 - Stillorgan Road (at St John of God’s) southbound until Wednesday, 29th July 2015. The Bus Lane and Cycle Track will be CLOSED.

# Leopardstown Road – R113 *** Leopardstown Link Road and Roundabout Reconfiguration Scheme

Leopardstown Link Road OPENED to traffic on Wednesday, 22nd July 2015, providing a new access to South County Business Park, Leopardstown Race Course and Leopardstown Park Hospital. Work will now continue on the conversion of the Leopardstown Roundabout to a signalized junction and associated road works. The existing access to South County Business Park and Leopardstown Park Hospital off the roundabout will be CLOSED as will the existing access to Leopardstown Race Course. A Traffic Management Plan / (Diversions) will be in place. # Shanganagh Road Junction / Commons Road / River Road ***

Junction improvement works commenced on-site on Wednesday, 24th June 2015 at the junction of Shanganagh Road / Commons Road / River Road. A Stop /Go Traffic Management Plan will be in place to facilitate road crossings. Works will continue for approximately 6 weeks. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. # Dundrum By-Pass / Main Street Dundrum **

Construction works will take place on the Dundrum By-Pass at the junction of Dundrum By-Pass with Main Street, Dundrum to facilitate the laying of a gas main. Works will take place from Monday, 27th July 2015 to Friday, 31st July 2015 between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs.

A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. # Public Lighting Lantern and Bracket Upgrade Works **

Public lighting lantern and bracket upgrade works will take place on:

Braemor Road Ballinteer Avenue Dundrum By-Pass Dublin Road and Shanganagh Road

from Monday, 6th July 2015 until August 2015 between 10:00 to 16:00 hrs.

Frascati Road / Temple Hill Improvement Scheme, Blackrock ***

Construction works for the Frascati Road / Temple Hill Improvement Scheme will continue until August 2015. A new temporary road and junction layout will be in place to facilitate junction improvement works at Temple Hill / Newtownpark Avenue, Blackrock. This will be in place on Temple Hill between Monkstown Road and Newtownpark Avenue junctions. As part of this traffic management plan there will be “No Right Turn” movement allowed from Temple Hill onto Newtownpark Avenue for the duration of these works. A diversion route will be in place via Stradbrook Road, Dean’s Grange Road, Brookville Park and Benamore Road. The new layout and diversion routes will be fully signed for the duration of the construction works on this section of road and junction. It is expected that this new layout will remain in place until Friday, 31st July 2015. A Traffic Management Plan will be in place. Traffic disruption will be kept to a minimum with business as usual. Glenageary Road Upper / Glenageary Road Lower / Sallyglen Road Roundabout ***

Pedestrian crossing upgrading works will take place on Glenageary Road Upper adjacent to the roundabout from Monday, 6th July 2015 until end of July 2015 between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. Goatstown Road / Roebuck Road Junction, Goatstown **

Drainage works will take place on Goatstown Road/Roebuck Road Junction from Monday, 22nd June 2015 until end of July between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Cross Avenue, Blackrock *

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council will undertake a traffic management scheme at the eastern end of Cross Avenue, Blackrock on Monday, 13th July 2015. This includes the construction of an uncontrolled raised crossing and build outs for additional school warning lights. The works will continue for approximately 3 weeks. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation.
