The DGT Network is built on clusters of typical nodes (businesses) that exchange information-transactions. The following rules take place:

Every node can play one of three constantly changing roles: (1) Initiator – that initiates the transaction; (2) Leader –that counts the votes within the cluster; (3) Arbiter – a randomly chosen node from another cluster that verifies thevoting and adds the transaction to the Ledger.

DGT Network is comprised of software for decentralized nodes that are capable of connecting with each other overthe Internet. Each node is equipped with the necessary modules to exchange data, support users, and monitor thenetwork. Nodes are grouped into clusters (distinct ecosystems) that have their own subset of rules (permissions,transaction types, governance), but are part of the larger network;

Like other blockchain networks (Bitcoin, Ethereum), DGT is capable of maintaining a shared registry, but does it withconsideration to hierarchal structure and varying permission rights of different nodes. It could be said that DGT is adistributed network of a third generation that possesses advanced capabilities and inherits the best qualities of theblockchain systems that came before it;

DGT supports native cryptocurrency, as well as emission and exchange of secondary tokens. It has connections withother crypto-systems (such as Ethereum) through specialized gateways that allow for exchanging NFT and tokens ofother standards. The platform can work without tokens under specific parameters;

DGT is an open solution to building ecosystems and mechanisms of horizontal and vertical integration. It allows forjoining existing public networks, creating proprietary private networks, and building own corporate level blockchainsystems, as well as opening specialized clusters within the existing network.

• The storage system is based on DAG, like IOTA, Hedera Hashgraph, Orumesh,

DagCoin, Byteball, Nano. The DGT approach differs from these systems in that it

allows for voting in a federated network structure with configurable topology;

• The federative approach to voting is actively used by such solutions as Ripple,

Stellar. DGT brings transposes this ideology onto a horizontally scalable DAG and

provides dynamic topology through rotating cluster leaders. This ensures

network stability;

• The consortium-based consensus systems allows for flexibility, without

sacrificing speed and interoperability. For example, Hyperledger Fabric targets

private peer-to-peer networks and requires the formation of special sidechains,

while ICON’s solution uses a special Loopchain Fault Tolerance mechanism to

interact with other networks. Unlike such solutions, DGT implements a dynamic

topology on top of DAG, allowing for highly asynchronous network operation.
