DNA– REPAIRING PROTEIN MAY BE KEY TO PREVENTING RECURRENCE OF SOME CANCER -AND-
RETROVIRUS IN THE HUMAN GENOME IS ACTIVE IN PLURIPOTENT STEM CELL.

INTRDUCTIONIn the two news they talk about the importance to know more about the genetic.
It is incredible to think that just knowing a little bit of the composition of the genetic code we can repair some of the diseases, and probably cure the human before birth.

DNA– repairing protein may be key to preventing recurrence of some cancer
• The KLF8 is a protein that protect the tumor cell from drugs.
• Jihe Zhao one of the scientific that discoverd this protein said that all cell have a DNA repair but the KLF8 is overexpressed in a specific cancer such as breast and ovarian cancer.
• In the States are between 2.5 million and 2.7 million women who have breast cancer. This study is going to help a lot of people in the future, if they can find the way to inactivate the KLF8 protein
• The results showed that KLF8 can repair the DNA of the carcinogenic cell when they are attacked with drug that are used for the treatment of cancer such as doxorubicin that induce cell death

Student Opinion:
Is important to keep the investigation, because this let us know more about the tumoral cells and be
more close to finding the cure of cancer.

Retrovirus in the human genome is active in pluripotent stem cell
• The HERV-H is a retrovirus that are in human embryonic stem cell, and is one of the most abundantly expressed genes in pluripotent stem cell.
• This retrovirus codify a RNA, and also have the same sequence that use to reprogram skin cells into induced pluripotent stem cells.
• The Ips (pluripotent stem cell) became a new marker of pluripotency.
•The retrovirus infect a cell, when he goes inside of the genome into the chromosomal DNA. As a result, the cell treats the virus as part of his own genome and begins to make the proteins that the viral genome needs to be insert. In rare cases the viral genome goes inside the germinales cells and if the resulting embryo survive the retrovirus can become a part of a new genetic code.
Retrovirus in the human genome is active in pluripotent stem cell
• This chromosomal DNA retrovirus can potentiality the development of drugs that protect against the infections, also can make a better gene therapy treatments, and use this one like a marker to find specify anomaly of the human genome.

Student Opinionit would be nice to continue with the
investigation, because is a way to use the enemies of the human body in a way to
find a cure for a lot of diseases.
MEDICAL UTILITY DNA– repairing protein may be key to preventing
recurrence of some cancer
Discover the protein that allows cancer cells to reactivate again,
gives to the science an advantage to the cancer
treatment, allowing to make new techniques and maybe
avoid the treatment that can be worst for the patient that the
disease itself.
The use of a marker in human genome such as retroviruses, which are only in stem cells, allow the gene therapy be potentiated, and that this marker can clarify exactly where the anomaly of the genetic code. And can fix the error.
