Ruff Ryders Even tough rap groups know their history…

When the war broke out Theodore Roosevelt resigned from his position as Assistant Secretary to the Navy. He organized the first Volunteer Cavalry Regiment which earned the name

Rough Riders.

They were a mixed crew ranging from cowboys to college students and adventurers. They would join in battle with regular troops during the war.

***Volunteers…look in your text book to find another military group which inspired music.
