The “Fourth Annual HCRB Meet” in Dallas, North Carolina went extremely well. Those that took part were blessed with plenty of fresh air and sunshine. The GAMTRA Association, who host the Cotton Ginning Day’s Fair, once again welcomed HCRB Members to their annual weekend event with several expressing their thanks for the HCRB Group helping them make the CGD’s Fair a success again this year.
As in the previous years, by Wednesday, the HCRB Meet site was secure and taped off by me, Jim Peach and Larry Cook. By the Friday afternoon most HCRB Members with motor homes had arrived and set up their campsites. There was a steady flow of visitors to our area all day Friday while we got things set up for Saturday’s Carriage Show.
There was a steady flow of visitors coming to our area all morning on Saturday checking out the carriages and casting votes for their favorite carriage. All the Members present were busy answering questions and pointing out certain facets of their builds. Some Members took visitors for rides through the park in their carriages.
A “Special Thanks” to my wife Elaine and Jim’s wife Daphene, for handling the registration of the Members and the voting by the visitors. They did a beautiful job and really helped the show to be a success.
We took part in the “in park” parade on Saturday, after the judging was over. The visitors just could not get enough of our HCR’s and many followed the carriages back to our area after the parade to get a closer look at the carriages, I had several visitors express their admiration for the HCR’s there and had returned again this year especially to see the carriages being displayed at the fair.
After the parade, we gathered under the canopy of my trailer for the awards presentation. Following this we lined up our carriages for pictures
On the following pages are the pictures taken of the Meet and sent in for those that could not make it to enjoy. Some have captions and some do not...

Although there was an abundance of pictures taken, all well taken, because of space limitations, I have had to overlook some to close this issue. To the Members that could not make it to the HCRB Meet this year, I want you to know we missed you and hope to see you again at the 2014 HCRB Meet. To those that did make it to the 2013 Meet, Thank You!...Your dedication toward the HCR Hobby truly shows.
As Mike Chambers flew from the West coast two years ago to be with us for the HCRB Meet, Ray & Tina Puser flew from Arizona this year to take part in the event. Let us not forget our “Longest Distance Driven” Member, Butch Mauer, who joined us from Largo, Florida. Three very dedicated Members of the HCRB Group...
I hope that the pictures that were taken and brought to you in this issue brings reassurance that the carriages we build not only bring pleasure to ourselves but also to so many other folks... From Ray Puser and myself, good bye from Dallas, NC...
Until next time,
Enjoy,
Lee Thevenet
