Not all carriers and underwriters may be in the medical insurance space, but PPACA has undoubtedly impacted all group lines. The HealthCare Exchanges created as a result of PPACA represent a new distribution channel, creating opportunities for new products and new customers in all the lines represented at GUAA: health, life, disability, dental and vision. PPACA is a multifaceted and interconnected series of mandates, incentives, and penalties, all of which share the primary goal of increasing healthcare quality and access, while also bringing down its cost. As the policy debate surrounding PPACA rages on in the courts and in the Congress, the effects of the law are already being felt in the real world. Insurance underwriting is no exception. Our keynote speaker will help educate and guide us through the overall impact of PPACA on our industry and the economy as a whole.

This presentation will chronicle some true stories of how several race car drivers and coaches not only had the vision to make a decision, but the courage to follow it through. You will see how even the simplest of choices can impact the lives of many. You will finally understand why it is often said that “Vision without action is a daydream, but action without vision can be a nightmare.”
