IDENTIFIERS *CITY III
ABSTRACTCITY III is a computer-assisted simulation game in
which participants make decisions affecting the economic, governmental, and social conditions of a simulated urban area. In oneof its five city options (called Lothian) the CITY III simulationmodel focuses on a micro-view of an urban area by reducing the levelof aggregation. The population is reduced ten times so that eachpopulation unit equals 50 persons (instead of 500) and each unit oflinear measure equals one-third of a mile (instead of a mile). Thenumerical parameters for each decision-making sector in this smallscale version are presented in the form of a set of "Master Sheets"and input explanation charts. The "Master Sheets" and charts for theother four versions are contained in the Players' Manual. (JY)

*These requirements of equipment, materials, and labor are forresidence construction at QI = 100. But new housing can be builtat a lower quality index (as low:as QI = 40). Requirements diminishaccording to the equation: R = 1/200 S(100 + X) where .5 is theunits of equipment and material or the units of labor required tobuild a residence at QI = 100 and 14 is the units, required to build .
the same type of residence at QI = X. Using an RC1 as an example, the requirements at QI = 80 are 113, at QI = 60 are 100, and atQI = 40 are 80.
