Movies of Dominican landscapes and talks on the history and cul- ture of this country will be held during a reception Feb. 27 in the MSC, he said. A&M Dominican & Mexican Clubs will hold a dance at 8 p.m., Feb. 28 in the Ramada Inn. Latin American music will be played and tickets are $5 per couple, the president said. S. With veterinary medicine no longer restricted to doctoringfarm animals, but rather a pro- fession which has grown into many facets to meet mans needs, the symposium will be strictly academic. The first symposium in 1964 was held at Michigan State Uni- versity where curriculums and teaching techniques were dis- cussed. Clinical education was debated in the second symposium at the University of Georgia a year later. In 1966, the meeting returned to Michigan State where educa- tors looked at preprofessional veterinary education. GAINING IN stature, this years symposium is cooperative- ly sponsored by nine veterinary organizations. They include the Association of American Veter- inary Medical Colleges, AVMA Council on Education, AVMA Council on Research, the Ameri- can Board of Veterinary Public Health, the American Board of Veterinary Radiology, the Ameri- can Board of Veterinary Toxicol- ogy, The American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine, the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists, and the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Sessions are set in the Memor- ial Student Center March 24-25. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., said coordinator Dr. William W. Bay. A&M Department To Host National Vet Medicine Meet

Texas A&M will host the fourth Symposium on Veterinary Medi­cal Education next month, a time when educators will present their views on graduate veterinary education in the U. S.

With veterinary medicine no longer restricted to ‘doctoring’ farm animals, but rather a pro­fession which has grown into many facets to meet man’s needs, the symposium will be strictly academic.

The first symposium in 1964 was held at Michigan State Uni­versity where curriculums and teaching techniques were dis­cussed. Clinical education was debated in the second symposium at the University of Georgia a year later.

In 1966, the meeting returned to Michigan State where educa­tors looked at preprofessional veterinary education.

GAINING IN stature, this year’s symposium is cooperative­ly sponsored by nine veterinary organizations. They include the Association of American Veter­inary Medical Colleges, AVMA Council on Education, AVMA Council on Research, the Ameri­can Board of Veterinary Public Health, the American Board of Veterinary Radiology, the Ameri­can Board of Veterinary Toxicol­ogy, The American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine, the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists, and the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Sessions are set in the Memor­ial Student Center March 24-25. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., said coordinator Dr. William W. Bay.

KEYNOTER for the two-day meeting is Dr. Hilliard Jason, director, Office of Medical Edu­cation, Research and Develop­

ment, College of Human Medi­cine, Michigan State University.

Other major speakers and their topics are Dr. Vincent E. Price, National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Md., “Extrapolations from Medical Education to Vet­erinary Medical Education;” Dr. Ivan L. Bennett, Science and

Technology, Executive Office of the President, Washington, D. C., “Postdoctoral Medical Education in the Future,” and Dr. George Christensen, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Iowa State University, “The Future of Post­doctoral Education in Veterinary Medical Education.”

Grad Lectures Slated For Science Topics

Three graduate lectures, all sci­entific, are scheduled this week.

The Physics Department will host a Wednesday lecture en­titled “The Hanlee Effect In 2’P Helium” by Dr. Edward Fry, physics professor at the Univer­sity of Michigan. The talk is set for 4 p.m. in Room 146 of the Physics Building.

Dr. Garland Ross Marshall, as­sistant professor of Physiology and biophysics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, will lecture at 4 p.m. Thursday in Room 114, Herman Heep Building. Topic for the program, sponsored by the Bio­chemistry and Biophysics De­partment, is “Confirmation of Peptide Hormones: New Ap­proaches.”

“Avian Cytogenetics” is the subject for a 4 p.m. Friday lec­ture by Dr. R. N. Shoffer, pro­fessor of animal sciences at the University of Minnesota. The lecture, sponsored by the Poultry Science Department, will be con­ducted in Room 104, Agricultural Building.
