43 So the Lord gave to Israel all the land of
which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it
and dwelt in it. 44 The Lord gave them rest all around, according to all
that He had sworn to their fathers.

them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into

Two major divisions: Conquest (the conquest of Canaan - chapters 1 - 12) and Inheritance (the division of the land - chapters 13 - 24).
Theme: the fulfillment of the Abrahamic Land Promise (cf. Gen. 12:7; 15:18-21; Josh. 1:1-4; 21:43-45).
The lesson: "Serve the Lord and receive His Promises." (1:5-9; 6:1-20; 14:5-14; 24:13-18; Judges 2:7-10).
