This week I would like you to focus on understanding a map. On the sheet below you will see a face created out of bean bags, cones and quoits. Try to create your own face using equipment in your house and garden. To keep fit run to collect one item at a time and place correctly before collecting your second item. Draw your own map with a key to show where everything is positioned. The numbers show the order to collect each object. *Challenge* Ask an adult to look at your map and recreate the face you designed in the correct order.

The first modern automobile was built in 1886 by German inventor Carl Benz.

Making a Rain stick
You will need:
a cardboard tube. light cardboard or card masking tape scissors plain scrap paper, cut into circles x2 rice felt tip pens/ paint/ glitter/ stickers funnel
Instructions:
Step 1: Fold the circle of paper around one end of the tube. Step 2: Use the masking tape to attach the paper around the end of the tube so that it is secure. Step 3: Tape the strips of the light cardboard together so that they are the length of the tube. I made the strips 1 inch wide because the inner diameter of the tube is 1½ inches. This left room all the way around the cardboard for the rice to move around. Step 4: Accordion fold the cardboard so that will all fit into the tube. Put it all into the tube. Step 5: Take the funnel and stick it into open end of the tube. Pour the rice into the funnel and then shake it into the tube. Step 6: Use another circle of paper to close off the open end of the tube. Now you are done with the main part of the rain stick. Step 7: Now have fun decorating your rain stick!
