A huge Thank You to Gladyce & Kathy who make

the coffee, clean up, check our supplies and see to

it that we have a meeting place!!!

As I write this letter to all my very good friends that I have shared some of the best moments of my life with, there is not enough paper in the world for me to list them all. I will start with thanking Vern Pearson and his lovely wife Dotty for keeping all you members up to date with the minutes of each meeting. Thanks Marilyn Pringle for letting all the “under the weather” people know we care about them. Thanks to Kitsy for keeping all the bills paid and watching over our finances. I want to thank Sam White for stepping up to be Vice President to fill that vacancy. Margaret Rambo many thanks for selling the 50/25/25 tickets I know we had at least one $100.00 meeting. When I look at the list of tours that we had I want to say thank you, to Victor for organizing the tours. Some of the highlights for me were the radio collection in March, Dutch Bros. in April thanks to Dotty, the House of Mystery was great lead by Dennis. The Lavender tour that Jacqui put together took me to places I didn't know were there. We all enjoyed Reid's home for those Costco Hot Dogs and the many dishes you all brought. Gloria's Pupusas are always something to look forward to. Dave Williams thank you for showing us the fall col-ors. It was very heart warming as a president to see the 3 clubs getting together at the Rambo’s for the Gymkhana. I hope that we can do that every year. I would also like to thank my wife for 10 years of doing the Manifold News and reporting to MAFCA our news. As I close this letter I hope that you all had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Don't Forget the Dairy Queen on the 3rd of January. Dr. Car B. Rator -Alias Jerry Mathern President, Rogue Valley A's 2014

Mary Ann’s mother passed away and members came forth to support her through her grief. And then when Jim was diagnosed with Parkinson’s again members held both Jim and Mary Ann up in support with lots of prayers and just being there for them. Model A meeting at the Royal Mobile Estates Clubhouse

Get Your Model “A” Out and About!

W hen we first moved to Jacksonville in 1984, we went to the local State Farm Insurance office to switch over our car insurance. The office was on 3rd Street, near the Love House. The agent was Rafe Anders. I was pleased to hear that he was also a car guy, and he owned a Model A truck as well as other vintage cars.

Sadly, Rafe passed away from cancer in 1992 when he was only 45 years old, leaving his wife Mary and sons behind. They’ve since moved out of the area. Today at the So. Oregon Historical Society, I was looking for a photo of the old brick factory in Jacksonville, going through a box of old photos. And this one caught my eye! It’s Mary and Rafe Anders in 1976 doing a photo shoot with their Model A pickup. Thought you’d get a smile out of looking at it. Article from Rick Black. Photo from the SOHS photo collection.
