If removed, the drive is destroyed. 2 1 TB, 32MB Cache, SATA 3Gbit/s WD Caviar Green Hard Drive which utilises a reduced power consumption feature. 3 Insulating foam for the hard drives power board and connectors. 4 Rubberised drive mounts that also act as minor shock absorbers. This allows the actuator arm to move rapidly across the platters. c REƒD/WRITE HEƒDS There is one set of read/write heads for each side of each platter located at the ends of the actuator arm. Each head skims along the platter at just a few microns above the surface. d LOƒD/UNLOƒD RƒMP When the drive is not in use the read/write heads are parked on this ramp to protect the platters and drive heads from vibration and shock damage.
