...a proud partner in the McGill University Health Centre
someday isNOW
This will be the hospital that we turn to for trusted medical assistance. But what’s more, it’s the hospital our children and their children will come to know and embrace in their most vulnerable moments: it’s where their lives may be saved; where their children may be born; where their pivotal moments may be faced. It is our legacy
to them of what healthcare should be – the healthcare they deserve.
Every detail has been meticulously considered in the creation of the new Glen Campus in order to create a state-of-the-art facility that will set
the global standard for healthcare. Clinicians and researchers will benefit significantly from the interconnected hospitals all located
on one site: the Royal Victoria Hospital, the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the Montreal Chest Institute, the Shriners Hospital for Children, the Comprehensive Cancer Centre, and the Research Institute – promoting higher efficiencies in the transfer of research and directly impacting the quality of patient care.
We invite every one of you to monitor the progress of the construction yourselves, by going online at royalvic.com.
Who best to explain the new hospital than those who have shaped the Royal Vic that we have always known and loved? On the pages that follow, take note of the Royal Vic staff and Foundation Board Members showing off elements of the New Vic.
Here is a quick sample of the projects you’ve helped support …

In September 2008, our Board officially adopted the Donor Bill of Rights. The 10 principles outlined in the Donor Bill of Rights
define ethical practices on how we raise money, manage funds, and assure transparent governance of the contributions entrusted to us by our donors.
I.To be informed of the organization’s mission, of
the way the organization intends touse donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
II.To be informed of the identity of those serving
on the organization’s governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgement
in its stewardship responsibilities.
III.To have access to the organization’s
most recent financial statements.
IV.To be assured their gifts will be used forthe purposes for which they were given.
V.To receive appropriate
acknowledgement and recognition.
VI.To be assured that information about
their donations is handled with respect and withconfidentiality to the extent provided by law.
VII.To expect that all relationships with
individuals representing organizations of interestto the donor will be professional in nature.
VIII.To be informed whether those seeking
donations are volunteers, employees of theorganization or hired solicitors.
IX.To have the opportunity for their
names to be deleted from mailing lists thatan organization may intend to share.
X.To feel free to ask questions when making
a donation and to receive prompt, truthful andforthright answers.
A Donor Bill of RightsPHILANTHROPY is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradi-tion of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To assure that phi-lanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors andprospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations andcauses they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights:
