/ Meeting the donor– our impressionDonor Stone is as close to a true Danish Viking as you can get. Both from appearance; he is a tall muscular guy with semi-long blond hair, a big beard and clear blue eyes. But he also lives quite a lot like a Viking. One of his passions is the martial arts called “Viking Reenactment” where he trains as a Viking. The mem-bers of the club do “show fights” at different events for example at Viking museums to display the Viking history. In addition, he is a big nature lover. As a child he dreamt of becoming a geologist and studied geol-ogy for 2 years until he realised that he would rather be a teacher and share his love of nature and science to children in this way.

Stone also has a great creative urge. He loves to make things with his hands and always in recycled material as for example wood and leather. He makes everything from bags and purses to shelves and desks. Stone uses recycled material for a reason. Since he was four years old his father took him to the recycling centre. That is also the reason why Stone loves recycled goods. He loves to hunt down old treasures, fix them up and sell them again. He says that he is a bit of a hawker. But Stone is not only cre-ative with his hands. He also loves being create with pots and pans where he conjures everything from the good solid meal to fine dining gourmet dishes – al-ways with good raw materials. Stone is musical as well. He plays both the harmonica, the drums, the guitar, the didgeridoo and he sings. He works out every morning, he cycles, and he does paddle board-ing.

As a person Stone is always happy and smiling. “I am an optimistic hedonist,” he says with a smile. But he is also a bit of a philosopher. He wonders about life and puts a lot of thought into what he does and how he spends his time. He is always ready to help other people. He has always been told that his father was the kind of man who always helped other people with reconstructions of houses etc. This has inspired Stone to be the same kind of man and it gives him a good

feeling when he helps other people. On the other hand, it bothers him if he cannot help. He has a big heart.

Family is incredibly important to Stone. He has two brothers, a sister and two nieces who are 3 and 10 years old and with whom he is very close. Stone has been like a substitute father for his oldest niece be-cause her father has not been very present in her life. The nieces love to go the Viking markets with him and they show everybody very proudly that their uncle “Viking Stone” has a picture of them in his mobile cover. Stone loves spending time with them too.

Recently he built them a playhouse, which they made together out of wood from an old shed. In return, the nieces taught him how to do finger knitting. The nieces often make him ”day plans” with activities to do together. The last one hangs on his wall at home and consisted of jumping on the trampoline, make a fire, a cycling trip and make drawings. Stone loves his nieces very much and he wants to be a good role model to them. He would like to have his own nuclear family that gathers the entire family together with his siblings and their children. He dreams of having a big family to grow old with and be the old and cool grand pa who does bungee jumping.

Stone looks like the Viking version of Ryan Gosling. He has semi-long blonde hair, a big beard, steel blue clear eyes and a gorgeous and toned upper body, strong arms and big hands.

Describe your personalityI live life with a zest, I am an optimistic hedonist, who wants to enjoy life. I am helpful, positive, outgoing and detail oriented. I am also sarcastic, ironic and re-alistic. I am outgoing but I also enjoy when it’s quiet. I reflect upon many things, I am a bit philosophic and I laugh a lot.

Describe your weaknessesSometimes I tend to forget myself and divert if peo-ple around talk too much. Without my friends I lose my energy. I tend to talk a lot from time to time.

What are you most proud of and why?I am most proud of how I affect other people’s moods. Because I meet everybody with minimum a smile, I always feel capable of improving people’s every day lives just a little bit. I am also proud of living off of nature and passing that along to my nieces.

Describe your fondest childhood memory When me and my sister and brother built an igloo. It took an entire afternoon, but the result was incred-ible to be part of. Another memory is that my mom and dad collected milk cartons so that my sister and I could make a house out of them.

Describe some of your best experiences Camping trip with my dad, sister and brother and I made a big campfire. I have been able to do that from a very young age.

What did you dream of becoming as a child?As a child, I dreamt of knowing everything about the world and to help people. Since I was 9 years old, I have wanted to be a geologist or a social worker. I also dreamt of traveling the world.

Describe your relationship with your family?My relationship with my family is very open and one where I can talk to my mom, my sister and brothers

about everything. It’s a family where we help each other.

What does your family mean to you?My family means everything to me. I have 3 lovely siblings and a great mother. They are like my safe haven to come home to and a great and comforting community where we can really be ourselves and laugh and cry together. I share a lot with my family and they share with me as well. Family is the back-bone to your upbringing and I look very much forward to creating my own some day.

What does friendship mean to you?Without friendship the world would be a pale, sad and lonely place. That you have a friend to talk to everything about really means a lot to me. When it all comes down to it all friendships are built on love.

What did you like best about going to school?The best parts about school was the subjects where you could explore the world, practical work and experience learning, be-coming wiser and getting your questions answered. To be able to do this with my friends was amazing. My favorite subjects were arts and crafts, physics, music and biology.

What educations have you started?High school, geology and teacher.

What educations have you completed?High school with a focus on math, physics and chemistry and I am completing my education as a teacher now.

Did you serve in the military? I did my military service for 4 months in the air Force. I was a private.

Work history?I have experience with many things.Growing up in a family of craftsmen, I knew that you must work to get food on the table. So I have worked with sorting empty cans and bottles at the supermarket, as a dishwash-er, cashier, shop manager, street vendor, team leader, sales manager, demolitionist, freelance salesman, model, selling hotdogs, at a gas station and as a temp pedagogue.

What is your career goal?The goal of my career is to be able to share my knowledge and teach the youth’s new generations that there’s always two sides of a story. I would love to be the principal at a creative boarding school or to own my own little carpenter business.
