When: Saturday, March 4, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm Who: Teachers, potential coaches, and volunteers interested in finding out more about Robotics in the classroom and FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competitions Instructor: Beth Hanning, STEM Education Outreach Director, Doolittle Institute, Fort Walton Beach, FL Cost: Free (Funded by Air Force Research Lab/Munitions Group & Gulf Power) Where: University of West Florida, Pensacola, Building 4, Room 102 This Robotics Coach Academy workshop is a 2-part course and is based on Florida State Standards. Part I: Introduction to EV3 Robotics: Teachers will learn to control motors and program EV3 robots using sensors. Part II: Mission Design for Robotics Competitions: Teachers will learn how to guide students in strategic planning, problem analysis, and mission design for robotics competition. Participants receive a Teacher Planning Guide and Student Workbook with resources that teach students to more independently step through the process of working as a team to create their own robotics solutions.
