It takes a different kind of

energy to generate hope.

At Chevron, we’ve always known the energy

business is about more than oil and gas. It’s

about human energy—the extraordinary power

of people working together. Across the globe,

we’re partnering with community organizations

to create new opportunities. And new hope.

For over 20 years, Chevron has been a partner

of the Taylor Family Foundation, providing initial

funding for Camp Arroyo. And we continue this

tradition of partnership as the Sustainability

Presenting Sponsor at Camp Arroyo. Because

when we all use our energy to help others, the

possibilities are endless. To learn more about our

Twenty Years of Giving, Ten Years of Camp:

1990-2010

Let’s help

these kids!

We’ll RaiseMoney!

1990Barry & Elaine Taylor hold a fundraiser to benefit children & families suffering with HIV/AIDS. There are approximately 1,000 Bay Area children with HIV/AIDS at this time.

$56,000 was raised at the first fundraiser to help support HIV/AIDS families

Day in the Park becomes an

annual event

The Taylor Family

Foundation is formed.

TTFF helps support

programs at Children’s Hospital, Oakland & UCSF

1996 – 1999TTFF’s primary focus is funding clinical programs, social programs, holiday events, activity days and summer camp for HIV/AIDS children. TTFF redefines their niche when they discover that summer camp programs are desperately needed.

In 1996 After funding a summer camp for children with HIV/AIDS, TTFF decides to build their own camp

In 1997, with the help of East Bay Regional Park District, TTFF finds land and a partner to build

a state of the art “green” camp

Groundbreaks in 1997 at the future

home of TTFF’s Camp Arroyo2000

Camp opens. The total number of HIV/AIDS children has dropped to 300, so Camp Arroyo welcomes children with a variety of orphan diseases and illnesses lesser known to the greater community.

Camp sleeps 144 and includes aswimming pool, dining hall & ropes

course

By 2000, autism rates have increased by 200%.

By 2003, TTFF is hosting three

autism camps

2010TTFF celebrates 10 years of Camp Arroyo. TTFF and TTFF’s Camp Arroyo have served more than 40,000 children since opening

its doors, providing respite to nearly 70,000 parents at no cost to these families.

2002 - 2008Additional camp buildings are constructed; a bocce court, chalk garden and the Dave Matthews Band Outdoor outdoor amphitheater with camp fire circle is built.
