Ann Adams recently joined the faculty at The University of North Florida where she teaches applied oboe and chamber music. In addition, she is on the music faculty at LaVilla School of the Arts as a band director. Dr. Adams is an active recitalist and clinician and has appeared as a soloist with the Stetson University Wind Ensemble, the Bach Festival Orchestra of Winter Park, the Florida State University Wind Orchestra, and the Bach Festival Society of Kalamazoo. She is a frequent performer with various orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout central Florida. Dr. Adams has participated in the French Oboe Repertoire classes with Wayne Rapier and John DeLancie. She is an active member of the International Double Reed Society. She has performed recitals for IDRS Conferences in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Melbourne, Australia, Muncie, Indiana, and Birmingham, England.

In addition, as a Baroque oboist, Dr. Adams has participated in the Baroque Performance Institute at Oberlin College and the Western Baroque Festival in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Adams taught oboe, chamber music, and music education at Stetson University for twenty-five years.

Lee Goodhew Romm is Professor of Bassoon at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. Active as a performer and clinician, she can regularly be heard in solo, chamber and orchestral venues. She holds the John S. and Marybeth Ostrom Chair in the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, where she is principal bassoon and has served on the Board of Directors. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Michigan State University, her M.M. from Southern Methodist University and B.M. from the University of North Texas where she was the recipient of the Presser Award. Her major teachers include Edgar Kirk, Will Roberts, Louis Skinner, Maestro Charles Bruck, and Maestro Anshel Brusilow.

Lee hosted IDRS 2007 in Ithaca, NY. She loves playing the baroque bassoon, and is a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher with a special interest in Yoga for the Artist. She teaches at Sunrise Yoga Center in Ithaca, NY and regularly presents at the Healthy Musician Workshop.

The WorkshopThe Double Reed Boot Camp 2014 at The University of North Florida is an intense weeklong event for serious double reed students, focusing on the fundamental principles of double reed performance. This workshop will place an emphasis on specialized classes in reed-making techniques, including masterclasses and performance classes with a focus on audition preparation, practice techniques, etudes, orchestral excerpts, solo literature, chamber music, early music, and yoga for musicians. Each participant will be assigned repertoire to prepare prior to the workshop.

The balance of the tuition will be due at registration. Tuition for the workshop is $525, which includes room and board. Students living in the area may commute and pay a reduced fee of $425, which includes tuition, lunches and dinners. Checks should be made payable to: The Double Reed Boot Camp at UNF. Reed making kits must be purchased separately.

Residence and FoodParticipants will be housed in the University of North Florida residence halls, eat in the student dining hall and have access to all campus recreational facilities. Counselors will stay in the dorms with the participants.
