Elmfield remains open and accessible to those who would like to find out more about the Christian faith. The teachings of Christianity are based on God’s act of love for an errant human race. We are called to love God first and then our neighbour as ourselves. These two commands sum up the prescription for a healthy, caring, united and compassionate society that is willing to consider others better than themselves. But even more important than this is the ultimate question of where our destiny lies. As we shall certainly have to account for the way we live our lives on earth, it is important to find assurance about where we will end up. God has provided the way for acceptance and forgiveness through his son Jesus Christ. It has almost become a taboo to talk about this good news. However, we at Elmfield desire to share with you about this greatest treasure in life that guarantees eternal life. Salvation is a gift offered free, but that is not cheap. Our hurting world needs to hear about the solution to its problems. We believe that in people’s quest for meaning in life, many will find answers by exploring teachings of the Christian faith in a non- threatening and welcoming atmosphere. It is only a right relationship with God that will ultimately bring true peace and a transformed life which brings peace with God and fellow human beings. Dear friends, We, at Elmfield, enjoy playing host to people f r o m t h e l o c a l community. We aim to model harmonious living in a multi-cultural society. Harrow today reflects the new face of Britain that is increasingly becoming more diverse, perhaps, than it has ever been. What can make people with diverse cultures, languages, culinary p r e f e r e n c e s a n d religious persuasions develop trust for each other or even spend time relaxing together? It begins by accepting and appreciating each other. By providing a venue for people to use for social functions and also avai l ing mid-week activities that suit young and old alike we hope that friendships in the local community can be enhanced by giving people a chance to meet. Stepping out of cultural safe havens can be daunting, but hopefully many will be courageous enough to intentionally promote inclusive rather e x c l u s i v e s o c i a l interactions. These can enhance peaceful co-existence for the future of this great nation. Peter Oyugi, Senior Leader, Elmfield Church.

This is a great opportunity to watch a fireworks display and meet people. There will be some fun activities for the whole family to take part in before the display starts.

The Longfield First School Hall

is also within easy reach for little children who find no pleasure in the noise of the fireworks.

Tickets are available on weekdays from the Elmfield Church Office between 9am and 1pm at 89 Imperial Drive.
