AT HOME WITH ORI

by Gladys McCoy

I hope everyone is enjoying his or her summer. It is pretty warm here, but we have had some blessed rain and everything is so green and lush. The flowers are beautiful too.

Joyce and I just got back from Santa Cruz, California; we went out for the Dowsing Conference. We had a wonderful time even though we were busy with talks and teaching most of the time. We still got to see so many friends from the past and we enjoyed making new ones. It was really nice to meet and greet so many ORI members there. Thanks for your loving support. The Redwood trees welcomed us with their loving energy and filled us with joy. Now it’s work, work, work. Catch up work is the worst!

We are getting lots of sign ups for the Power Of Thought School, September 12-15 2014. It is going to be an awesome affair. The quality of teachers ORI attracts is amazing, and this group is very powerful. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with these teachers and to learn from them.

I encourage you to bring a friend to share your room cost and to hash over the information you’ve learned together. Heck, bring 2 friends with you and you’ll all get 20% off tuition fees. (That’s like getting one day free) You will be able to experience the Healing Circle on Friday night, not only with the Tuesday night group, but also with over 100 others in the room. It is powerful and we have had some amazing healings happen for people at these groups. Also, the healing hands of ORI will be available to do private sessions with those who wish to receive some hands on healing. Hope to see you in September!

I would like to say a few words about the Tuesday Healing

! 2

Meditation Group. We have the most heart-centered people who come to send out loving healing to others, and they are dedicated to doing this service for others. The group varies in size from week to week, but most nights we have at least 25-35 attendees. We very often have help from the other side in the form of Harold McCoy, who brings in new information for us to use in the healing work. Some of the participants have never met Harold, yet they have read his book and now seem to have a strong connection with him. They do the work in the same or similar manner, with a personal twist. (We hear the same stories from others who have read the book and they say Harold is helping them do the work) Martha Moore Stevens, Joe Smith and Pam Curry also come in from the other side with their special help! The circle gets pretty crowded with all the helpers we have. It sure keeps life interesting on Tuesday night. Please send us the name, age and resolution or issue you want help with. We will add your request to the circle. All we ask of you is to update us every 3 weeks.

I have asked before and will keep bugging you; send us updates that we can publish in the journal! (We never use names) It is very encouraging to others to read about a success. Also we like to hear how ORI has impacted your life. We hear stories all the time about how much better life is physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually for people who are a part of ORI. We would love to add the letters section back in the journal. Also, we need articles for the journal. Send them in! Anything you believe would be beneficial for the members. Let us know how we can better serve you, the member.

Jack Kayser has assumed the scientific advisors post for ORI and he has been doing a lot of work with brain wave levels during healing meditation. Soon he will connect two people up at the same time, one sending out healing and the other receiving.

All of these projects will be published in the journal. He will

! 3

also have some of our brain wave equipment set up at the school in September for you to experience. Who knows, you may be one of those we document for the journal!

Thanks to Ed Stillman for all the years he has dedicated to ORI as the scientific advisor, he is in the process of writing his book on water dowsing and other scientific information. We are anxiously awaiting the opportunity to read it.

We received the Chinese version of Harold’s book a month ago and it is wonderful! The publisher used all the family pictures. My grandchildren are excited and think they are famous in China now. (Ha ha) We are receiving healing requests, memberships and questions from China now. Thank goodness we have a translator on the computer. I am sure Harold is proud that his work is still available for people to learn and practice. We are happy and proud that we could keep Harold’s voice in the book when it was written, so people can feel his loving, caring energy as they read his words.

Sending out much love, light, blessings and miracles to you all, and lots of hugs,

Till I see you in September! Gladys

Adjusting for Depression, and How to Ask Spirit The Right Questions, How to Decrease Violence, and Techniques to Improve the Power of the Mind, are just some of the popular trending topics these days and if you are so lucky to attend the ORI Power of Thought School this September, you will discover these subjects will be thoroughly covered in Hands On Workshops.

Millions of people, spend thousands of dollars to learn about the above topics. Many travel thousands of miles and repeat visits in large crowded cities to find answers and still wonder why there is anger, disease, or wonder why dowsing doesn’t work for them all of the time.

I am guilty of this and to understand this, I guess we must understand human nature. Our bodies and minds are similar to an automobile. We just need a good tune up every so often. Most of the articles covered in this journal will give you some insight into the gifted speakers who will be presenting this year. I encourage you to check your spark plugs and if you are in need of a tune up, this is the place to be for a fraction of the cost of other popular symposiums. Also, Springdale is a quiet small town. We have clean air, and usually clear roads for a good test drive. So come visit! My family recently hosted a couch surfer from Malaysia, who was visiting for his well being maintenance. Go to www.couchsurfer.com if you desire an alternative sleeping arrangement.

Part of my daily maintenance is prayer, reading of scripture, a positive book and finding twenty minutes to meditate or to

! 5

make housework into my daily meditation. Harold (founder of ORI) insisted that meditation was his single most important thing to do, in his day.

Thanks to Gladys and her wonderful library, she suggested I read, Hiring the Heavens by Jean Slatter. A practical Guide to Developing Working Relationships with the Spirits of Creation. Jean starts out by saying how she couldn’t imagine how her ideas could fill a book – they all seemed too simple! Alas, Ms. Slater has a thriving business helping others as a speaker, author and health practitioner.

This is exactly the same reason we have ORI and The Power of Thought School. Even though we have been taught to dowse many times, to just let go and get out of the way; even the best and brightest, like Jean Slatter admits in her foreword of her book that her irreverence and apprehension almost got the best of her. I think what Harold and our upcoming gifted speakers desire for us all, is for each of us to experience a pivotal moment. Past attendees will swear that these emotional experiences will definitely occur. We will be taught again and again, to be just as fervent in our request as in our result, when we dowse; and of course to be fervent in our gratitude.

Harold wanted for us to have evidence that we are guided from a higher source and not to dismiss results as a coincidence. The reason we are members of ORI, and enjoy attending annual conferences, is that we all share a goal, for our skepticism to give way to enthusiasm. We share the common goal of becoming better listeners, to pay attention to the incredible interplay of spirit and our own intellect. When we realize we have the Power of the Heavens behind us, that’s when dowsing works. That’s when our engine will just simply Purrrrr or ROAR, (whichever blows your skirt).

WORD POWER [excerpted from “God Within: The Day God’s

Train Stopped”]

by Patti Conklin, Ph.D.

In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. ~ John 1:1

I believe that when the universe began, words did not exist. A cacophony of tones, which we now identify as frequency, echoed throughout the universe, and they were both chaotic and highly ordered. Long, long ago, at the time of the very first spark, the very first light, all souls existed in spirit form, outside of judgment and ego. They didn't speak. They didn't hear. They simply were.

So how did we morph into this dense flesh?

That's simple, and yet very complicated. As our souls evolved, we began to use words to express ourselves, and we started to respond emotionally to our circumstances. A word is such a small, insignificant thing, and yet

it's so much more. It represents emotion, and emotion is the cornerstone of our physical existence.

In a nutshell, we became conditional.

• We're happy when someone tells us we're accomplished.

• We're sad when someone tells us we've failed.

So what's unconditional?

• No matter what happens, no matter what you might say or do to me, I'll love you. Let the oceans rise, let the lightning fall and strike and blast, and still I'll hold you dear. Forever. No matter what.

• Caring for the weak, or sick, regardless if they can do

! 7

something in return. Doing it regardless of whether they deserve it or not.

But why are some things conditional? I believe they have a judgment, or an ego, attached to them. Words allow emotions—conditional, unconditional, loving and fearing—to manifest. Think of it this way: the words we use to express judgment affect the ultra-fast vibration of the spirit form. But those vibrations slow and solidify when we dwell within the judgment and ego, and words stand at the heart. This means that, long ago, spirits evolved into solid physical forms, thus marking the beginning of life as we know it.

And the Word was made flesh. ~ John 1:14

So now we understand how words and emotions work together to evolve us into physical beings, but let's explore the idea more. Imagine a whisper of light and tone, floating with no form, an essence of purity. It evolves the ability to think, to reason, to love and fear, and those things are orchestrated by words. Conditional words transform our souls into a physical form. They're dense, they're heavy, and at that very instant, the spirit becomes a conditional being. It has shed its unconditional self like water from a leaf, and it has taken conditional form. Words have a simple yet profound effect on everyone’s life, and I believe there are no exceptions.

~ Perception Is Everything

God never gave us a meaning, and there is no such thing as anger, love, jealousy, happiness, hatred, or joy. They're illusions. We created them to assign meaning to our lives, to make up a grand little story in our heads, at the time of any given event. They're words used to qualify what we are experiencing.

Take away our ability to speak, to think, and what if we were then to watch a sunrise—oranges splashed against a bluish-purple sky, with a hint of white to fray the edges. This sunrise is simply that: a sunrise. It's a natural event, prompted by natural forces, which produce a natural result. It's not positive, not negative; it's simply a sunrise.

! 8

Two different people will invariably see this differently. For me it is a stunning, gorgeous thing, and I may ooh and ahh and smile. For another, it may signify something far less appealing. It may be the day they bury their friend, and so that beauty is tinged with sadness. Not one soul will experience it exactly the way I do. Why? Because each of us clings to our own perception, according to our life experiences, and the vibration within ourselves.

David Eddings, in his fantasy series The Belgariad, writes, "The WORD determines the event. The WORD puts limits on the event and shapes it. Without the WORD, the event is merely a random happening."

Life is like that: it simply is. Our perception applies meaning —both positive and negative—to it, and our perception is our history. Our existence, our history, is defined by our words and emotions, and there is not one person that can make us feel loved, angry, or sad.

We choose it.

Resentment, rage, joy, pleasure—none of these actually exist. No emotions, good or bad, are real; they are just perceptions of an event, and when we allow ourselves the responsibility of our perception, we can go back through our lives and change them. An event that may have once been a challenge, such as burying that friend, can now be perceived differently. We are not changing the event itself, just the perception of the event, thereby changing our emotional reaction.

This is where it becomes oh-so-important: emotions we perceive as negative vibrate at a low frequency, and cause us to feel miserable or sick. But we must remember that no emotion is inherently positive or negative. Like everything else in the universe, it is just a frequency, and we can change our perception of these emotions, thus shifting the frequency.

We were born with everything needed to understand what the universe is saying, and what to do about it. Our perception determines what is stored in our bodies.

~ The Act of Healing

As I travel the world, I encourage people to think for themselves, to let go of what other people think. However, I must say that some in this world are what I would truly categorize as "healers."

I met one while traveling in Brazil. His name is John of God, and he's an incredible man. I watched as he scraped cataracts off a man’s eye with a straight razor. I was amazed when he sliced into a woman who clearly had a cancerous tumor in her breast, and then, with no pain whatsoever to the woman, he slammed hemostats up her nose, twisted them 180 degrees, and yanked out the hemostats, along with the tumor from her breast, in the clamp.

What people forget is that with every gift, there is a curse. For Joao, it was going into convulsions as he would "incorporate"—the Brazilian term for one who joins with a spirit to do healings. Nor does Joao remember, at the end of the day, any of the hundreds of people who stand in line to receive a prescription from him. He has dedicated his life to God and, through the help of the entities (spirits who were once in human form, and are now on an energetic wavelength to assist healers), operated on his self to heal his own stroke. An incredibly courageous man, he has dedicated his life to helping others.

What made Joao real to me were the many people who left Abajianjia without being healed. Just because someone has an astounding gift, doesn’t mean that he can heal everyone. The patient's soul plays a critical role in this.

Healing comes from blending both Western and Eastern principles. We are geometry, which is science and math, and vibration, which is spiritual. We bring both aspects into our lives in order to heal, and our bodies truly need both aspects. Eastern is wonderful for pre-disease, and Western is useful for diagnostics.

You need to remember that your hereditary DNA also plays a role in this simple yet complex design we call a body. For

! 10

example, if you come from a long line of prescription users and meat eaters, your body will respond more to that type of medicine. You may be a vegan, which definitely forces changes in you, but the history of your family genes will remain important.

Your body records every single word and emotion by allowing you a small ache or pain when you first experience a blockage. Have you ever had a heated argument with someone, and when you turned to walk away, felt a pull on your leg, or twinge in your back, or nagging ache somewhere in your body? That's your body letting you know that it has stored an emotional memory.

If we pay attention, and ask our bodies what it needs to tell us, we can clean out the energy blockage so we don't have to deal with it later. What happens more often, after an argument when we're angry or upset, is that we ignore the twinge. Then we often experience pain or disease later, as the body becomes more aggressive in getting our attention, trying to correct the imbalance caused by the blockage.

Our greatest challenge in life is to stay out of judgment with each other and our selves. When we are in a state of judgment, emotions with low vibrations become trapped in our bodies.

I don't believe in absolutes, but have found some generalizations to be true. To define an absolute is to limit, label and judge. When someone comes to me with a particular ailment, I approach it as though I've never seen anything like it.

People manifest blockages and vibrations differently, but there are a few generalities. For example, in treating more than one hundred thousand clients, I've yet to see someone suffering from an autoimmune disease who didn't have a dominant or suppressive parent.

I had a delightful conversation with a woman who came to see me with crippling arthritis. Although only in her early 30s, she acted as though she was in her 90s. She struggled to

! 11

straighten out her fingers, to rotate her wrists, to extend her arms, and even to walk. After speaking to her about her life personally, professionally and physically, it was clear she suffered from an autoimmune deficiency disease. Specifically, her immune system had been suppressed.

It took about a year before this patient was able to accept that her mother’s love had suppressed her growth. How could her mother’s love do such a thing? Her mother never allowed her to do anything by herself. Her mom was so loving that she laid out her daughter's clothes for her every single morning of her school life, from kindergarten until the end of high school. Mom chose what food she should eat, and which hair style she should wear.

This young woman looked at all that her mother did for her as an incredible gesture of love and support. Yet what it really did was take away her ability to choose, to grow, to develop, to express her own thoughts. Yes, her mother truly loved her, to the point of creating a stagnated body which would no longer function without her mother’s guidance. Once she accepted it, and utilized her ColorWorks on a daily basis to remove the feelings of suppression, her symptoms abated and disappeared.

Severe rage and hatred are often stored in the spinal area, making it vulnerable to illness and injury. The spine is the pulse of our bodies. Our skeletal structure is supported by the spine. Our nervous system is encased in it, and our bodies' fluid level requirements are all determined from this area.

Hate and rage are the opposite of Unconditional Love. Those who hate and rage are often the most easygoing people in the world... until they become angry and lose it. They typically lash out for about two minutes, and then, after the tirade passes, they act as if it never happened, or as if they don't remember it. They literally “put it behind them,” and plant the rage in their spines.

Family issues are usually found in the breast, ovaries and uterus for women, and in the prostate and testicles for men. Lower back pain is often caused by a blockage in the kidneys,

! 12

forcing them to shift and put pressure on the lumbar area of the spine. Some areas of our bodies, such as the liver, do not have nerve endings. In order for our bodies to get our attention, that part of the body sends out tendrils to where we do feel it. For example, a person experiencing nasal congestion may have a lower intestine packed with resentment.

One evening in California, after I had just finished speaking at a Unity church, I was talking with my friend Bob, who hosted an alternative talk show, when his son Jason arrived.

Jason, an accountant, lived in his left-brain and was a linear thinker. He had strong disagreements with his father’s beliefs and the content of his show. While he had deep love for his father, Jason thought having a talk show about alternative medicine was a bunch of hogwash.

He had stopped by the church to give his dad a hug, as Jason was scheduled for major surgery in the morning. He had suffered from severe Crohn’s disease, an intestinal disorder that causes bleeding, inflammation, and malabsorbtion of minerals and water from the intestine, and was to have a considerable portion of his intestine removed the next day. He had lost twenty pounds in the past three weeks because of the disease, and was in severe pain.

I handed Jason one of my audio books.

He scoffed and said, “I can’t go there,” and pushed the book back at me, politely and with a smile.

I just smiled back and said, "Who knows, you might decide to listen to it someday."

He chuckled and said, "I doubt it."

“Take it,” I said. “Maybe you’ll find someone you want to give it to.”

He shook his head, laughed and took the book.

The next day, he went in for an MRI before his surgery. His body showed no sign of ever having Crohn’s disease. The surgery was canceled.

! 13

Sixteen months passed before I heard from Jason. He was still astounded, admitted he had waited so long to contact me because he wanted to see if possibly it was psychosomatic. He stated he had taken one Tums tablet during that time period, but conceded that it was an emotional need at the time, and recognized that he was completely healed.

Happily, he has remained healthy. How did it happen? He listened to the book and began thanking his body for good health. Most importantly, Jason began talking to people about things that upset him, instead of holding it inside, squeezing it down into his intestines. That former path had created the energy of Crohn’s inside of his body.

PERELANDRA NATURE RESEARCH CENTER

by Ken Fladie

Perelandra is a nature research center/garden in rural Virginia. Perelandra Nature Center was founded by a woman named, Machaelle Small Wright and a few of her non-physical friends. I was first referred to some of Machaelle’s work in the late 1980’s, when I was the Agricultural Committee chair at Sparrowhawk Village. I studied under her guidance and used her initial Perelandra Garden Workbook.

If you sense this is not regular gardening, then you’re right, and you are really in for a treat, and a bit of a learning curve. Some of the key (if not the key) concepts are that in order to garden you need to work with the devas and nature spirits. By those words you may feel that you’re getting into “woo-woo” or “fuzzy” stuff. Hardly! Machaelle and the beings who work with her are extremely pragmatic. You might say that when you delve into this kind of gardening, you are learning a new science. Working with the nature spirits and devas is comprehensive, to say the least. If you aren’t a b l e t o communicate with these beings or energies, then you must learn to connect with them in an alternative way. A way that is similar to dowsing. I will teach these processes, using the methods explained in these gardening work-books: Machaelle Small Wright “Perelandra GARDEN Workbook” – A Complete Guide to Gardening with Nature Intelligences, (Second Edition, 1993) and “Perelandra GARDEN Workbook II” – Co-Creative Energy Processes for Gardening, Agriculture and Life. The subtitle to each book says it all.

! 15

Along with these processes, flower essences from the Perelandra Nature Center were developed. Nature intelligences/energies told her the specific purpose and use of each flower essence. There are a number. Each is unique. You can find them at www.perelandra-ltd.com.

I have almost all of the flower essences. I’ll take two – each from a different set - as examples. The following is quoted (not my words). The quotes are italicized. I feel that these quotes will give you a feel and more insight.

From the “Garden Essences” – Celery-Restores balance of immune system during times when your immunity is being stressed and during long-term viral or bacterial infection.  From the “Rose Essences” – Peace (a type of rose) – aspect deals with Courage. Do not let its name confuse you, for this essence deals directly with the dynamic of courage, not peace!   Whereas “Gruss an Aachen” (another rose) stabilizes and supports the body/soul unit during change and growth, “Peace” opens to the individual that inner courage which all possess on the highest and clearest of soul levels. This “Peace” description continues, but you get the idea.

I feel honored to have been exposed to and study the work coming from Perelandra. My desire is that you, too, will value the abundant insight and help provided by this center. This information is relevant to the understanding of my upcoming discussion about “Medical Assistance Program” (MAP).

Ken will be a teacher at the ORI Power of Thought School, September 12-15, 2014.

LEARNING, LAUGHTER, HEALING AND EMPOWERMENT

I CAN’T FEEL MY FEET

by Jeanne Gehringer

My friend Jane is vivacious and enthusiastic, but is a bit of a klutz with jerky mannerisms and easily fragmented attention. Within this

normal, she hit an all-time low in a two month period, falling several times, breaking her big toe, another bone on the other leg, and an arm twice (in a vain attempt to gain a soft landing.)

Our little group of artist friends was in a studio working together on art projects. Everyone was chiding Jane telling her to just slow down and watch where she was going. She kept repeating “I can’t feel my feet!” Doctor visits had found nothing to account for this spate of accidents. That day she was particularly spasmodic, stumbling over nothing and speaking in a high pitched voice. She kept repeating that she couldn’t feel her feet. I quietly did some pendulum dowsing and got nowhere on questions of neuropathy and the like. I left the group to get some paper in the store room, and while there a clear voice in my head said, “fix her aura”.

Jane knows little of what I do, but she is open to it. I explained to her about her aura and got permission to tune in and see what was amiss. It turned out another friend present, Sherry, could see auras. So we placed Jane standing up by a wall in just the right degree of shade. I asked Sherry not to divulge what she was seeing until I dowsed it. I found a negative 9 (on a 10 point scale) fault in her aura. It cut her body in half from under one arm diagonally to the other hip. She was almost totally disconnected. Sherry confirmed visually what I was getting with dowsing. There was almost a total void between the top and bottom of Jane’s aura. No wonder JANE COULDN’T FEEL HER FEET.

Jane doesn’t believe in spirit guides, or angels; but she is very

! 18

connected to her Jewish faith. So I called in Abraham as a healing presence. I used dowsing to communicate through Abraham to repair the fault in her aura, at a rate and manner in her best interest; but to do enough immediately to stop her from falling. Sherry could see that the fault was starting to mend. I dowsed that it would take 3 months for her aura to heal completely. I have found that most people need gradual healing as their present condition has become their normal and they need time to adjust. I dowsed that this fault had been forming for about 50 years; that it started small and progressed over time. Intuition kicked in. I asked her who had been cutting her apart with words f o r a l m o s t 5 0 y e a r s . Definitely her husband, she replied. He had been berating her and taking his life’s frustrations out on her their entire marriage. Words DO hurt. Words ARE energy. Energy IS power. I told her she had 4 choices (1) to leave his presence; (2) to get h im to change h is behavior; (3) to change her reaction to his words, or 4) to do nothing and continue to break bones, or her neck someday.

When Jane walked away from the wall, her walk was normal, and her movements calm. Her voice had gone down several octaves to a calm centered tone-except when she yelled, “I CAN FEEL MY FEET!”. She was amazed in the change in herself. This was two years ago. Jane chose choice #3. Through counseling she learned how to change her reactions to her husband’s barrages. I also gave her helpful hints on dealing

! 19

with negative energy. She has not fallen since then nor broken any bones. She has not come close to the fragmented spastic version of herself I knew then. She doesn’t know exactly what I did through dowsing, but I instructed her that she can always call in Abraham and ask for the same healing anytime she needs it. Her husband’s barrages have gone down considerably. It’s amazing what happens when the reaction someone wants doesn’t happen.

I learned a lot from this. Listen literally to what the client is telling you. The clue to solving the problem is in those words. Absolutely honor your own intuitive voice. Invoke a healing presence that the client identifies with, which makes them part of the healing. Above all, never underestimate what you can effect when tuned into Source.

Jeanne will be a teacher at the ORI Power of Thought School, September 12-15, 2014. She will offer Private Intuitive Spiritual Dowsing sessions during the school.

Jeanne Gehringer lives in New Mexico. She applies dowsing to health, psychological and spiritual well-being. As a dowser for 30 years, she has been fortunate to learn from dowsing mentors and is also blessed with her own healing intuition. Jeanne is a frequent presenter at Dowsing Conferences, and is  also the Southwest Regional Vice President of ASD.

TIPS FROM A HAPPY DOWSER

by Bo Hanson

I've helped others heal themselves since 1994. This also includes myself. In 1984, my thyroid was surgically removed. I was told I had to take this little pink pill every day for the

rest of my life or I would die. I learned from Hanna Kroeger how to help other's heal, and learned to heal myself. I have not taken that little pill since 1995 (almost 20 years!) and I've experienced pretty good health since then.

Using what I've learned from Hanna, Raymon Grace, Walt Woods, and other mentors, I've assisted clients in healing herpes, Lyme's disease, Epstein Barr, cancers, heart problems, and more. I am most proud of what I call the "miracle babies". I've assisted women, who had been told they couldn't have children. By healing their body, they were able to give birth to precious souls.

I couldn't have accomplished any of this without DOWSING!

The following are tips I've learned along the way in helping others to heal themselves. No one can do it for them, we can only assist!

DON'T GIVE ADVICE UNLESS IT'S REQUESTED!

Using dowsing, check their energy field first. If there are non-beneficial energies present, you may not get an accurate health reading. Non-beneficial energies interfere with the person's health. You may ask permission (CAN I? MAY I? SHOULD I?) to clear or do whatever you are guided to do.

Using Walt Woods's -10 to +10 Scale, dowse their overall DESIRE TO HEAL. I've found that no matter what some people are saying, it is not what their soul was intended at the time. If the result is not on the plus side, then usually nothing is going to work. A tip-off is, they argue about whatever you are suggesting, saying why they can't do it. A second tip-off is they continue to complain about the same thing. Ask them if they've done everything you suggested before. Usually, they

! 21

haven't and have excuses why not. At this point, I dowse to see if any flower essences would be beneficial. Flower essences work excellently to heal non-beneficial emotions. Healing the non-beneficial emotions sometimes shift the DESIRE TO HEAL to a plus result. Then you can proceed with the healing remedies and/or modalities.

Check their home and/or workplace for adverse energies, noxious energies, and non-beneficial emotions. Again, using the -10 to +10 Scale as Raymon Grace teaches, dowse the overall energy level of the home and/or workplace. If the result is not on the plus side, their environment is not supporting their health and, therefore, can be exacerbating it. Ask if you have permission (CAN, I? MAY I? SHOULD I?) to clear or do whatever you're guided to do.

As a dowser, you can only provide the information you receive. Then you must let it go without attachment, letting the person do with it however they choose. I tell people who ask me to dowse about something to be prepared if they are afraid of a possible answer or not ask me to dowse. My deal with Spirit is to give the information I receive. Sometimes I even dowse for permission to ask the question if it is sensitive in nature or concerns someone other than the client.

To me dowsing is MY way of life and it is very fulfilling and rewarding. HAPPY DOWSING!

EEG RECORD OF A REMOTE HEALING SESSION

by Jack Kayser

An electroencephalograph [EEG] recording was made of a remote healing session that I did on July 9, 2014. The session was to help a young boy who was having trouble breathing. A plot of the session delta and theta brainwave intensity is shown in Figure 1. This article discusses the session along with the idea of using an EEG to help monitor and understand what is happening inside of us when we practice remote healing.

Figure 1. Plot of Delta and Theta Brainwave Response During Remote Healing

ORI recently was given a MindWave EEG headset [Thank you Elizabeth!]. I was interested in learning about EEG technology and borrowed it, then purchased one for myself. The MindWave sits on the head and monitors the slight voltage generated on the left forehead by the frontal lobes of the brain, which are associated with thinking and emotions. The headset transmits this data to a computer via a wireless connection. The device comes with software to view the data, but I wrote my own software so I could store the information in a spreadsheet file for later review.

! 23

I have been recording EEG signals for several weeks now during my meditation and have noticed a pattern regarding my meditative state and the occurrence of delta brainwaves [0.5 to 4 cycles per second (cps)]. There appears to be an overwhelming predominance of delta waves during intention driven meditation, such as remote healing or interactive attention. During very deep meditation, when no active thinking takes place, the delta wave activity does not occur. I have asked other ORI members to perform the same experiment while meditating and they show similar results.

The opportunity arose to carry out a remote healing session at home on my own. I sometimes take a request home from ORI to help when I can and get more practice. This time I included the use of the EEG to record my brainwaves. The results in Figure 1 show the same delta wave patterns that have occurred in meditation recordings. Let me explain.

During the first minute of my session A, I was using a pranayama breathing technique to relax and reach a meditative state [minutes are denoted by chime marks in the plot]. My mind was interactively focused on my body and the movement of breath and chi. My second minute B, was devoted to climbing down into a subterranean space [the software emits a quiet chime to give me an audio queue of time]. The experience of descending into the earth is associated with self hypnotism and the shift of my awareness to a subconsciousness level. My third minute C, involved floating in a void of nothing. I use the void as a place to launch my awareness, in the case of remote healing I set my intention to be with the person I seek to help. My intentional actions during minutes A and B are associated with delta activity. During minute C, my mind was reaching a still point, which is reflected in the lower amount of delta waves.

During the minutes denoted as segment D, my awareness was connected with that of the boy. I did not interact with him, but passively absorbed his feeling and observed his memories. My delta activity was nil during this period. I believe this phase of remote healing is synonymous with remote viewing.

! 24

After absorbing his emotions, pain and memories I began to interact with the boy, which occurred in segment E, where there was plenty of delta activity and also a spike in theta waves [4 to 8 cps]. For me the interaction I have with someone at this level involves a heart to heart talk about the issues affecting their illness as well as marshaling and applying chi energy to their physical and energy body, and psyche. I always try to teach them whatever techniques I have used, so they can continue to heal themselves once I am gone.

If I were looking at remote healing from a skeptical perspective, I would say that what was just described is merely wishful thinking, a fantasy played out in the imagination. My response to such criticism would be that I agree that the experience I had in my consciousness arose from my imagination, but I would add that it occurred spontaneously and without contrivance. For me the hallmark of a genuine spiritual or psychic experience is the spontaneity and noninterference on the part of the ego.

Now that we have the opportunity to observe brain waves during meditation, remote healing or while mentally projecting, we can ask many questions. Delta and theta waves are known to be associated with mystical experiences. The record of our brainwaves gives us an objective verification that something did happen. The record also helps us associate particular meditative techniques with the neurological response that they create, like a mental bio-feedback report. We can use this report to adjust or correct our technique, or give us confidence that what we experienced in our imagination really happened.

I have not received any feedback from the boy or his parents regarding his condition. This feedback would be very useful in helping me adjust my approach to remote healing. ORI sometimes receives information from those who have asked for help, and for this we are grateful. In light of not getting feedback, the best that we can do is to let our feelings and intuition guide us in our healing practice.

THE MAGICAL MOUNTAIN

by Lori D Homstad, B.S. C.M.T.

On Tuesday nights, at O.R.I., twenty to thirty members gather for a healing circle. Before we begin our visualization meditations, Gladys shares with us the letters she receives each week from those that have sent in a healing request. There are notes of gratitude and stories of the miracles happening in the lives of those who give us a request. One of our dear wonderfully vocal members, in her southern drawl always reminds us, “You best be careful of what you pray for, as you just might get it”. So this is my story of praying for something very unusual, I wanted to meet an E.T.

It was a balmy, rainy day in the middle of May, in Springdale, Arkansas and I was walking through the parking lot at my office and my cell phone rang and it was my best friend from San Diego, who never called me. It had been six years since I had moved from Southern California. Valle hardly ever used the phone. We usually communicate via Facebook or email, so my mood instantly elevated when I heard her voice. I imagined seeing her in person and getting a warm embrace. She was calling to invite me to her 50th Birthday Party in July. There was a catch, she wanted to hold her party somewhere other than conveniently located San Diego. She had to tell me the name of the small town in Northern California three times.

Normally, I am hesitant to commit to anything without first doing some research. But I had a feeling and I surprised myself by saying, “Absolutely, I will be there-girlfriend, I wouldn’t miss it for the world!”, and realized I had never been so sure about something so logistically complicated.

! 26

When my planning began, I was intrigued to find superstitious stories about the history of Mt. Shasta. Valle had said it was a special, meaningful place. We’d share a house with ten others to keep the cost low and she could pick me up from the airport so I wouldn’t have to rent a car. I was so giddy, acting like a little girl with a new toy, until we figured out it would take three plane rides, over ten hours, and almost $900 to get there. Mind you, I also have a family and a business to run.

As fate would have it, I immediately found an alternate job at which I would earn the exact amount needed for the trip. The Census was needing workers and I felt it my obligation as a citizen to help, and so, I believed, this trip was meant to be.

As the date approached, I read about Lemurians that once lived in the area of Mt. Shasta and for some reason, all I could think about was meeting an extra terrestrial, while I was there. I could not get it out of my head. Now I am not a UFO fan. So, I prayed to the Lord, the Giver of Life of the Holy Spirit to watch over me and protect me on this journey and guide me to be protected and I knew the power of intention and secretly had a focused intention of all things, to meet an E.T.

Upon arrival, our first stop that evening, was the local watering hole. Now this is not what you are thinking. It was a true water source for the locals from the headwaters of Mt.Shasta. This was fresh, pure clean glacier water from the majestic glacier. At this beautiful city park was a line of people gathering with the largest jugs they could carry. I immediately wanted to cool off and take a drink and I saw that my friend had found a beautiful big dog to pet and was talking to its owner by the restrooms and that is when the magic happened.

I felt something push me or pull me, I’m not sure, but somehow I ended up sitting right next to a small odd looking man on a park bench very near the stream. Now there was

! 27

another bench across from him and plenty of room on his bench, but for some reason I sat right next to him and what I am about to say, I swear it sounds really far out, and no we did not partake in anything to make it far out. I actually said out loud to this man, “Please tell me what it is that I am to Know”. And thinking how bizarre that may have sounded, he began to tell me a story without stopping for pause.

It seemed that time stood still and nobody came near us. This odd man proceeded to tell me something very difficult to comprehend, that he was as old as creation itself, before Jesus and his brothers and sisters, which were many. He talked about his many life times, history, himself, different languages he spoke, miracles and all about the area. He talked about the sacredness of the waters. He said the pure water here from the glacier was special because there was an extra Ion in its structure. Later at the Farmer’s Market we were astonished at the size and quality of the vegetables, flowers and fruits. He said the water where I was near, was similar. (I had not told him where I was from and was not wearing a Razorback t-shirt!) He said to pay attention and that I would be given a special blessing. He had lived many many lifetimes and that man needs to be reminded of the power of unconditional love. With the intention of unconditional love, he said, healing and cleansing is possible with the simple gesture of one hand over the heart and one hand on that to be healed. He made it all sound so believable! I was thinking that if he had a microphone and theatre, people would pay big money to hear him talk and be in his presence. He said so much and yet I was only there a few minutes. He mentioned that time was endless and man would see the miracles when the water source would shoot up taller than the trees.

Valle found me and encouraged us to go, thinking he had lost his mind. Perhaps. Perhaps not. But I was entirely convinced that God lead me to that bench and answered my simple prayer, to meet an E.T. Since that was my main request…

! 28

expectation or desire, the rest of the week turned out to be very serendipitous, as I simply surrendered to being guided to my next adventure without any plan or expectation. Several other miracle type divine events occurred, that week. One event, was I found out my nephew was hiking Mt.Shasta with a group of Christian hikers. They just happened to be having breakfast in the downtown, near our place. I had to find a ride, and convince my driver, I was quite OK to be dropped off and that Spirit would take care of me! My driver reminded me I wasn’t in Arkansas anymore. But I just had tremendous trust and knew I would walk to where my nephew was and see him. It was so cool. I found my nephew within a few minutes, just in time to pay for his meal and render him some advice of traveling a little lighter. I have no idea why I would know to give such advice, as I have no experience with backpacking. Sure enough, my nephew reported back to me after his return, that had he listened to me and lightened his load, he would not have had such a horrible difficult hike. He ended up leaving ten pounds of personal items somewhere on the mountain!

Once I returned home, I attended an event on 11-11-11, where quite unexpectedly a psychic - Rhonda Manning, told me she was instructed to give me an Apache Indian Blessing. It was a song for the healing of the rivers. My wonderful visitation with an E.T. was affirmed. Normally, I am unable to remember the words to lyrics, but this song, only meant for my ears, was sacred. I memorized it immediately and use it, every time I venture out in my pink kayak. If you see me floating off to be by myself and chanting a pretty song in private, you’ll know why.

INNER PEACE

by Rev. Gabrielle Orr

"Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without."

-Buddha

Somewhere between the love in your heart and thoughts in your mind is a happy, peaceful place. Here are a few tips on how to connect to that peace and stay there.

1. Accept what is

In your mind, heart and spirit make peace with what is. You are losing a lot of your energy when you struggle and fight against what is.

2. Focus on the good things in your life

Focus on things in your life that feel right at the moment and express GRATITUDE for them.

Sometimes it can be as simple as saying thank you for the beautiful sunset you are watching.

3. Forgiveness

It's hard to be peaceful if you are holding resentment in your heart. Remember that we are all on our journey trying to find love and happiness and that everybody has hurt someone on their path through life including you. Forgiveness is a service you do to yourself not to the other person.

4. Stay connected to your Inner Space

It's hard to be at peace in your external life if you are not at peace within yourself. Find that place within you that remembers who you truly are.

!! 30

5. Follow your Passion

Everyone has passion inside which is the sole source of your greatest achievements and finest moments. Your passion defines the clarity of your purpose. Your passion allows you to be one with the moment. Your passion is your unique way to make this world a better place to be in. When you allow yourself to express your own passion you allow yourself to live in peace and harmony with your inner being.

6. Stretch beyond your Comfort Zone

Go beyond the usual comfort zone you have established in your life. This area of comfort has the drawback of keeping you stuck in what you know rather than encouraging you to stretch your wings and teach you how to fly. Believe me, you are far grander than you think you are. Start creating a bigger and grander story of yourself and start living your dream.

7. Most of all

Enjoy your Journey!

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

by Melinda Iverson Inn

“Think of your fellow man, lend him a helping hand, put a little love in your heart, and the world will be a better place; for you, and me, you just wait and see…”

— Jackie DeShannon

Sure go ahead and sing the song. It’s a great song.

When we, as compassionate people, see others suffering, we naturally want to find out what the sufferer might be feeling and how we can help and be of assistance to them.

When we feel overwhelmed with our own feelings of despair and doubt, our primary mission is to find out what we can do to help ourselves.

The answer to both situations is the same: kindness.

Acts of kindness can help you get up in the morning and get through your day. Sending someone a note of gratitude or just checking in with them can make all the difference in the life of one who feels a bit left out or marginalized. Giving and/or receiving a smile, allowing someone with fewer groceries to cut in line ahead of you, allowing your thoughts to drift to those who are struggling and sending them a little bit of love through the energetic airwaves—all of these random acts of kindness feed your own heart and soul, not because they make you feel “virtuous,” but because they are acts of loving connection.

In order to make that connection, however, we have to have enough “juice” to reach out to others. Sometimes helping ourselves first, although it sounds selfish and may be the opposite what we were taught as children, can be the best way of getting the energy to help others. In a well-worn example, when you ride in a plane, you’re instructed, if the cabin

! 32

pressure changes and the oxygen mask drops down, to put your mask on first, so that you’ll be able to help those around you

We all need a bit of a lift every now and again. If you are in your own low-pressure zone, and feeling sad or ill, it’s so much more difficult to reach out to others. You may find yourself feeling sorry for yourself and wishing someone would reach out to you.

If you’re lucky enough to have someone to sympathize with and tend you, allow your heart to open in gratitude. If not, you can call on that same spirit with which you help others to help lift you out of your illness or depression, nourish your spirit and replenish your “kindness bank” so that it can spill over and help others care for, love, and appreciate themselves.

Do you have the ability to be kind to yourself? Can you allow yourself the rest you need? Can you give yourself permission to replenish yourself with a good book, a bowl of soup, or even just a nap? There are many small gifts of kindness that you can give to yourself so that you can give of yourself to others.

Thank you for your many acts of random kindness.

Many Blessings ~Melinda

!!Dear Gladys, I left a message but I just wanted to write and thank you. Last time I called for your prayer circle to pray for me I was trying to find a new place to live. I had been on the waiting list for this place since 2005. I had called them 2 weeks before and they said they had no openings. That Tuesday when I called, I asked your group to pray for me to get a place with my cat. The very next day on Wednesday they called and said they had a place and would take me. Whenever your group prays for me I have a miracle happen! Every time!!! I know I tease and say it’s your Ozarkian Voodoo but it always works for me. Thank God, positive angels in the universe, you, your prayer group, and ORI. Wow. Thanks for always coming through for me. Love, S.G.

!Dear Gladys, Joyce and everybody in ORI! I want to thank all of you for prayers, love, and all you did for me and my family. About a month ago we had requested for D.’s new job and I have the privilege to tell you he got the new job. It is not just a promotion, but they pay him 3x more than he is making now! We are so grateful for all of you, for my ORI family. We are moving to North Carolina in two weeks. One more thing: Huge, huge thank you to all for teaching me how to be open to become a better person and listen to my intuition. Thank you Gladys for dowsing classes, healing, etc. I couldn’t do this without you all. You are my family and I love you and miss you! Love & Light, D.T.

Letters❧❦

Hi Joyce, I wanted to share this update with you and your healing circle. As you recall, baby F. was born premature at 1lb 7oz. He spent his first 5 months at a Sacramento Hospital. He underwent multiple surgeries on his intestines, a shunt was put into his brain, and the doctors repaired a hole in his heart. A week ago his grandma excitedly told me he got to go home! Baby F. now weighs 6lbs+ and is getting stronger every day. All his systems, even his eyes, appear to be “Good to Go!” His grandma expressed her deep gratitude to the Ozark Research Institute Healing Circle for facilitating this miracle! Thanks from me too! Best regards, M.

! I look forward to getting the journals. They are filled with such wonderful articles. I read them over and over and share them with many of my friends. Thanks for all the work it takes by everyone to put them together. A grateful member, E.D.

Dear Joyce & Gladys, This week I have been so busy and wondered if I really had the time to make it to the Tuesday Night Healing Circle. I have been working on an article about Harold that just wasn't coming together for me and lo and behold I had a ha ha moment that made my trip and time of attending the group all worthwhile!!  One of the members was emotionally talking about how she was told that she alone could not create the healing she was seeking for her Mother in law and she refused to believe that was true. With tears and much emotion she visualized the healing her Mother in law needed, with the help of Harold's tools and energy, she remembered he used to always tell her, "It's all about your Passion", "Having Passion in your request and your intentions makes a difference!"  This is what I was wanting to portray in my story. Instead I thought I would just simply share with you how uplifting the Tuesday Night is for me, even though I think I am there to help others with their healing. I am learning to be more passionate too. If you want to listen to Harold, he is featured on a Youtube video and he talks about this. View it yourself and you will be inspired. Lori
