Press Release DPS BALCO HOLDS AN ENTHRALLING INVESTITURE CEREMONY DPS Balco envisions the students to come ahead and communicate ideas and thoughts which plays significant role in functioning of the school system. The school fosters leadership and co-ordination skills in portraying the child, not only as a student but also as a partner and contributes towards the growth of the school. The new academic session 2015-16 ushered the formation of a new Council Body with a promising bunch of students with immense potential and outstanding leadership qualities imbued in them. DPS Balco on the occasion of Investiture Ceremony showcased a whole gamut of colourful programme and drew the attention of the knowledgeable audience. The distinguished guests Mr. Ramesh Nair, CEO & WTD, BALCO & Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS, Balco, Mr. B.K. Sriwastwa, AVP (Community Relations), Balco & Member, SMC, DPS Balco, Col. D.S. Bhati, GM (Admn.), BALCO, Mr. Sunil Kumar Dixit, AGM (Comm.) P-1 & Member, Vedanta Kalyan, Samiti, BALCO, Mrs. Meena Mantri, President, Balco Mahila Mandal, Balco and parents encouraged the children with their cordial presence. The honourable Chief Guest Shri Ramesh Nair, a young and dynamic leader who spearheads Balco scaling higher and higher, in his inspiring speech advised children to become good human beings imbibing with high moral values and positive attitude in their life and to focus on their mission which can only be attained with clear vision. Council Body selection or election is the part of education that enhances the leadership qualities and imparts managerial skills in the children which has become a necessity in modern journey of success quoth he. The Principal of the school Kailash Pawar, listed his expectations from the new Council Body. Apart from nurturing leadership skills, he also emphasized on the values that one must inculcate. Honesty, determination, discipline, wisdom, humility and aspirations are the words they need to pay heed to. The programme of the two hours voyage commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the learned guests followed by a melodious chanting dedicated to the Goddess Saraswati. That was wonderfully presented by school choir headed by Poonam Trivedi, Pallavi, Priyanshi, Prakriti, Subhashish, Monika, Sneha and others. The welcome song was the next sung zealously by Poonam, Priyanshi, Sneha and their friends greatly impressed the conversant crowd. However, the colourful bonanza attained its height when the new Council Body members in their graceful uniform were sworn in by Mr. Kailash Pawar, the Principal of the school. Chandan Shrivas - Head Boy, Garima Tiwari - Head Girl, Ayush Yadav - Vice Head Boy, Sapna Yadav - Vice Head Girl, Aditya Mishra - Sports Captain, Sumedha Bhattacharya - Cultural Secretary and Deepali Biswal & Tanya Kanchan Soni - Student Editors were amongst those gifted young pupils who took oath on the momentous occasion. This, however, was followed by another oath taking ceremony for the various prestigious posts for the four Houses viz. Chenab, Ganga, Ravi & Sutlej. Gaurav Baghel, Aashi Yadav, Mitali Agrawal & Nandini Choubey were sworn in as House Captains for the four houses respectively. All the Council Body members & House Captains headed by Chandan & Garima promised to disburse their duties and responsibilities in the most upbeat and assiduous manner. Just after the splendid ceremony the toppers of the school in Board Examinations 2014-15 and the esteemed Science Olympiad winners were bestowed with certificates and prizes. Besides, the teachers who teach board classes and lay the foundation of the best results of the students were also felicitated in a grand way. The two hours vibrant show was marvelously blended with cultural events which include group songs and group dance. The exuberant girls and boys in dazzling attires showcased their dancing & singing skills in group dances – ‘School ke din’ and ‘Yaaron Ji Bhar Ke Le’. The phenomenal performances hummed around the sizzling, scintillating and soothing monsoon. The young and energetic students Pranjal Tripathi, Nitya Vishwakarma, Pallavi Bansuri and Aayush Puraina did the job of announcement and compering remarkably. Sumedha Bhattacharya the new Cultural Secretary of the school, on behalf of the DPS family extended gratitude and thanks to the distinguished guests, who gave their precious time on this solemn occasion. The prestigious Investiture Ceremony was concluded with the National Anthem. *****
