REMINDER: Groundbreaking Ceremony
for Route 3 Widening Project Tomorrow
(March 21, 2018 - Tamuning) The Department of Public Works will host the groundbreaking
ceremony for the Route 3 Widening project on Thursday, March 22 at 11:00a.m. at Route 3 in Dededo.

The project consists of widening the existing two-lane roadway to a four lane divided roadway from approximately 600 feet south of Route 28 to Chalan Kareta. The roadway will include a two-way left turn lane throughout except at signalized intersections. The project also includes
three (3) signalized intersections at Route 28, Artero Drive, and Chalan Kareta. The Chalan Kareta intersection will also include a new main gate entrance to the future Navy Finegayan Cantonment Area.
The $44,283,313 project was awarded to Black Construction Corporation and is funded by the
Department of Defense and transferred through the Federal Highway Administration to the
Guam Department of Public Works, Highway Division. It is estimated to be completed by January 2020.

SPECIAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane
Closure at Route 1/3 Intersection
Route 1/3 Intersection Improvements (Dededo) The Route 1 southbound left lane will be closed to through traffic from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. today, March 29, 2018. The area affected will be from the Route 1 and 3 intersection to the
traffic light entering the Micronesia Mall parking lot. Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through all construction zones, observe all posted speed limit and construction signs, and carefully heed to flaggers. Alternative routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.
