Not too different from OWSD- except banking on expertise of this region:

• Our strengths:• National Chapter formed with the objectives to work towards

the betterment of girl students, working women, employment of

women in various fields of Science and Technology, • To translate high-end sciences like biotechnology, information

technology, Bioinformatics, human genome project, and allied sciences

for the public, through platforms like this seminar or workshops.

• To bring about grass-root level changes in lives of common person, to

develop and strengthen human relationships through education and by creating awareness.

Inter-state meet within a country is as difficult as Inter-country meet

Reason being – finances One thought occurs to me:

We never get what we wantWe never want what we get We never have what we like We never like what we haveAnd still we live and love. That's life..

A community based initiative supported and promoted by communities to address local needs.

Need for action by the local communities, to enhance safety and create space for women to share their concern.

Why we need ? As we are witness to too many incidences of untimely deaths and suffering happening around us.

We talk about freedom and if we need to understand it well then we need to reflect

“for ONCE” together on what is happening against Women. If we need to really want to build an equitable society and a society where

people live with their head held high with pride that they belong to a country that respects women.

The 11th five year plan recognizes gender as a cross cutting theme and also recognizes women’s initiatives and that they are not a homogenous category.

Women with various talents may be categorized differently.

The general categories of testing can be distinguished as follows:

Cytogenetic analysis using Karyotyping methods- for Chromosomal analysis, and aberration detections.

Mutation detection in identified genes (or diseased genes) to detect the SNPs or a predefined number of sequence changes, using PCR based methods

Genotypying :to identify genotypes and phenotypes, and to understand the type of mutations such as homogenous , heterogenous, or mixed types.

Sequence analysis which may be located within a single gene or across multiple genes. Depending on the testing method used, the number of included sequence changes can range from a single mutation to thousands of mutations.

Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP detection)

Infections caused by Toxoplasma gondi, Rubella virus, Cytomegalovirus, Herpes simplex virus (TORCH) complex are common causes of bad obstetric history (BOH).

TORCH infections are generally mild in the mother, but can prove disasterous to the fetus.

The degree of severity depends on the gestational age of the fetus, when infected, and the virulence of the organisms that damage the placenta and increase the severity of maternal disease.

Therefore this study evaluated the incidence of TORCH infections in pregnancy wastage in women with bad obstetric history.

Dr Vijay Khader former Dean, of Agricultural University was a participant at the Farmers meet and biodiversity program. Further she reported the that it had been decided to emulate the example of millet cultivation with organic forming across the district.

The farmers from other areas would be called and shown how to cultivate millet even in adverse weather conditions. If not, the women farmers from this area would be taken to other parts of the district to explain them on how to do it.

The responsibility has been entrusted to Joint Collector A. Sharath. It was also decided to present ‘J. Eswaribai Memorial Award' to the women working in the DDS for sustaining the traditional crops, protecting the soil health and people's health by supplying nutritious organic food and standing as an example to the farming community across the nation

Choosing science, marriage and continuing with science-a Hard decision

Enhance use of a combination of martial arts (many studies have championed the cognitive and behavioural benefits of martial arts) and creative arts (which are fun and beneficial in helping with brain stimulation) as vehicles to promote both the physical and mental well-being.

Alternate education system- teaching them –introduce new practocal lessons, encouraging the child to be independent, in a well ordered environment, respect for nature, grace and courtesy. –Non-competitive, non-threatening,

Discussions between scientists and non-scientists are even more difficult than conversations within science.  After attending interdisciplinary seminars where disciplines were quite diverse, I interviewed a sample of the faculty in attendance and concluded that cross-disciplinary conversations are particularly challenging for academics.

The different disciplinary habits of mind cultivated over years of training and practice, and the disparate disciplinary languages and cultures adopted make communication between these scholars as difficult as that of diplomats from dissimilar nation-states.

Participants from both the sciences and the non-sciences told me they had learned a great deal.   A biochemist said the seminar was a key factor in his decision to move away from highly theoretical research that had not “the slightest practical significance whatsoever” to research on neurodegenerative diseases.

An NGO in Hyderabad runs a house where food is available to all who come in.

I believe that for one to lead a healthy and happy life, there has to be good relationship with the family, and good food to eat,” begins Dr Surya Prakash, who started an NGO called Life-Health Reinforcement Group (Life-HRG) in Hyderabad in 1999, with the motto: ‘protect life and promote health’.

His idea was to strengthen human relationships, make sure people don’t go hungry to bed and make sure

women get an equal place in society. To address issues of hunger, communications and women problems,

Prakash, along with his wife Dr. Kameshwari has been conducting various initiatives and programmes across the city of Hyderabad. “We take up one issue every year and work towards it whole-heartedly,” says Prakash, who has given up his profession to become a full-time social worker, adding, “This year the issue we have taken up is the problems women face.”

Women’s issues After taking up the issue of communications and reading, this this year Life-HRG will focus on

five major problems that women face today — female foeticide, early marriage, no education, abuse and hysterectomy (uterus removal). To address the problems, Life-HRG is conducting a number of programmes, meetings and initiatives throughout the city this year.
