Part of his Ph.D studies was carried out in the Department of Chemistry, in Cambridge University, on the framework of Greek-British Joint Research and Technology Programme. Then he served his military service in the Hellenic Air Force Academy for one and a half year as a chemist responsible for the analysis of aircraft fuels and lubricants. After that he worked for two years as a product manager in an industrial gases company. In 2004, he joined the Department of Sciences of the Technical University of Crete as a Lecturer in the field “Surface Analysis & Catalysis”. From February 2010 to June 2013 he served as Assistant Professor in the same department. In June 2013 he moved to the School of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete. His research activities lie mainly in the areas of heterogeneous catalysis and surface science with particular emphasis on structure-activity relationship. His published work includes more than 115 papers in international journals (50) and conference proceedings (65) as well as 1 book in the area of applied chemistry. His published work has been cited more than 600 times in the scientific literature (h-index=13). He is a member of the Editorial Board of seven international journals. He also serves as a regular reviewer in more than 30 scientific journals and research funding agencies, while he is/was a member in the organizing and scientific committees of international and national conferences. He is/was the main researcher and/or coordinator in 11 research programs financially supported by GSRT and EU. Recently, he was selected as a management committee substitute member of the COST European Programme, in an action related to surface science and materials.

SUMMURY

Βorn in 1974, Dr. Konsolakis graduated the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras, Patra, Greece, in 1997 and obtained his Ph.D. in 2001 from the same Department. Part of his Ph.D studies was carried out in the Department of Chemistry, in Cambridge University, on the framework of Greek-British Joint Research and Technology Programme. Then he served his military service in the Hellenic Air Force Academy for one and a half year as a chemist responsible for the analysis of aircraft fuels and lubricants. After that he worked for two years as a product manager in an industrial gases company. In 2004, he joined the Department of Sciences of the Technical University of Crete as a Lecturer in the field “Surface Analysis & Catalysis”. From February 2010 to June 2013 he served as Assistant Professor in the same department. In June 2013 he moved to the School of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete.
