* Carol The First Noel The first Noel the angel did say was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;In fields where they lay keeping their sheep,on a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, born is the King of Israel.

They looked up and saw a starshining in the east, beyond them far;and to the earth it gave great light,and so it continued both day and night.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, born is the King of Israel.

Time for Reflection Dr. Mike Marshall

Invitation and Preparation for Communion Dr. Tim Bruster The Lord’s Prayer (in unison)Our Father, who art in heaven,hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come,thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Receiving Communion Communion will be served to you in the pews. Ushers will bring a tray with wafers and individual cups for you to take and pass along in your row. Since the trays are large, we encourage parents to hold them and carefully assist your children in receiving Communion. Cups may be placed in the holders on the back of the pews in front of you.

The Bible Story - based on Luke 2:1-20 and Matthew 2:1-11 The Birth of Jesus

During the Bible Story, which will be read during Communion, there is an opportunity for the congregation to hum along to many cherished carols.

Here are the carols in order:

Prayer after Receiving (in unison) Dr. Mike MarshallGracious God, your Son gave us a special meal as a way to remember your love for us. On a night like tonight, how could we possibly forget your love? Help us keep Christmas in our hearts tonight, tomorrow, and always, that others may see your love in us — a love that is unforgettable. Amen.

Lighting of the Candles (please remain seated) Dr. Tim BrusterTo light your candle, hold your unlit candle horizontally so that a lit candle, held vertically, can light yours. Lit candles should always be help upright.

* Closing Carol Silent NightSilent night, holy night, all is calm, all is brightRound yon virgin mother and child.Holy infant, so tender and mild,Sleep in heavenly peace. Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night, shepherds quake at the sight;Glories stream from heaven afar.Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!Christ the Savior is born! Christ the Savior is born!

Silent night, holy night, Son of God, love’s pure light;Radiant beams from thy holy face With the dawn of redeeming grace,Jesus, Lord, at thy birth. Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.

Silent night, holy night, wondrous star, lend thy light;With the angels let us singAlleluia to our King;Christ the Savior is born! Christ the Savior is born!

* Benediction Mister Mark
