ear Dragon:
I really enjoyed The Marvel-Phile section in
RAGON Magazine. It helps make the MARVEL
UPER HEROES game more entertaining. I
ve been disappointed at not seeing more
arvel characters put into this section.Craig Moore
Claymont DE
Jeff Grubb, who wrote most of the install-ents for that column, has moved on to otherojects at TSR. However, we are picking up
her material on the MARVEL SUPER HEROESame for use in the magazine. Because so rnanyeroes and villains are scheduled for theamers Handbook of the Marvel Universe
ries, we will probably focus more on cam-
aign information and suggested rules for theame than on character statistics. Still, we mayave some surprises in store.
ear Dragon:
In reading David E. Cates article on drakes in
sue #146 [Dragons Are Wizards Bestriends], I noticed that it says there are five
pes of drakes to be described; the article
escribes only four. Also, there is a table labeled
Faerie Dragons Ages and Spells, and a refer-
nce to the color of a faerie dragons wing
arkings. I assume that these references
hould actually refer to faerie drakes.
Sean D. Reddy
Phoenix AZ
That should have been four instead of fiverakes in that first paragraph. And yes, that
hould be faerie drake instead of faerie
ragon.
ear Dragon:
Im pretty sure that I found an error in issue
146. On page 26, in the statistics for the rain-
ow dragon, it says that 11-12 HD dragon
ould be worth 8,050 xp per hit poin t.
Now, if a 12-HD rainbow dragon with 96 hp
maximum) came along and it was slain, it would
e worth 772,800 xp! Youd have to kill Asmo-
eus 11 times before you could match that!Geoff Manaugh
Blue Bell PA
The experience-point value for the 11-12 HDainbow dragon should have read 8,050 + 16
er hit point. Sorry!
Dear Dragon:
#146. The cobra dragons venom reduces a
characters strength by half. Would that include
magical strength, such as from a girdle of giant
strength or strength spell?Eric Moon
Fairport NY
Cobra dragon venom would not affect magicalstrength gained from a potion or girdle, thoughif the character using such strength-boosterslost the effects of the potion or took off thegirdle, his normal strength score would bereduced by half. If the character was under the
effects of a strength spell when he was bitten, reduce his normal strength score by half, then
add the amount of strength he gained from thespell to get his new strength score.
Dear Dragon:
Recently I got issue #144 and almost immedi-
ately found a big mistake. In the review of Ral
Parthas Regimental Command Lance [Through
the Looking Glass], you stated that the recon
Mech was an Ostscout. It isnt. Its a 60-ton
Ostsol. So offense.
Ben Zed Gillian
Garland TX
Here we go: When the review column arrived,we checked it against a copy of FASAs BATTLE-TECH Technical Readout 3025. We did not have
the Regimental Command Lance figure set, however. The smallest Mech in the figure set
was identified as an Oscout, but there is noOscout in the Technical Readout 3025. There
is, however, an Ostscout. We thought the re-viewer had made an error and so corrected it.
As fate would have it, the boxed set does
indeed identify its smallest Mech as an Oscout, but the Ostscout in the book does not look verymuch like the figure in the boxed set. As welater learned, the Technical Readout 3025 wasitself in error; as it had reversed its pictures ofthe Ostscout and the Ostsol. (Note that theOstsol is said to be capable of punching otherMechs but the picture of that Mech on page79 of that book has no hands; also compare the
Weapons and Ammo descriptions with thepictures on pages 29 and 79.) Thus, the smallest
miniature in the Regimental Command Lance isreally, an Ostscout after all we think.

Thishumorous booklet gets players and DMsinto the right mood for engaging in hu-manoid role-playing.
The Dungeon Masters Booklet continueswith the same overall flavor as the PlayersGuide. Here, the DM gets the real historyof the humanoids and the details on the
major NPCs active in the Broken Lands. Italso includes new rules for playing sha-mans and wiccas. These nonhuman spell-casters were first described in the D&DMaster Set; they are the clerics and magic-users of the humanoid races. By dedicat-ing themselves to one of the humanoid
