Word Building
Preparation: Gather pictures or cut pictures from workbook with short vowel sounds, spelled with 3 letters. Mount the pictures for each vowel on a different color paper. Make sound boxes on the same color paper.
I have included copies. List on the back the letters needed to build all of the words for that vowel sound. Place pictures and sound box card for each vowel in different ziplock bags, along with the magnetic letters needed.
Students take a bag, choose a picture, draw the picture, build the word, and write the word nextto the picture.
