Dr.G.V.S Rao, Chairman, Dr.Rao's ENT super speciality International group of hospitals, Hyderabad, Telangana & director, Hyderabad ENT research foundation was born on 9th August 1960. He completed his MBBS and M.S ENT from Guntur medical college, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. He has an experience of 32 years in the field of otorhinolaryngology. he is the author of very well-known "Guidelines for temporal bone dissection" with over 10,000 copies distributed worldwide. He was awarded "Limca book of records 2010" for being the first ENT surgeon to have performed 20 micro-ear surgeries in less than 12 hours. He is a pioneer for having started the first private temporal bone laboratory at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and he was a spearhead in starting similar laboratories and workshops for the first time in Nepal and Bangladesh. With great interest in teaching and mentoring young ENT postgraduates and older colleagues, he started conducting hands-on cadaver temporal bone dissection and hands-on cadaver FESS workshops under the auspices of Hyderabad ENT Research Foundation since 1999 and has successfully conducted 105 hands-on workshops till date. These workshops are internationally renowned with delegates flying from Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Singapore, Syria, Iraq, UK, Australia to attend these workshops especially. His enthusiasm for teaching the ENT surgeons made him establish a YouTube channel on his name which has more a lakh of visitors with whom he actively interacts. He was recently awarded "Best doctor award" for the year of 2016 on the occasion of Ugadi by the state government.
