We are not a fast food, pack it high, get it out in record time establish-ment so if that’s what one requires there’s a great drive through at PL9 7BH.

We also love music but not too loud, so please no requests to turn it up, we don’t do live mic nights, band nights, stag or hen parties, gee we’re a Marvin Gaye, Reggae, Summer grooves type of place; laidback and happy to smile. However, we do like jazz.

(P15) MAS PUECH PICPOUL DE PINET COTEAUX DU FRANCEOne of the oldest Languedoc grapes, the Picpoul, is zesty, lemony not only great with seafood, shellfish by its balances but goes well with Mediterranean dishes, this classic is truly a great wine on its own crisp and very easy drinking.

This is a complex rosé, wild strawberry, citrus, white flowers and a hint of lychee. Mirabeau Pure has a great lingering, beautiful finish, the perfect bottle for any occasion that calls for something a little special or as a gastronomic partner to good food.

(P21) SOME YOUNG PUNKS NAKED ON ROLLER SKATES, SHIRAZ MATARO AUSTRALIA (V)We love this wine and it’s been popular from our wine library section, full bodied, with cassis, liquorice on the palate, followed by a little bit of spicy chocolate, rich but smooth enough on its own. A real Ozzy producer that produces great wines, we love it, and hope you do too.


(P22) PETIIT CABERNET SAUVIGNON KEN FORRESTER SOUTH AFRICA A youthful Cabernet Sauvignon showing fresh ripe mulberries and plums with a spicy undertone. I so love this wine, soft tannings great on its own or with blue creamed cheese. A great partner to one of our meat boards also fab, by the glass.


(P23) FINCA FLICHMAN MISTERIO, MENDOZA MALBEC ARGENTINA Finca Flichman a name that means underlining quality 100% Malbec, deep ruby red in colour, with soft tannins that lead to a finish that is fresh, however, still quite fruit driven fruit with dry finish.


(P24) IRONSTONE OLD VINE ZINFANDEL CALIFORNIAZinfandel wine has amazing versatility which makes it a wonderful wine pairing for variety of dishes. Any type of meat - whether its pork, beef or game - is ideal with strong, aged cheeses the stronger the better.

(P26) VALPOLICELLA RIPASSO, TERRAPIENO, VENETO, ITALY (V)One of Italy’s finniest, we first tasted this at 2018 London wine fair, made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, this wine has a dark ruby colour and a bouquet that opens on vegetal notes and those of aromatic herbs and juicy fruits, cherry and raspberry. This is a super wine for those who love a medium body wines, with firm tannings & structure, another super little find.

RUMSRum as we know has come a long, long way and was one of the products manufactured on the plantations of the West Indies by slave labour. It has a long-standing reputation as a bartering tool in exchange for newly trafficked slaves from Africa or supplied by traders in the ports of the Caribbean. Most of the produce of rum was shipped to England for consumption with extremely high profits for both the aristocracy and plantation owners.

Rum has had an amazing association with the British Navy and was said they ran on rum as each sailor had a generous allowance. I for one as a child and coming from a West Indian family was brought up in family desended from rum slavery to rum making. So, here’s my first stab at creating a small introduction into what I believe an amazing spirit category, “over ice all the way for me”

(R8) PLANTATION XO 20TH ANNIVERSARYYes, I know what you’re going to say how much? However, I say with a sense of admiration for this rum. A combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months ageing in small French oak casks. There is truly something special about this rum, its just one of them rums you’re a little reluctant to share.

These Liqueurs are grappa base as the main spirit base and infused with real fruits, chocolate making these the perfect after dinner drink or a fabulous gift.

(BL1) NERORich Cocoa is the basis of Nero, this great union of cocoa with alcohol, this smooth creamy without the use of milk, but still soft and rich. (15%)

(BL2) PEACH LIQUEURA very pleasant freshness, with an intense lovely sweet aroma, the base of this is natural juice extracts from fresh peaches picked at their peak ripeness that gives this its unique taste. (25%)

(BL3) GIANDUIA CHOCOLATE CREAMI make no apologies for listing this, as you’re not going to share this with anyone. Soft and velvety on the palate Gianduia was created in Piedmont in 1806. An intense aroma of cocoa and nuts you’re really going to love this absolute fab, over ice cream or in your winter warming hot chocolate. (17%)

(BL4) APPLE LIQUEURApple’s, apples and more apples all-natural ripped bittersweet apples, on its own or in a cocktail, sour notes tangy but refreshingly pleasant. (28%)

(BL5) CARAMEL CREAMThis is really an unusual liqueur as it started its life in South-America Argentina in the 19th century, a mistake by a cook leaving the pan of milk with sugar on the stove. Intense aroma of cooked milk and toffee, soft and sweet for me think murray mints without out the mints hope that makes senses. A good alternative to Bailey’s (17%)

(BL6) BLUEBERRY LIQUEURSorry I’m writing this “Fitz” yak I don’t like Blueberries Zoe loves them, for me naar … this really does taste like a mouth full of Blueberries so if it’s your bag go for it. Sweet, with a fresh fragrance all natural and leads itself for those on a healthy lifestyle. (28%)

(BL7) RASPBERRY CREAMThe first thing I noticed about this, it’s not as thick as you would think however, once you open the bottle boom sweet aroma of raspberries. From nose to palate everything matches and evokes a taste sensation. (15%)

(BL8) LIMONCINOThere is no doubt the king of Italian Liqueurs produced in two areas Veneto and Sicily, the variety of lemons for this liqueur is called “Femminello” these are picked at their peak ripeness, the lemon peel is infused in alcohol for around 30 days before blending, for me one of the best lemon liqueurs on todays market. (30%)

ESTRELLA GALICIA SPAIN (4.7%) SERVED VIA ½ PINTS ONLYAn exceptional lager with a distinctive flavour, craft using traditional methods, made using the perfect combination of smooth Galician water, aromatic and bitter hops from Germany, and pilsner malts. This refreshing beer has a clear pale golden colour, a light body and well- balanced sweetness with bitter finish. A robust strong cheddar or pecorino, garlic salami would be a great combination.

BOTTLED BEERS / LARGER

MENABREA BLONDE 330ml (V, VG)Menabrea 1846 is a premium strength lager beer at 4.8% ABV. Additive free, it is the only Italian lager still brewed using a completely natural ‘slow fermentation’ process, that makes use of spring water from the Alps and ingredients from the Czech Republic, Germany and France. Unlike mass produced beer, no water is later added to standardise the alcohol content.

ALHAMBRA RESERVA 1925 LAGER 330ml (6.4%) SPAINUltra-Premium pilsner; dark golden amber colour, powerful nose with engaging flavours and well-rounded from its 35 days of brewing. It is full bodied with lightly toasted aromas, rounded flavours and a perfect bitter-sweet balance ranging from citrusy orange to light caramel malt.


IPACURIOUS IPA 330ml (4.4%) ENGLAND ASHFORD, KENTA triple-hopped Session IPA of curiously crafted balance, finesse and distinctive drinkability. This refreshing and zesty Session IPA has three complementary hops - English Golding, Chinook and Cascade.

BREWDOG PUNK IPA 330ml (V)This 5.6% trans-Atlantic fusion IPA is light golden in colour with tropical fruits and light caramel on the nose, the finish is aggressive and dry with the hops emerging over the warming alcohol. Great with a charcuterie plate.

FLYING DOG DOGGIE STYLE 335ml (5.5%) USA MARYLANDIt is the beer that the New York Times ranked as #1 in the USA. The classic Pale Ale is a brilliant-amber in colour and dry-hopped with buckets full of Cascade for an unrivalled hop flavour and aroma. Grassy, citrus, and slight perfume hop aromas with a subtle sweet malt body.


FRUIT LAGER

DAMM LEMON 330ml (3.2%) SPAIN BARCELONA Damm Lemon is the colour of pale gold with shades of yellow. The head is white. The aroma is of soft bread, of citrus, of herbaceous freshness. Full and clean on the nose. Fruit is the leading flavour, with body and freshness from ripe lemons and zingy limes. A bitter finish, typical of beer.

FOWEY VALEY MEDIUM CIDER SPARKLING VINTAGE 750ml (7.5%) Fowey Valley Cider is made in the Champagne method or ‘methode traditionelle’, three years in the making, an exquisite fine Cider.
