Driver ExamsSouth Dakota drivers licenses expire on their expiration date.
Licenses can be renewed up to 180 days before the expiration date.South Dakota exam stations are slowly going “back to normal.” Ten stations – including Elk Point, North Sioux City, Sioux Falls and Yankton – opened May 18 and are allowing people in through scheduled appointments.
To schedule an appointment, applicants need to call 605-773-6883 or email [email protected]. Staff will prioritize appoint-ments according to need. Anyone who is ill or experiencing COVID-19-related symptoms will be asked to stay home until they are well.
