DSHI, a green technologies company focusing on renewable energy
innovations for micro-grid and remote power applications, announced
today that they were presenting the EnerDynamic technology to the
selection committee and board of the Office of Low Emission
Vehicles (OLEV) who are administering a Plugged-In Places programme
(PIP) in the United Kingdom.
PIP is an electric vehicle recharging commitment by the
Government to provide infrastructure for mainstream electric
vehicles as they come to the UK. The Government is supporting three
existing Plugged-In Places in London, Milton Keynes and the North
East which are already installing recharging points in their
areas.
The EnerDynamic technology is unique because it does not require
the huge upfront cost for installation of dedicated charging
bollards, and the system is adaptable to any type of RFID or swipe
card payment system the committee chooses to endorse.
By utilizing the power in existing lamp posts, we can reduce the
initial cost, eliminate much of the congestion and traffic jams
caused by closing roads to run wiring to dedicated charging
bollards, and allow councils to phase in EV charging as demand
