In signal processing,a band stop filter or band rejection filter is a filter that passes

most frequencies unaltered,but attenuates those in a specific range to very low

level.it is the opposite of a band pass filter.A notch filter is a band stop filter with a

narrow stop band (high Q factor).A smooth wave form is generated of low

frequency signal can be achieved through the igital notch filter. !oise can beeasily eliminated from a speech signal by using a notch filter. !arrow notch filters

(optical) are used in raman spectroscopy,live sound reproduction (public address

systems, or "A systems) and in instrument amplifiers (especially amplifiers #r

 preamplifiers for acoustic instruments such as acoustic guitar,mandolin,bass

instrument amplifier etc..,) to reduce or prevent audio feedbac$,while having little

noticeable effect on the rest of the frequency spectrum(electronic or software

filters). #ther names include %band limit filter&,&'notch filter&,&bandelemination

filter& and %bandrejection filter&.In this project , we are going to design the notchfilter using A'*A+. 'he performance and characteristics of the filter has been

shown in the wave form in the conclusion part of the paper.
