PMA is different - its guiding investment principal is the management of risk in its clients’ portfolios.
No one knows the future, and no one can forecast market performance, but nothing produces consistent returns like the rigorous quantitative analysis and thoughtful pragmatism that is at the core of PMA’s investment process.
Founded in 1982 by Marshall E. Blume, Ph.D. of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Edward L. Snitzer, Esq., PMA manages one billion dollars in client assets, including those of high net worth individuals and not-for-profit corporations.

From the gala chairs:
Welcome to Settlement Music School’s 108th Anniversary Gala. For more than a century, Settlement has been educating the Greater Philadelphia com-munity through the arts. With programming for students ages 6 months to 99 years old, the School truly helps build skills for a lifetime. Tonight, we celebrate Settlement’s work in early childhood— specifically its nationally recognized, one-of-a-kind preschool program Kaleidoscope, which features daily instruction in art, music, and dance. You will enjoy a video that demonstrates how this incredible program encourages discovery, nurtures different learning styles, increases school readiness, and changes lives.
We are also proud to honor Delaware Investments this evening and its presi-dent, Shawn Lytle, for the company’s longtime support of Kaleidoscope and commitment to children and the arts across the region.
By joining us at the Gala, you are helping to ensure that Settlement’s pro-grams are accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances. We hope you will participate in tonight’s raffle and special fundraising drive for Kalei-doscope. All Gala proceeds benefit the School’s Financial Aid Program, which provides more than $2 million to students every year.
Thank you so much for supporting this event and for supporting an organiza-tion we know such important and outstanding work. It has been our pleasure to chair the 108th Anniversary Gala and to work with our fellow committee members.
Cheers to a wonderful evening for a great cause!

Founded in 1908, Settlement Music School began as the music program of the College Settlement in Philadelphia’s Southwark section offering services to newly arrived immigrants in the community.
The music program grew rapidly from volunteers offering piano lessons for a nickel to a full program of instruction in all musical instruments taught by professionals, including several members of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
By 1914, Settlement was incorporated as an independent community school of the arts. The current Mary Louise Curtis Branch building was built in 1917.
In the 1940s and ‘50s, Settlement experimented with remote satellite and branch locations, and by 1960 had established Germantown and Northeast (later the Kardon-Northeast) branches.
In the 1970’s, Settlement undertook an ambitious program of education and therapy in music and dance for disabled children and adults, and in the mid-1980’s incorporated the Kardon In-stitute as a separate, allied institution. Kardon later spun off into an independent organization, and upon the Institute’s closing in 2014, Settlement launched its Kardon Center for Arts Therapy.
In the late 1980’s Settlement merged with the Jenkintown Music School to create a fourth branch (which moved to a brand new facility in 2011 to become the Willow Grove Branch) and founded a fifth branch in the Wynnefield neighborhood of West Philadelphia.
In 2002, Settlement extended its services to students in Camden, New Jersey.
