Job Responsibilities
Product and Quality Manager
To be able to foretell when there would be scarcity of which particular products in the fruits and vegetable markets so as to plant on time for the timely harvest and placement in the market of these products in order to take advantage of the favorable prices.
To diversify the market by approaching retailers in the process by-passing the cartels and bottleneck bureaucracy to be found in this organized market centers.
Sizing up competition and what they are offering and how they are offering it, in order to define the farm marketing strategy.

Making sure that fertilizers and pesticides used in the farm are the recommend ones per the Kenyan pest control products board as well as further checks with the European Union regulations on pesticides.

To assist the Quality Manager-in compliance of quality systems e.g. change controls,
deviations, incidences, customer complaints etc.
To assist the Quality Manager- in continuous systems improvement and update. Daily control of incoming goods as well as goods stored within the dining facility
through visual checks and documentation to ensure that, the products are to the accepted standards by the client.
Monitoring and documentation of temperatures of freezers as well as cold rooms, Monitoring of the work process and verification through documentation, Monitoring and verification of cleaning and disinfection after every meal and
documentation, pest monitoring and pest control and its documentation, Internal weekly checks on food alerts (RASFF) and liaison with other Ciano quality
departments with regard to the food alerts, Liaison with the appointed military health officers on kitchen audit as well as food
hygiene checks and solving any arising recommendation from such checks and responding to the recommendation through detailed reports of the measures undertaken
Monthly hygiene audit of the kitchen as well as inventory, Constant training of employees on HACCP
Checking the records for the proper maintenance of environment, safety and health of
the working personnel. Regular spot checks on personal hygiene and food hygiene to see that the HACCP
concept is adhered to.
Making sure that the quality related complaints are investigated and resolved.
Preparing/Reviewing daily, weekly and monthly protocols and reports. Monitoring of the food waste disposal and its documentation. Making sure that EU rules and regulations and the German military rules and
regulations stipulated in ZDv 46/28 concerning Hygiene in a catering facility are strictly adhered to.
