From the pen of the President
We had another great P&C meeting in March and we are looking forward to an exciting 2018. Our school is currently completing an audit of the tablets and computers available for our children to use in the classrooms. With the introduction of On-line testing such as NAPLAN we need to ensure we have enough resources for our children to use. Stay tuned for the “Cookies for Computers” fundraiser next term to help raise funds to increase our technology resources. Next Thursday 12th April is the first school disco for 2018. The P&C will be hosting a FREE BBQ for all DPS children who attend on the night so don’t forget to grab a sausage sandwich at the end of the Disco for your child. Thank you to Rod who will coordinate this event. If you would like to help cook the BBQ please email [email protected]. Our traditional Mother’s Day stall will be held on Thursday 3rd May (as we have school photos the following week). There will be a selection of traditional Mother’s Day gifts as well as the introduction of the Mother’s Day gift bag (prices are $10 and $20), and each bag will contain a range of gifts for our special mums. Don’t forget we will have a stock a Nanna and Grandma presents too so please remember to send money with your child. If you are available to help on the Mother’s Day stall please email [email protected]. Thank you to Vicki who has co-ordinated this event. Together we can all continue to make Dural Public School the amazing school that it is for our children. Kind Regards Cara Miceli
PRIMARY SCHOOLS CHESS COMPETITION
We are looking forward to another exciting and challenging series of games in Term 2, and
welcome all capable Chess players to the teams.
The competition involves play after school on Friday afternoons, the number of weeks each
year varying, depending on the number of schools playing in each division.
Play is “at home” [here at Dural Public School], or at one of the other schools involved,
usually on alternate weeks. Selection of the teams is determineded by the experience of the
players and the availability of parents to take the teams to the “away” venues.
Interested students can collect a note from Mrs B. Moore.
