bull General Managers Committee Report on the Financial Proposals submitted by the Consultants
1 Karachi Port Trust has embarked herself to develop new harbor enclave Ie
Pakistan Deep W ater Container Port (PDW CP) east of Kaemari Groyne to meet the
demanding requirements of the rapidly growing Container handling and to accommodate
Super Post Panamax Vessels It is envisaged that at the completion of th is mega project
Karachi Port would be able to handle large mother ships which would pave way towards
greater economic growth of the cou ntry
bull 2 In Phase 1 - the first deep draught four berth container terminal with 1500-meter
long four-berth terminal quay wall designed at 18 meter depth together with the navigable
approach channel navigationa l aids and the protect ion works Moreover the work for the
Dredging and Reclamation shall encompass the 180 meters deep harbour basin and other
allied facilities
3 The works on the port infrastructure modules ie Dredging and Reclamation Marine
Protection and Quay W all Construction are already in progress Concession agreement with
Mis Hutchinson Port Hold ings Hong Kong has also been signed for the development of the
Container Terminal Mi s HPH shall be responsible for bringing in larger ships due to their
connections wilh the international shipping lines and this shall ensure the through usage of
lhe facility

4 The location of the Pakistan Deep Water Container Port Container Terminal is in
close proximity to the existing rail and road networks of the KPT There are many private and
public oil in sta llations to the north of the proposed terminal location which have extensive
infrastructure already bui lt and operative This includes road and rail network The feasibility
study of the PDW CP has studied alternatives for providing the connectivity via road and rail
network to the fdcility
5 In light of the above the Karachi Port Trust invited applications from Local
Consultants of repute specialized in infrast ructure projects for alignment detailed design
and development of roadl rail n(~twork fo r Pakistan Deep W ater Container Port project
6 Going through the requisite tenderin g procedure evaluation of the Consultants was
carried out wherein 2 x Consultants were found responsive to the RFP issued Names of the
Consul tants on with their respective tech nical Score are as under

7 By the permission granted by the Competent Authority a meeting was sumn1Jned on
01 June 20 12 at 1030 hrs to open the Financial Proposa ls of the above mentioned
Consultants The CrYlsultants were also invited to attend the same Representati Ij 0niV
from Mis NESPAIlt aH(nded the meeting Attendance sheet is placed opposite The
Genera l Managers Committee opened the Financial Proposals and the status is as under

1 Karachi Port Trust has embarked herself to develop new harbor enclave Ie
Pakistan Deep W ater Container Port (PDW CP) east of Kaemari Groyne to meet the
demanding requirements of the rapidly growing Container handling and to accommodate
Super Post Panamax Vessels It is envisaged that at the completion of th is mega project
Karachi Port would be able to handle large mother ships which would pave way towards
greater economic growth of the cou ntry
bull 2 In Phase 1 - the first deep draught four berth container terminal with 1500-meter
long four-berth terminal quay wall designed at 18 meter depth together with the navigable
approach channel navigationa l aids and the protect ion works Moreover the work for the
Dredging and Reclamation shall encompass the 180 meters deep harbour basin and other
allied facilities
3 The works on the port infrastructure modules ie Dredging and Reclamation Marine
Protection and Quay W all Construction are already in progress Concession agreement with
Mis Hutchinson Port Hold ings Hong Kong has also been signed for the development of the
Container Terminal Mi s HPH shall be responsible for bringing in larger ships due to their
connections wilh the international shipping lines and this shall ensure the through usage of
lhe facility

close proximity to the existing rail and road networks of the KPT There are many private and
public oil in sta llations to the north of the proposed terminal location which have extensive
infrastructure already bui lt and operative This includes road and rail network The feasibility
study of the PDW CP has studied alternatives for providing the connectivity via road and rail
network to the fdcility
5 In light of the above the Karachi Port Trust invited applications from Local
Consultants of repute specialized in infrast ructure projects for alignment detailed design

bull General Managers Committee Report on the Financial Proposals submitted by the Consultants
1 Karachi Port Trust has embarked herself to develop new harbor enclave Ie
Pakistan Deep W ater Container Port (PDW CP) east of Kaemari Groyne to meet the
demanding requirements of the rapidly growing Container handling and to accommodate
Super Post Panamax Vessels It is envisaged that at the completion of th is mega project
Karachi Port would be able to handle large mother ships which would pave way towards
greater economic growth of the cou ntry
bull 2 In Phase 1 - the first deep draught four berth container terminal with 1500-meter
long four-berth terminal quay wall designed at 18 meter depth together with the navigable
approach channel navigationa l aids and the protect ion works Moreover the work for the
Dredging and Reclamation shall encompass the 180 meters deep harbour basin and other
allied facilities
3 The works on the port infrastructure modules ie Dredging and Reclamation Marine
Protection and Quay W all Construction are already in progress Concession agreement with
Mis Hutchinson Port Hold ings Hong Kong has also been signed for the development of the
Container Terminal Mi s HPH shall be responsible for bringing in larger ships due to their
connections wilh the international shipping lines and this shall ensure the through usage of
lhe facility

4 The location of the Pakistan Deep Water Container Port Container Terminal is in
close proximity to the existing rail and road networks of the KPT There are many private and
public oil in sta llations to the north of the proposed terminal location which have extensive
infrastructure already bui lt and operative This includes road and rail network The feasibility
study of the PDW CP has studied alternatives for providing the connectivity via road and rail
network to the fdcility
5 In light of the above the Karachi Port Trust invited applications from Local
Consultants of repute specialized in infrast ructure projects for alignment detailed design
and development of roadl rail n(~twork fo r Pakistan Deep W ater Container Port project
6 Going through the requisite tenderin g procedure evaluation of the Consultants was
carried out wherein 2 x Consultants were found responsive to the RFP issued Names of the
Consul tants on with their respective tech nical Score are as under
