August 14th will be the last
day for the 2013-2014 4-H
year on 4-H Connect. On
August 15, 2014 ALL (youth
and adults) profiles will
change to an "INACTIVE"
status. This means that you
can then start re-enrolling for
the 2014-2015 4-H year. We
need EVERYONE TO RE-
VIEW THEIR PROFILE infor-
mation.
When you re-enroll in 4-H for
the new year, please check
the name of your school and
make sure that it is complete-
ly SPELLED OUT. Do not
use abbreviations or other
short names.
The school list is used by your
county Extension office for
eligibility purposes and if you
are in the incorrect school, or
don't have the complete name
listed; it could be your fault for
not being declared eligible to
participate in a con-
test. (Example: do not list
your school as "MHS" because
your county may have more
than one!).
The annual participation fee
per youth member will remain
$20 if you enroll from August
15 to October 31st or $25
(after October 31st.
Thanks for all you do and
thanks for MAKING THE
BEST BETTER!!!

NEW THIS YEAR!
Starting this fall, Texas will be implementing a
Statewide Heifer Validation Program. This will effect
any 4-H or FFA member wanting to show a heifer at
a Major Livestock Show! You will have to pay $10
for every heifer validated. This will apply to valida-
tion for the spring 2015 major livestock shows. Here
are a few important points to keep in mind that de-
scribe the purpose of this program:
LivestockNews
Ensures ownership by the exhibitor by the ap-
propriate date with appropriate documentation
Eliminates backdating of junior heifer ownership
Improves the efficiency of check-in process at
major shows
July 1, 2015 – Ownership deadline
If you have any questions regarding this, please
feel free to contact Kristen Greer at the County Ex-
tension office.
