Fujitec's independently developed inverter with state-of-the-art VVVF control ensures improved advanced motor performance with high precision. The newly incorporated Intelligent Power Module (IPM) also contributes to a remarkable downsizing of the motor.
Independently Developed Inverter Unit with Variable Voltage Variable Frequency (VVVF) Control
An elevator operation system with multiple microcomputers makes maximum use of a "Distributed Control System". Hall indicators, car operating boards and control panels incorporate high-performance microcomputers. These independent microcomputers analyze elevator operating conditions utilizing self-diagnostic functions and implement immediate control of elevator operation. Also, data transmission buses between microcomputers increase data processing capability.
Fujitec's exclusively developed Digital Automatic Voltage Regulator (Digital AVR) and Dynamic Torque Vector have been technologically combined. This combination decreases the speed-ripple amplitude by more than 50 % and provides superb riding comfort to passengers even while an elevator operates at low speeds.
In accordance with motor features developed through elevator testing, inverter units automatically adjust and tune themselves by communicating elevator operation signals. This results in high accuracy and performance of elevator speed control.
A 32-bit data bus provides high-speed and high-precision data transmission of input-output command signals between each microprocessor located in control panels, hall-call / car-call buttons, hall indicators and hall lanterns.High-speed data transfer with multiple protocols enables large-scale data processing at ten-times the normal speed. This also improves the ability to monitor elevator running speed, landing precision and operating reliability as well as input-output command signals of car operating fixtures and operation indicators.
The bus system is employed for data transmission between microcomputers located in every hall-call fixture, car operating board and control panel. This bus system has strong protection against signal interference and does system-extending capability.

"FLEX-NX" Advanced Traffic Management SystemFujitec has adopted the "Virtual Passenger Optimization Method" as a new elevator group control system. This system controls elevator group operation by virtually calculating passenger waiting time in advance based on past accumulated data, such as passenger travel patterns and passenger volume at each floor. Also, this method comprehen-sively calculates passenger waiting time based on extrapolated data of probable future passengers; how many passengers will come to a certain floor when a hall call is registered and/or how many passengers will come to a certain floor when no hall call is registered. This comprehensive analysis reflects whole-building traffic conditions for efficient elevator operation control as well as reducing daily passenger waiting time by up to 10%.
Microelectronic components (Surface Mount Device (SMD), Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)) are densely placed on a circuit board. The integration of these electronic components has created a remarkably small circuit board with high-speed data processing.
Multiple protocol data processing increases the efficiency of data transfer with timely and logical response to high volume incoming and outgoing data flow.
High-speed serial buses are layered on a CPU board and a relay-circuit board. Fujitec has independently developed elevator sequence-control software with high-level protocols designed especially for dedicated hardware. This sequence-control software enhances elevator-system safety and reliability which reflects our accumulated program-design experience and state-of-the-art technology.
An ultra-high resolution (10,000-pulse resolution) encoder automatically analyzes the elevator operating speed and calculates its traveling distance. This technology optimizes the elevator operation speed curve in order to ensure a car arrives at its destination floor in the shortest amount of time and to ensure an accurate landing.
While applying braking force, an elevator that is about to land at a floor will directly approach the destination floor without car creeping movement. This direct approach and landing reduces elevator travel time while increasing riding comfort.
The speed control magnetic weight sensor is able to detect the total load of a car and to control starting torque effectively without causing start-up impact.

The GLVF-H series automatically check mechanical brake conditions by moving a car in a hoistway during the night time while not receiving any car and hall calls. This night-time self-checking operation increases passenger safety and contributes to a high after-sales product quality.

Multi-Beam Sensor
Multi-beam Sensor emits multiple infrared beams, creating an invisible curtain covering the entire doorway. Even if only a single beam is interrupted, the closing doors will stop and reopen. This feature of the sensor results in a significantly higher detection rate of a passenger and/or an object between the entrance doorway. The higher detection rate helps decrease the current rate (62 %)* of doorway accidents. * = as of 2009.

Standard Functions
A designated elevator can operate independently for exclusive use. When this mode is turned on via the car operating board cabinet, the elevator will operate independently and respond to exclusive car-call registration (s).
Independent Operation
An elevator attendant's duty is to register car calls based on car passenger requests. After monitoring incoming hall calls, the attendant decides the car travel direction and operates the car doors with service priority on in-car passengers. This operation switch is located in the car operating board cabinet.
Attendant Operation
In the event of a car prematurely stopping between floors, a safety circuit will check and determine the situation; then automatically and slowly take the car to the nearest available floor.
Rescue Operation to the Nearest Floor
In the event of a failure to open the car doors after arriving at the destination floor, the car will move to the next available floor and open its doors.
Door Opening Failure Rescue Operation
In the event that one or more elevators are operating abnormally, the elevator group operation system will separate it/them from the group and operate the remaining elevator(s) normally.
Auto-Separation After Elevator Failure (for group control of two or more cars)
In the event that passengers try to forcibly open the car doors during elevator operation, a warning device will sound an alarm.
Open Door Warning
In the event of a car becoming overloaded, the car doors will not close and an audible alarm will sound.
Overload Warning
In the event that a car does not stop flush with a landing, an auto re-leveling device will move the car up or down in order to align it with the landing by creeping.
Auto Re-Leveling
In the event that the car doors are being held open over a given period of time, a door-nudging function will initiate to slowly close the doors while an audible alarm is sounding.
Door Nudging
In the event a passenger tries to register a car call that is behind the travelling car's current position, the elevator system will regard it as a nuisance call and reject it in order to maintain elevator service efficiency.
Reverse-Direction Car-call Cancellation
In the event that the number of registered car calls exceeds the number of passengers, which is calculated based on the actual passenger weight loading, all of the registered car calls will be automatically cancelled.
Anti-Nuisance Function
When an elevator does not receive any car- or hall- calls for a certain period of time, the "Automatic Return to Main Floor" function makes the elevator go to a predetermined main floor and stands by for a passenger.
Automatic Return to Main Floor (for group control of two or more cars)
An elevator automatically checks mechanical brake conditions by moving a car in a hoistway during the night-time while not receiving any car and hall calls. This night-time self-checking operation increases passenger safety and contributes to a high after-sales product quality.
Night-Time Self-Checking Operation
In case of no interior car lighting, a self-charging battery power source will immediately light up the emergency car lights for passenger safety and relief.
Emergency Car Lighting
An interphone for 5-way communication is installed in a car. It allows 4 remote telephones to provide communication with a car; one on a car top, one in a pit, one in a machine room and one in a building-system control room. This communication system is used in case of emergencies, during elevator maintenance work, etc.
Five-Way Intercom
A multi-beam sensor emits multiple infrared beams, creating an invisible curtain covering the entire doorway. Even if only a single beam is interrupted, the sensor will stop the closing doors and reopen them.
Multi-Beam Door Sensor
In the event that an elevator is unable to complete its door-opening operation at a destination floor within a given period of time, a door inspection device will move the elevator to another destination floor registered by a car- or hall- call. In the event that something obstructs door-closing operation over a given period of time, a respective door-closing operation will start to clear the doorway obstruction.

Based on registered car- and hall- calls, the elevator operating system automatically adjusts the duration (dwell time) for which a car stays and keeps its doors open at every floor.
Auto Adjustment of Door Opening Duration
In case a car doesn't receive any car- and/or hall- calls for a certain amount of time, its ventilation fan and lights will automatically turn off.
Automatic Fan and Light Control
A visual display on a car operating board will provide passengers with timely text messages reflecting current conditions such as "OVERLOAD", "EMER. OPERATION", "PLEASE EXIT FROM THE CAR", etc.

An arrival chime sounds softly when a car has arrived at a destination floor.

In case a passenger has pressed the wrong car call button, two consecutive pushes on it will cancel a mistakenly registered car call.

When the emergency button is pressed, a buzzer mounted on the car top will sound an alarm.

Power Receptacle in a Car A power receptacle can be installed in a car. (Maximum allowable wattage: 1000 W)
Automatic Run / Stop Operation (by a timer)
Daily elevator operation time is automatically controlled by a timer mounted on a computer board in a machine-room control board.
Timer-Controlled Parking OperationWhen elevator operation has been shifted to Parking Operation mode, the affected elevator(s) will move to the preassigned floor and stop with its/their doors closed and car lights and fan turned off.
Automatic Return to Main Floor (for one-car control)The preassigned main floor, where an elevator will return to, can be designated by the client. When an elevator does not receive any car- or hall- calls for a certain period of time, the "Automatic Return to Main Floor" function makes it go to the designated main floor and makes it stand by for a passenger.
Load By-Pass IndicatorWhen a travelling car, which is loaded up to its rated load capacity, skips other floors, an indicator will show a "Load By-pass" text message to waiting passengers on by-passed floors.

If a travelling car is loaded up to its rated load capacity, it will bypass floors where hall calls have been registered. Those registered hall calls will be assigned to another available car.
WAVIC: Earthquake Rescue Operation
When a seismic sensor detects a seismic wave (secondary wave), it will shift elevator operation from normal to emergency mode. A car in emergency mode will automatically move to the nearest available floor for passenger evacuation.
Multi-Beam Door Sensor with Mechanical Safety EdgeMultiple-beam sensor can be incorporated into mechanical safety edges of car doors.
Fireman's Operation mode will allow firefighters to use an elevator in order to rescue persons trapped in a building. For a quick rescue operation, the elevator will only respond to car calls registered by firefighters.

Fire Alarm OperationIn the event of a fire, the fire operation mode will automatically take a car directly, non-stop, to an evacuation floor and immobilize it there.
GSO (Group Supervisory Controll)The "FLEX-NX" group control system is available for three (3) or more elevators in a group. Installed in various types of buildings, a human brain-like control system analyzes changing traffic demands and applies its result to the multi-elevator operating system.
Through a purpose-built interface, a building management system can receive up-to-date elevator operation data.
