PART1–INTRODUCTORY1. Introductory1.1. Part (A)3 provides that a horse trained in the Channel Islands is not
qualifiedtobeenteredfororstartinanyraceundertheseRulesunless1.1.1. thenameof thehorse isenteredontheregisterofhorsenames
maintainedbytheAuthority,and1.1.2. the name of the owner is entered in the register of owners
maintainedbytheAuthority.1.2. InthisManual
1.2.1. Part2providesfortheregistrationofhorsenamesandimposesspecificrequirementsapplyingtoanyhorsetrainedintheChannelIslands,and
1.2.2. Part3providesfortheregistrationofthenamesoftheownerofanyhorsetrainedintheChannelIslands,registrationofanowner'sracingcoloursandcertainotherrequirementsapplyingtoowners.
1.3. APersonisliabletoDisciplinaryActionif
1.3.1. hecontravenesarequirementimposedonhimbyorundertheseRules,
1.3.2. any provision of these Rules states that he is taken to havecontravenedanysuchrequirement,or
1.3.3. anyprovisionoftheseRulesstatesthatheisliabletoDisciplinaryAction.
1.4. Disciplinary action may also be taken against a Person in any of the
circumstancesspecifiedinRules(A)56to(A)62.

PART2–HORSESChapter1–Interpretation2. Scheme2.1. InPart2,unlessthecontextotherwiserequires
Export Certificate, in relation to a horse foaled outside Great Britain,IrelandortheChannelIslands,meansacertificateofpedigreeforthehorsewhich
2.1.1. states the name, pedigree, age, sex, colour andmarkings of the
horse,and2.1.2. isissuedandendorsedbyaRecognisedStudBookAuthorityor,in
theabsenceofsuchanAuthority,theRecognisedRacingAuthorityofthecountryinwhichthehorsewasfoaled,and
2.1.3. isendorsedbytheStudBookAuthorityorRacingAuthorityofanyothercountrywhichthehorsehasvisitedbeforeimportationintoGreatBritain;
Horseincludesmare,gelding,colt,andfillyandforthepurposesofRule17includesapony,mule,assorhinny;MicrochipmeansamicrochipapprovedbytheStudBookAuthorityoftheChannelIslandsorofGreatBritainandIreland;Non-ThoroughbredRegistermeanstheworkauthorisedtobepublishedunderthatnamebytheAuthority;Racecourse Managing Executive means the person who holds aracecourselicencegrantedbytheAuthorityunderPart(F)2;RacecoursePropertymeansanypropertyowned,usedorcontrolledbytheRacecourseManagingExecutive;StudBookmeanstheregisterofthebreedingofthoroughbredhorsesintheircountryoforigin;VeterinaryOfficermeansaregisteredveterinarysurgeonengagedbytheAuthority;Veterinary Surgeon means any qualified veterinary practitionerappropriatelyregisteredtopractice.
Chapter2–RegistrationofnamesofhorsesintrainingintheChannelIslands
3. TheregisterofnamesofhorsestrainedintheChannelIslands
3.1. WheretheAuthorityreceivesanapplicationinrespectofahorsetrained
intheChannelIslandswhichismadeinaccordancewithRules4to7,theAuthoritymayapprovetheapplicationandenterthenameofthehorseintheregisterofhorsenames.
3.2. Anamewhichisregisteredinrespectofahorseshallbethehorse'snameforthepurposesoftheseRules.

3.3. Each application to register a name must be accompanied by theappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1.
4. Makinganapplicationtoregisterahorsename4.1. An application to register the name of a horsemust bemade using the
Prescribedform.
4.2. Theapplicationmust
4.2.1. containsuchinformationastheformmayrequire,4.2.2. be accompanied by the appropriate supporting documents in
accordancewithRule5or6,and4.2.3. besignedbyoronbehalfoftheOwnerorTrainer.
4.3. Indeterminingwhethertoapproveanapplication,theAuthoritymayhave
regardtosuchmattersasitmayconsiderappropriate.5. Supporting documents: horse foaled in Great Britain, Ireland or
ChannelIslands5.1. ThisRuleappliestoanapplicationtoregisterthenameofahorseinany
casewherethehorsewasfoaledinGreatBritain,IrelandortheChannelIslands.
5.2. Theapplicationtoregisterthehorse'snamemustbeaccompaniedby
5.2.1. itspassport(exceptwherethehorsehappenstobeoutsideGreatBritain,IrelandortheChannelIslandsatthetimetheapplicationismade),and
5.2.2. suchotherdocumentsasmayberequiredunderParagraph5.3or5.4.
5.3. Inanycasewherethehorse'spassportdoesnotalreadycontainevidence
from a Veterinary Surgeon that a Microchip has been implanted, theapplicationmustalsobeaccompaniedbyastatement fromaVeterinarySurgeonthatthehorsehasbeenimplantedwithanidentifyingMicrochip.
5.4. InanycasewherethePersonwhosignstheapplicationisunabletoconfirmthemarkingsofthehorseshowninthepassport,theapplicationmustalsobeaccompaniedbyanageandmarkingscertificatethatcomplieswithRule7.1.
5.5. In this Rule references to a horse's passport are to the approveddiagrammaticdocumentofidentityforthehorsewhichisissued
5.5.1. by the Stud Book Authority of Great Britain and Ireland in
accordancewithsuchdirectionsasmaybegivenbytheAuthority,or

5.5.2. insuchothermannerastheAuthoritymayspecify.6. Supportingdocuments:horsefoaledelsewhere6.1. ThisRuleappliestoanapplicationtoregisterthenameofahorseinany
casewhere the horsewas foaled in a country other than Great Britain,IrelandortheChannelIslands.
6.2. Theapplicationmustbeaccompaniedby
6.2.1. thepassport(ifany)issuedforthathorse,and6.2.2. anageandmarkingscertificatethatcomplieswithRule7.1.
6.3. The application must also be accompanied by a statement from a
VeterinarySurgeonthatthehorsehasbeenimplantedwithanidentifyingMicrochipinanycasewherethehorseistrainedintheChannelIslandsand
6.3.1. the horse's passport does not already contain evidence from a
VeterinarySurgeonthatsuchaMicrochiphasbeenimplanted,or6.3.2. thehorsehasnopassport.
6.4. In this Rule references to a horse's passport are to the approved
diagrammaticdocumentofidentityforthehorsewhichwasissuedontheauthorityofaRecognisedRacingAuthority.
7. Ageandmarkingscertificates7.1. Anageandmarkingscertificateinrespectofahorseisacertificatesigned
byaVeterinarySurgeonwhich
7.1.1. specifiesthemarkingsofthehorse,and7.1.2. statestheageofthehorse.
7.2. TheVeterinarySurgeonmustsatisfythefollowingconditions:
7.2.1. TheVeterinarySurgeonmustnotbe7.2.1.1. theOwnerofthehorseoranypersonrelatedtothe
Ownerofthehorse;7.2.1.2. theTrainerofthehorseoranypersonrelatedtothe
Trainerofthehorse;or7.2.1.3. aPersonemployedbytheTrainer.
7.3. TheVeterinarySurgeonmustbeindependentoftheOwnerandTrainerof
thehorse.
7.4. Where the Authority is not satisfied that the Veterinary Surgeon isindependentoftheOwnerandtheTrainerofthehorse,itmayrejectanyageandmarkingscertificate.ThisParagraphapplieswhetherornot the

Authority subsequently commences an enquiry to consider possibleDisciplinaryAction.
7.5. Where an age and markings certificate is required in support of anapplicationtoregisterthenameofahorse,theAuthoritymustcomparethecertificatewith
7.5.1. if the horsewas foaled in Great Britain, Ireland or the Channel
Islands,themarkingsfirstrecordedforthehorseintheStudBookmaintained by the Stud Book Authority of Great Britain andIreland;
7.5.2. if thehorsewas foaledelsewhere, themarkingscontained in itsExportCertificate.
7.6. TheAuthoritymustnotapprovetheapplicationif
7.6.1. it considers that there is a discrepancy between the age andmarkingscertificateandthedocumentspecifiedinParagraph7.5or7.6.2,and
7.6.2. thehorse'sidentitycannotbeverifiedbyabloodoraDNAtest.
7.7. IfthedeliveryoftheExportCertificateforahorsehasbeendelayed,theAuthoritymayprovisionallyapproveanapplicationsubjecttosubsequentverificationofthehorse'sidentity.
7.8. TheappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1ispayablebyanapplicantforthecarryingoutof
7.8.1. acomparisonrequiredbyParagraph7.5,or7.8.2. atestforthepurposesofParagraph7.6.2,
whetherornottheidentityofthehorseisverifiedasaresult.
8. Requirementsforanapplicationtobeapproved8.1. UnlesstheAuthoritydirectotherwiseanapplicationforregistrationwill
onlybeacceptedif8.1.1. ithasreceivedallthedocumentsrequiredbyRules4to7,and8.1.2. itissatisfiedthateachofthefollowingconditionsismetinrespect
oftheapplication.
8.2. Thefirstconditionisthat
8.2.1. thehorse'sidentityhasbeenproperlyverified,and8.2.2. thehorsehasbeenimplantedwithanidentifyingMicrochip.
8.3. Thesecondconditionisthatthehorsehasbeenacceptedforinclusionin
8
8.3.1. the Stud Bookmaintained by the Stud Book Authority of GreatBritainandIreland,
8.3.2. aStudBookapprovedbytheInternationalStudBookCommittee(seeParagraph8.6),
8.3.3. theNon-ThoroughbredRegister,or8.3.4. theAutreQuePurSang(AQPSRegister).
8.4. Thethirdconditionisthatthenameofthehorse
8.4.1. hasbeendeterminedinaccordancewithSchedule1,and8.4.2. hasnotbeenreservedunderRule11.
8.5. Thefourthconditionisthatthehorse,anditssireanddam,areeachthe
produceofanaturalserviceorcoveringandthat,inthecourseofbreedingthehorse
8.5.1. anaturalgestationtookplaceinthebodyofthemareinwhichthe
foalwasconceived,and8.5.2. thefoalwasdeliveredfromthemare'sbody.
8.6. Schedule2 lists thecountries in respectofwhichStudBookshavebeen
approvedbytheInternationalStudBookCommittee.
8.7. In Paragraph 8.5, Natural Service or Covering means the physicalmountingofamarebyastallionandwhichcanincludetheimmediatere-inforcementofthestallion'sserviceorcoverbyaportionoftheejaculateproducedbythatstallionduringthatserviceorcoverofthatsamemare.
9. Registrationofthename9.1. WheretheAuthorityapprovesanapplicationitshallregisterthenameof
thehorse.
9.2. InrespectofahorsewhichwasfoaledoutsideGreatBritainortheChannelIslands9.2.1. alettercodeshallbeaddedtotheregistertodenotethecountryof
foaling,and9.2.2. thisshallformpartoftheregisteredname.
9.3. Theregistrationofanameisvoidif
9.3.1. after registration, it appears to the Authority that any of theconditions specified in Rule 8 were not satisfied at the time ofregistration,and
9.3.2. theAuthoritydirectsthattheregistrationshallbevoid.9.4. Theregistrationofanameissuspendedif
9
9.4.1. afterregistration,itisfoundthatthatthehorse'sbreedermadeaninaccurate, misleading or fraudulent declaration at the time ofregistration with the Stud Book of Great Britain and NorthernIreland,and
9.4.2. theAuthoritydirectsthattheregistrationshallbesuspended.10. Changinganame
10.1. A name that is registered for a horse may be changed but only in the
followingcircumstances10.1.1. theAuthoritydecidestocorrectanincorrectnamewhichhasbeen
publishedinerror,or10.1.2. anapplicationtoregisteranewnameismadeto,andapprovedby,
theAuthorityunderthisRule.10.2. TheAuthoritymayapproveanapplicationtoregisteranewnameforthe
horseiftheAuthorityhasreceivedallthedocumentsrequiredbyRules4to7andissatisfiedthat10.2.1. eachoftheconditionsforapprovalspecifiedinRule8aremetin
respectoftheapplication,and10.2.2. Paragraph10.3doesnotpreventitfromgivingitsapproval.
10.3. Noapprovalmaybegivenif
10.3.1. the horse has run under these Rules, the rules of a Recognised
RacingAuthorityorinaPointtoPointSteepleChaseruninGreatBritainorIreland,or
10.3.2. thenameof thehorse isalsoregisteredbyaRecognisedRacingAuthorityandthatRacingAuthorityhasnotgivenitspermissiontothenamechange,or
10.3.3. thehorsehasbeenregisteredeitherasabroodmareorasastallionin
10.3.3.1. theStudBookmaintainedbytheStudBookAuthority
ofGreatBritainandIreland,10.3.3.2. theNon-ThoroughbredRegister,or10.3.3.3. any other Stud Book or non-thoroughbred register
whichisauthorisedtobepublishedbyaRecognisedRacingAuthority.
11. FeesforanapplicationunderRule1011.1. AnapplicationunderRule10mustbeaccompaniedbytheappropriatefee
specifiedinSchedule(A)1.Chapter3–Identityandvaccinationofhorses

12. Requirement for a horse trained in the Channel Islands to have a
passport12.1. EachhorsetrainedintheChannelIslandsmusthaveapassportissuedby
aStudBookAuthority.
12.2. Thepurposeofthatpassportistoensurethatthehorsecanbeidentifiedat all times and, accordingly, the passport must always accompany thehorseandbeavailableforinspection.
12.3. IntheeventoffailuretocomplywithParagraph12.2inrespectofahorsewhichisonRacecourseProperty,theTrainerortheOwnerofthehorseareliabletoDisciplinaryAction.
12.4. Any passport is returnable on demand and is issued subject to thecondition that all the requirements of these Rules relating to passportsmustbecompliedwith.
13. Issueandreplacementofapassport13.1. WheretheAuthorityregistersthenameofahorseunderthisPart,theStud
BookAuthorityshallreviseandre-issueanypassportforthehorsethatitreceivedunderRule5or6.
13.2. TheStudBookAuthoritymay issueapassport forahorse insuchothercircumstancesasitmayconsiderappropriate.
13.3. Apassportisinvalidatediftheseal(spine)isdamagedorbroken.
13.4. TheappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1ispayablefor
13.4.1. theinitialissueofapassportunderthisRule,13.4.2. itsrevisionorreissue,or13.4.3. thereplacementofalostpassport.
14. IdentitychecksforhorsestrainedintheChannelIslands14.1. Anidentitycheckmustbecarriedoutonanyhorsewhichistrainedinthe
ChannelIslandsinanycasewherethehorsehasbeendeclaredtoruninaraceunderRule(F)50and14.1.1. theraceisthehorse'sfirstintheChannelIslands,14.1.2. theraceisthehorse'sfirstsincechangingTrainer,or14.1.3. thehorse isrequiredat therequestofaVeterinaryOfficer fora
routinevaccinationorhealthcheck.14.2. When the declaration sheet for the horse is verified in accordancewith
Rule (B)23 (verifying the declaration sheet), the horse and its passport

mustbeavailableforinspectionbyaVeterinaryOfficernotlessthanthreequartersofanhourbeforetheadvertisedtimefortherace.
14.3. Ifthehorse'spassportisnotavailableinaccordancewithParagraph14.2,theTrainerandtheOwnerofthehorseareliabletoDisciplinaryActionand
14.3.1. inthecircumstancesspecified inParagraph14.1.1or14.1.2, the
horseisnotpermittedtoruninanyraceundertheseRules(seeParagraph1.4ofSchedule(B)3);
14.3.2. inthecircumstancesspecifiedinParagraph14.1.3,thehorsemayruniftheTrainerconfirmsinwritingthatheholdsthepassport.
14.4. WheretherequirementsofParagraph14.2arenotcompliedwithonthefirstoccasionwhentheyapply,theyshallcontinuetoapplyuntiltheyarecompliedwith.
14.5. FailuretopresentthecorrecthorsetotheVeterinaryOfficerasrequiredbyParagraph14.2mayresultinDisciplinaryActionbeingtakenagainsttheTrainer.
15. IdentitycheckforhorsetrainedoutsidetheChannelIslands15.1. ThisRuleapplieseachtimeahorseistoruninaraceundertheseRules
where
15.1.1. thehorseistrainedinoutsidetheChannelIslands,and15.1.2. thedeclarationsheetforthehorseisverifiedinaccordancewith
Rule(B)23(verifyingthedeclarationsheet).15.2. AnidentitycheckmustbecarriedoutinaccordancewithParagraph15.3
or 15.4 and, unless the requirements of those Paragraphs are compliedwith
15.2.1. theTrainerandtheOwnerofthehorseareliabletoDisciplinary
Action,and15.2.2. the horsewill not be permitted to run in any race under these
Rules(seeParagraph2.1ofSchedule(B)3).15.3. If the horse has been issued with a passport by a Recognised Racing
Authority
15.3.1. thehorseand itspassportmustbeavailable for inspectionbyaVeterinaryOfficernotlessthanthreequartersofanhourbeforetheadvertisedtimefortherace,and
15.3.2. theTrainermustensurethattherequirementsofRule23arealsometinrelationtothehorse.
15.4. Ifthehorsehasnopassport

15.4.1. thehorsemustbepresentedtoaVeterinaryOfficer,notlessthanthreequartersofanhourbeforetheadvertisedtimefortherace,and
15.4.2. thefollowingdocumentsmustbelodgedattheAuthority’sOffice
15.4.2.1. anExportCertificate,and15.4.2.2. anageandmarkingscertificateforthehorsewhichis
signed in Great Britain or Ireland or the ChannelIslandsbyaVeterinarySurgeon,and
theTrainermustensurethattherequirementsofRule23arealsometinrelationtothehorse.
15.5. The age and markings certificate must be completed by a Veterinary
SurgeonwhoisunrelatedtoandindependentoftheOwnerofthehorse,theTrainerofthehorseandanyPersonemployedbytheTrainer.
16. Horses from outside the Channel Islands: export certificates and
passports16.1. Whereahorse is imported into theChannel Islands tobe trained in the
ChannelIslands,theExportCertificateforthehorsemustbereceivedbytheAuthoritybeforethehorsemaybedeclaredtoruninanyraceundertheseRules,andwithin90daysofarrivalintheChannelIslands.
16.2. Ahorsewhich is trainedoutside theChannel Islandsmaynot run for aperiodexceeding90daysontheproductionofitspassportalone.
16.3. ForthepurposesofParagraph16.2,theperiodof90dayscommenceswiththedatewhenthepassportisendorsedbytheRecognisedRacingAuthoritywherethehorseistrainedandisvalidforonejourneyonly.
16.4. Whereahorse is imported into theChannel Islands tobe trained in theChannelIslands,beforethehorsemaybedeclaredtoruninanyraceunderthese Rules, unless otherwise approved by the Authority, the Authoritymust be in receipt of a certificate of analysis issued by an Authority-approved Laboratory reporting no evidence of the presence or use of aprohibited substance or prohibitedmethod prohibited at all times in asample collected from the Horse in accordance with Schedule (G)2Paragraph4.Allsamplecollectionandanalysiscostsshallbebornebytheapplicant.
16.5. The Authoritymay from time to time exempt horses imported into theChannel Islands from certain Recognised Racing Authorities from beingsubjecttotherequirementinRule16.4.
17. Vaccinationsagainstequineinfluenza

17.1. ThisRuleappliesinrespectofanyhorsewhichentersRacecoursePropertyapartfrom
17.1.1. any foal less than 6 months old whose dam was vaccinated in
accordancewiththisRulebeforefoaling,or17.1.2. horses crossing land which is common ground or is subject to
statutoryrightsforpublicaccessforairandexercise.17.2. The horse must have been vaccinated against equine influenza by a
veterinarysurgeoninaccordancewithParagraphs17.3to17.6.
17.3. The vaccines administered must either appear on the list of equineinfluenza vaccinations which is maintained by the Authority or beacceptabletoaVeterinaryOfficer.
17.4. Thehorsemusthavereceivedtwoprimaryvaccinationswhicharegivennotlessthan21daysandnotmorethan92daysapart.
17.5. Ifsufficienttimehaselapsed,thehorsemustalsohavereceived
17.5.1. aboostervaccinationwhichisgivennotlessthan150daysandnotmore than215daysafter thesecondcomponentof theprimaryvaccination,and
17.5.2. further booster vaccinations at intervals of notmore than eightmonths apart (or such lesser time as the Authority may, in anemergency,decide).
17.6. Noneofthevaccinationsmusthavebeengivenonthedayofaraceinwhich
thehorseisdeclaredtorunoronanyofthe6daysbeforetherace.
17.7. IntheeventoffailuretocomplywithanyoftherequirementsofthisRuleinrespectofahorsewhichisonRacecourseProperty
17.7.1. unlesstheStewardshavegiventheirpermissionthehorsewillnot
bepermittedtoruninanyrace;and17.7.2. the Trainer or the Owner of the horse is liable to Disciplinary
Action.17.8. TheTrainerortheOwnerofthehorseshallnotbeliableunderRule17.7
when
17.8.1. thefailuretocomplywiththerequirementsofthisRuleoccurredprior to the horse coming into the Trainer or Owner's care orcontrol,and
17.8.2. aVeterinaryOfficerhassubsequentlyinspectedthenon-compliantpassportandincorrectlystampeditassatisfactory,and
17.8.3. theTrainerortheOwnerhasnotpreviouslybeennotifiedoftheerror.

18. Vaccinationchecks18.1. ForthepurposesofdeterminingwhethertherequirementsofRule17have
been met, the following documents must be available for inspection inrespectofahorsewhichisonRacecourseProperty
18.1.1. anypassportissuedforthehorse,or18.1.2. thevaccinationrecordsforthehorse.
18.2. Where the horse has a passport, the vaccination section of the horse's
passport must have been completed by a Veterinary Surgeon or aRecognisedRacingAuthority.
18.3. Vaccination records for a horse whichmeet the conditions specified inParagraph18.4maybereliedonwhere
18.3.1. thehorseistrainedinacountrythatdoesnotissuepassports,or18.3.2. nopassporthasbeen issuedforahorsewhich isbrought to the
meetingasacompanionanimal.18.4. The conditions are that the vaccination records include a combined
identificationandvaccinationcertificate signedbyaVeterinarySurgeonwhichidentifiesthehorse,statesthatithasreceivedvaccinationsagainstequineinfluenzaandgivesthedatesofeachvaccination.
18.5. TheconditionsinParagraph18.2shallberegardedasnothavingbeenmetifanyentryinapassportofdetailsofvaccinationagainstequineinfluenzahasbeenalteredinanywayotherthanwhere
18.5.1. anincorrectentryhasbeencompletelydeleted,and18.5.2. anewentryhasbeenmadeandsigned
18.5.2.1. bytheVeterinarySurgeonwhogavethevaccination,
or18.5.2.2. if that Veterinary Surgeon (or his representative)
provided details of the vaccination to anotherVeterinarySurgeon,bythatotherVeterinarySurgeon.
18.6. Any passport or vaccination recordmust be completed by a Veterinary
Surgeonwhosatisfiesthefollowingconditions:
18.6.1. TheVeterinarySurgeonmustnotbe:
18.6.1.1. theOwnerofthehorseoranypersonrelatedtotheOwnerofthehorse;
18.6.1.2. theTrainerofthehorseoranypersonrelatedtotheTrainerofthehorse;or
18.6.1.3. aPersonemployedbytheTrainer;and

18.6.2. TheVeterinarySurgeonmustbe independentof theOwnerandTrainerofthehorse.
18.7. Where the Authority is not satisfied that the Veterinary Surgeon is
independentoftheOwnerandtheTrainerofthehorse,itmayrejectanypassportorvaccinationrecord.ThisParagraphapplieswhetherornottheAuthority subsequently commences an enquiry to consider possibleDisciplinaryAction.
Chapter4–Racingoutsidecountryoftraining19. RequirementsforracingoutsidetheChannelIslands19.1. No horsewhich is trained in the Channel Islandsmay race outside the
ChannelIslandsunlesseither
19.1.1. a racing clearance notification in respect of the race has beenissuedforthehorseunderRule20,or
19.1.2. any passport issued for the horse by a Recognised RacingAuthorityhasbeenendorsedunderRule21.
20. Racingclearancenotifications20.1. In this Rule, a racing clearance notification is a notification from the
AuthoritytoaRecognisedRacingAuthority
20.1.1. stating that the Trainer holds a licence to train granted by theAuthority,and
20.1.2. statingthatthenameoftheOwnerofthehorseisregisteredanddoesnotappearontheForfeitList,and
20.1.3. indicatingwhetherthehorseisfreefromrestrictionsthatpreventsitfromracing.
20.2. Wherearacingclearancenotificationisrequiredforahorseinrespectofa
race,therequestmustbemadetotheAuthoritynolaterthantwoworkingdayspriortothedeadlineforthepre-racedaydeclarationfortherace.
20.3. Whereanotificationisissued,itisvalidonlyfortheraceorfortheperiodstatedonthenotification.
20.4. Ifthenotificationisforastatedperiod
20.4.1. theperiodmaynotexceed90days,20.4.2. anewnotificationmustberequestedif,duringtheperiod,thereis
anychangetotheTrainerorOwnerofthehorse,and20.4.3. thehorsemaynotremainoutsidetheChannelIslandsaftertheend
oftheperiodwithoutfirstobtainingpermissiontodosofromtheAuthorityandrequestinganewracingclearancenotification.

20.5. Any request for a notification which is made under Paragraph 20.2 or20.4.3mustbeaccompaniedbytheappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1.
20.6. Whereanotificationisissuedforahorsetoruninmorethanoneraceinthesamecountry,thenotificationceasestobevalidwhenthehorseleavesthatcountry.
20.7. Wherethehorseistoraceinmorethanonecountry
20.7.1. anotificationmaybe issuedby theAuthority only in respect ofracesinthefirstcountrytobevisited,and
20.7.2. in respect of any race in each subsequent country, a racingclearance notification must be requested from The RecognisedRacing Authority of the country last visited by the horsewhichimmediatelyprecedesthatinwhichtheraceistobeheld.
20.8. AracingclearancenotificationreferredtoinParagraph20.7.2willindicate
only whether any new restrictions have been imposed on the horse topreventitfromracingand,ifsuchrestrictionsareimposed,itwillspecifythedetailsoftherestrictions(withsuchdetailsalsobeingforwardedtotheAuthority).
21. Passportendorsement21.1. ThisRuleappliesonlyifahorsetrainedintheChannelIslands
21.1.1. is to raceunder the rulesofaRecognisedRacingAuthorityofacountryotherthantheChannelIslands,and
21.1.2. maynotdosoinaccordancewiththerulesofthatRacingAuthorityunlessthepassportissuedunderRule13inrespectofthehorsehasbeenendorsedbytheAuthority.
21.2. TheTrainerofthehorsemayapplytotheAuthorityforendorsementofthe
horse'spassport.21.3. Anyapplicationfortheendorsementofapassportmustbeaccompanied
bytheappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1.
21.4. Thepassportmaybeendorsedat theAuthority'sOfficeoratsuchotherplaceastheAuthoritymaydetermine.
21.5. Apassport issignedanddatedonendorsementand theendorsement isvalidforonemonthfromthatdate.
21.6. IfthehorsedoesnottravelbeyondtheChannelIslands,theTrainer(orhisrepresentative) must return the passport to the Authority’s Office forcancellation.

22. Applicationforpassportendorsement22.1. Where an endorsement under Rule 21 is to be done at the Authority's
Office,anapplicationforendorsementmustbesubmittedtotheAuthoritytogetherwith
22.1.1. thepassportissuedunderRule13inrespectofthehorse,22.1.2. thenameoftheOwnerofthehorse,and22.1.3. thenameofthecountrytowhichthehorseistravelling.
23. RequirementsforracingintheChannelIslands23.1. NohorsewhichistrainedinoutsidetheChannelIslandsmayraceunder
theseRulesunless23.1.1. The Authority has received a racing clearance notification in
respectoftheracefromaRecognisedRacingAuthoritybythecloseofbusinessthedaypriortothedaythehorseisdeclaredtorununderRule(F)50,or
23.1.2. the horse's passport has been endorsed by or on behalf of theRecognised Racing Authority of the countrywhere the horse istrained;and
23.1.3. thehorsehasbeenpresentintheChannelIslandsforaminimumoftendaysbeforetherace;and
23.1.4. thehorsehasprovidedasampleinthatperiodwhichdisclosesnoevidence of the presence or use of a prohibited substance or aprohibitedmethodlistedasprohibitedinSchedule(G)1.
23.2. ThesamplemusthavebeencollectedbytheAuthorityandanalysedbya
LaboratoryapprovedbytheAuthority.23.3. ForthepurposesofParagraph23.1.1,aracingclearancenotificationisa
notification
23.3.1. stating that the Trainer is duly qualified in the country of thatRecognisedRacingAuthority,
23.3.2. statingthatallrequirementsoftherulesoftheRecognisedRacingAuthoritythatapplytotheownerofthehorsearemet,and
23.3.3. indicating whether the horse is free from any restriction thatpreventsitfromracing.
23.4. Aracingclearancenotificationorendorsementofahorse'spassportmust
bevalidandmustbedatednotmorethan90daysbeforetherace.
23.5. FailuretocomplywithanyoftherequirementsofthisRulemayresultinDisciplinaryActionbeingtakenagainsttheTrainerofthehorseunlesstheTrainersatisfiestheAuthorityortheStewardsthatthefailurewasduetocircumstanceswhichtheyconsideracceptable.

23.6. The Authority may from time to time exempt horses from certainRecognisedRacingAuthoritiesfrombeingsubjecttotherequirementsinParagraphs23.1.3and23.1.4.
Chapter5–Miscellaneous
24. Reckoningtheageofahorse24.1. TheageofanyhorseshallbereckonedasbeginningonJanuary1stinthe
yearinwhichitisfoaled.25. Registrationofnon-racingagreements25.1. InthisRule,aNon-RacingAgreementisanagreementunderwhichahorse
whichhasbeenretiredfromracingbyitsOwneristransferredtoanotherPerson,butsubjecttoaconditionthatthehorsewillnotraceagain.
25.2. TheAuthoritymayregisteraNon-RacingAgreementonlyifaFormNRA1is25.2.1. inthePrescribedform,25.2.2. signedbythePersontransferringthehorseandbythetransferee,
and25.2.3. submittedtotheAuthority.
25.3. TheFormNRA1mustbeaccompaniedbythehorse'spassport.
25.4. Where a Non-Racing Agreement is registered, it shall be recorded by
Authorityandthehorse'spassportendorsedaccordingly.
25.5. WhereaNon-RacingAgreementisregistered,theAuthoritywillnotifythePersonwhotransferredthehorseofanyoccasiononwhichthehorse isreportedasbeingintrainingoranattemptismadetoenterittoruninaraceundertheseRules,whicheveristheearlier,andwillpreventthehorsefrombeingenteredtoruninanysuchrace.
25.6. TheAuthoritymaycanceltheregistrationofaNon-RacingAgreement
25.6.1. whereitreceivesawritten,andsigned,noticeofcancellationinthePrescribed Form NRA2, from all Persons who signed the FormNRA1,or
25.6.2. insuchothercircumstancesasitconsidersappropriate.25.7. TheAuthoritywilluphold requests fromRecognisedTurfAuthorities to
reciprocateanequivalentagreement,andwillpreventanysuchhorsefrombeingenteredorruninaraceundertheseRules.
26. Notificationofneurectomyoperations

26.1. InthisRule,aNeurectomyisdefinedasaprocedurewhichpermanentlyinterfereswithaspecificandanatomicallyrecognisednerveusingsurgery,cryosurgery, chemical interference or any other means resulting indesensitisationofanypartofthelimb.
26.2. When a horse that is under the care or control of a Licensed TrainerundergoesaNeurectomy,thatTrainermustnotifytheAuthoritynolaterthan7daysafterthehorsehasundergonetheNeurectomy,andensurethatthesurgeonendorsesthehorses'passport.
26.3. WhereahorsethatisnotunderthecareorcontrolofaLicensedTrainerundergoesaNeurectomy
26.3.1. theOwnermustnotifytheAuthoritynolaterthan7daysafterthe
horsehasundergonetheNeurectomy,andensurethatthesurgeonendorsesthehorses'passport,and
26.3.2. intheeventthatthehorsesubsequentlycomesunderthecareorcontrol of a Licensed Trainer, that Trainer must notify theAuthoritynolaterthan7daysafterthehorsehascomeunderhiscareorcontrol.
26.4. ToestablishacontraventionofParagraph26.3.2 it isnotnecessarythat
knowledge of the Neurectomy on the part of the Licensed Trainer bedemonstrated,althoughtheAuthoritymaydecidenottotakeDisciplinaryAction in respect of a contraventionof Paragraph26.3.2 if the LicensedTrainersatisfiestheAuthoritythathetookallreasonableprecautionsandexercised all due diligence to ascertain whether or not the horse hadpreviouslyundergoneaNeurectomy.
26.5. NotificationofaNeurectomytotheAuthoritymustbeaccompaniedbythe
horse'spassport.
26.6. When a Neurectomy is notified in accordance with this Rule, theNeurectomyshallberecordedbytheAuthorityandthehorse'spassportendorsedaccordingly.
26.7. A horsewhich has been subject to a Neurectomy shall be permanentlyineligibletorace.
27. RetirementfromracingunderRules27.1. AnOwnermay notify the Authority of the permanent retirement of his
horse from racingunder theRules ofRacing throughnotification to theAuthorityusingthePrescribedformasstipulatedfromtimetotime.
27.2. NotificationpursuanttoParagraph27.1shallhavetheeffectprovidedforinManual(G).

27.3. ThehorsewillremainineligibletoraceundertheRulesofRacingunlessanduntilthefollowing
27.3.1. theAuthority’sOffice has receivednotification that the horse is
seekingre-eligibility.SuchnotificationshallbebythePrescribedformasstipulatedfromtimetotime,andcanbesubmittedbytheOwner who retired the horse pursuant to Paragraph 27.1 oranothersubsequentOwner;and
27.3.2. thehorseandtheResponsiblePerson(s)havecompliedwithanyrequirements imposed by the Authority pursuant to Schedule(G)2, providing forwhereabouts information tobeprovided forthepurposesofOut-of-CompetitionTesting;and
27.3.3. any samples collected pursuant to Paragraph 27.3.2 show noevidence of the presence or use of a prohibited substance orprohibitedmethodlistedasprohibitedinSchedule(G)1.

30.5. Different forms may be Prescribed for applications for registration ofdifferentcategoriesofowner.
30.6. Indeterminingwhethertoapproveanapplication,theAuthoritymayhaveregard to such matters as it considers appropriate, including (but notlimitedto)thosespecifiedinrelationtoeachdescriptionofapplicant.
30.7. WheretheAuthorityapprovesanapplication
30.7.1. itshallentertheOwner'snameintheregister,and30.7.2. the entry becomes effective from the beginning of the day
following the day of approval unless directed otherwise by theAuthority.
30.8. Inapprovinganapplication,theAuthoritymayimposesuchrestrictionsor
conditions as it considers appropriate for or in connection with theapproval(forexample,byrequiringtheprovisionofguaranteesorothersecuritybyanydirectororotherofficerofabodycorporate).
31. RegistrationofSoleOwners
31.1. AsoleOwnerisanindividualwhohasaninterestinallorpartofahorse.
31.2. TheregistrationofaSoleOwnerintheregisterofOwnersmustbemadein
accordancewithRules31to33.31.3. AnapplicationforentryintheregisterofOwnersasaSoleOwner
31.3.1. mustcontainallinformationrequiredbythePrescribedForm,and31.3.2. mustbeaccompanied, if requiredbytheAuthority,byacopyof
anydocumentrequestedbytheAuthority.31.4. Inrelationtoapplicationsmadeinaccordancewiththeseprovisions,the
Authority
31.4.1. must refuse to approve the application if the individual is aDisqualifiedPerson,and
31.4.2. mayrefusetoapprovetheapplicationinsuchothercircumstancesasitconsidersappropriate.

31.5. WheretheAuthorityapprovestheapplication:
31.5.1. it may register the Sole Owner subject to such restrictions orconditionsasitconsidersappropriate,and
31.5.2. theregistrationshallbecomeeffectivefromthebeginningoftheday following the day of approval, unless the Authority directsotherwise.
32. NametobeusedwhenrunningahorseinownershipofaSoleOwner32.1. AnyhorseownedbyaSoleOwnermustbeenteredandrunundertheSole
Owner'snameexceptwheretheAuthorityhasregisteredaperson'sscreen,stageorpennameonthegroundsthatthepersonisbetterknownpubliclybyanassumednamethanbyhisrealname.
32.2. ThepersonalrepresentativeofanindividualwhoisdeceasedmayrunthehorsesolelyunderthefollowingdescriptionunlesshehasbeennotifiedbytheAuthoritythatheisrequiredtomakeanapplicationunderthisParttoregisterhisownnameintheregisterofOwners
Executor(s) (or Administrator(s) or Personal Representative) of insertnameofthedeceasedPerson.
32.3. Ahorsewhichisenteredorruninaraceusinganamethatisotherwise
than inaccordancewith thisRule is liable tobedisqualifiedunderRule(A)66(seeGround6ofthatRule).
33. CancellationofregistrationofindividualregisteredasaSoleOwner33.1. ThisRuleappliestoanindividualwhosenameisenteredintheregisterof
OwnersasaSoleOwnerofahorse.
33.2. ASoleOwner'sregistrationisvoidif,whenhisapplicationforregistrationwasapprovedbytheAuthority
33.2.1. hewasaDisqualifiedPerson,or33.2.2. hehasbeendeclaredéndesastreorabankruptcyorderhadbeen
madeagainsthim.33.3. ASoleOwner'sregistrationshall immediatelyceasetobevalid if,atany
timeaftertheapprovalofhisapplicationforregistration
33.3.1. heisdeclaredtobeaDisqualifiedPerson,33.3.2. hehasbeendeclaredéndesastreorabankruptcyorderhadbeen
madeagainsthim;33.3.3. hedoesnothaveahorsereturnedasbeingintrainingunderthese
Rulesfor24months,or33.3.4. theAuthoritygivesadirectionunderParagraph33.4.

33.4. TheAuthoritymayatanytimedirectthataSoleOwner'sregistrationshallceasetobevalidinsuchothercircumstancesasitconsidersappropriate.
33.5. WhereaSoleOwner'sregistrationisvoidorceasestobevalidunderthisRuletheAuthorityshallremovehisnamefromtheregister.
33.6. IfaPerson'snameisremovedfromtheregisteronthegroundthattheSoleOwnerwasaDisqualifiedPersonorwasdeclaredéndesastreorsubjecttoa bankruptcy order, the Authority may not approve an application torestorehisregistrationuntil33.6.1. threemonthshaveelapsedfromthedateonwhichtheSoleOwner
ceasedtobedisqualifiedorbankrupt,unless33.6.2. the Authority is satisfied that the circumstances of the
disqualification or bankruptcy were outside his reasonablecontrol.
34. RegistrationofCompanies34.1. TheregistrationofaCompanyintheregisterofOwnersmustbemadein
accordancewithRules34to45.
34.2. ACompanymustberegisteredwiththeAuthorityifthehorseownedbythatCompanyistobeenteredorruninaraceundertheseRules.
34.3. AnapplicationforentryintheregisterofOwnersmadebyaCompanymust
34.3.1. containallinformationrequiredbythePrescribedform,and34.3.2. be accompanied by such other details as the Authority may
require.34.4. WhereanapplicationismadeinaccordancewithRule30andthisRule,the
Authority
34.4.1. mustrefusetoapprovetheapplicationifitappearstoitthatanyofthedirectorsorsecretary(orjointsecretary)ofthecompanyisaDisqualifiedPerson,and
34.4.2. mayrefusetoapprovetheapplicationinsuchothercircumstancesasitconsidersappropriate.
34.5. WheretheAuthorityapprovestheregistrationapplication:
34.5.1. it may register the Company subject to such restrictions orconditionsasitconsidersappropriate,and
34.5.2. theregistrationshallbecomeeffectivefromthebeginningoftheday following the day of approval, unless the Authority directsotherwise.
35. RecognisedCompanyandOwnerofhorse

35.1. ACompanywhichisforthetimebeingregisteredunderRule34isreferred
tointheseRulesasaRecognisedCompany.
35.2. In relation to any horse in the ownership of a Recognised Company,referencestothehorse'sowneraretothecompanyactingthroughanagentwhoisappointedandregisteredinaccordancewithRule36.
36. Recognisedcompanytoactthroughregisteredagent36.1. ForthepurposesoftheseRules,aRecognisedCompanymaynottakeany
stepsinrespectofahorseinitsownershipunless
36.1.1. the Recognised Company has appointed one ormore agents toexercisethepowersofowneronitsbehalf(theRegisteredAgent),
36.1.2. atleastonesuchagenthasbeenapprovedbytheAuthority,and36.1.3. the name of the agent and the particulars of the horse are
registeredwiththeAuthority.36.2. Inparticular
36.2.1. anyentryofahorsemustbemadebyaRegisteredAgent,and36.2.2. a horse may not fulfil any engagement at any time when the
RecognisedCompanyhasnoRegisteredAgent.36.3. Where an agent is appointed for the purposes of Paragraph 36, the
appointmentmust bemade using the Prescribed form and executed onbehalfoftheRecognisedCompany,byadirectorofthecompany.
36.4. TheAuthoritymayrefusetoapproveanagentunderParagraph36
36.4.1. iftheagent'sappointmenthasnotbeenmadeinaccordancewithParagraph36.3,
36.4.2. iftheagentisaDisqualifiedPerson,or36.4.3. in such other circumstances as the Authority considers
appropriate.
36.5. NoagentwillberegisteredunderParagraph36unlesstheAuthorityhasreceivedtheappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1.
36.6. UnlessregistrationofanagentisrenewedbytheAuthorityonreceiptofpaymentoftheappropriatefee,theregistrationexpiresattheendofeach12monthperiodthatstartsontheanniversaryoftheinitialregistration.
37. NametobeusedwhenrunningahorseinownershipofaRecognised
Company37.1. AnyhorseintheownershipofaRecognisedCompanymustbeenteredand
runinanyraceusingthenameoftheRecognisedCompany.

38. DutytonotifychangesastoCompanyDirectorsorsecretary38.1. ARecognisedCompanymustensurethattheAuthorityisnotifiedof
38.1.1. thenameandcontactdetailsofanynewDirectoroftheCompany,38.1.2. anychangestothedetailsoftheotherDirectors,an38.1.3. theappointmentofanewsecretary.
38.2. 44.2NoticeunderParagraph38.1.1mustbesentnolaterthan21daysafter
theappointmentofthenewDirector.
38.3. NoticeunderParagraph38.1.2or38.1.3mustbesentassoonasreasonablypossibleaftertheoccurrenceoftheeventtowhichitrelates.
39. CancellationofregistrationofaRecognisedCompany39.1. TheregistrationofaRecognisedCompanyshall immediatelyceasetobe
validif39.1.1. aDirectoroftheCompanybecomesaDisqualifiedPerson,39.1.2. anofficerofthecompanyfailstoprovidewithinareasonabletime
anyinformationrequiredbytheAuthority,or39.1.3. theAuthoritygivesadirectionunderParagraph39.2.
39.2. TheAuthoritymayatanytimedirectthattheregistrationofaRecognised
Companyshallceasetobevalid
39.2.1. ifaRegisteredAgentofthecompanyisorbecomesaDisqualifiedPerson,
39.2.2. ifthecompanymakesanyassignmentforthebenefitofcreditorsormakesanycompositionwithcreditors,
39.2.3. ifanyactionorproceedingsunderinsolvencyorbankruptcylawistakenagainstthecompany,
39.2.4. if the company is the subject of a voluntary or compulsoryliquidation (other than for the purpose of reconstruction oramalgamation)
39.2.5. in such other circumstances as the Authority considersappropriate.
40. Cancellationofregistrationofaregisteredagent40.1. Theregistrationofanagentappointedbythecompanyshallimmediately
ceasetobevalidif40.1.1. theregistrationofthecompanyceasestobevalidunderRule39.1,40.1.2. theagentisorbecomesaDisqualifiedPerson,

40.1.3. the agent is declared én desastre or becomes subject to abankruptcyorder,
40.1.4. thepaymentoftheannualfeerequiredbyRule36.5isinarrearsbymorethan14days,or

theownershipandmanagementofanyhorsetrainedintheChannelIslands
41.1.1. aPartnership,41.1.2. aSyndicate,41.1.3. aRacingClub,41.1.4. aleasethatappliestoahorseforasinglerace,or41.1.5. anyotherleaseorsharedarrangementfortherunningofahorse.
42. RegistrationofaPartnership
42.1. Whereahorsehastwoormorelegalownersthehorsemayberegistered
asaPartnership.
42.2. ThePartnershipwillconsistofanumberofPartnerswhoeachshallbeoneormoreofthefollowing:
42.2.1. SoleOwner;42.2.2. aRecognisedCompany,42.2.3. aSyndicate,or42.2.4. aRacingClub.
42.3. InrelationtoanyhorseintheownershipofaPartnership,referencestothe
horse'sOwneraretothePartners.
42.4. APartnershipmustberegisteredwiththeAuthorityifthehorseownedbythatPartnershipistobeenteredorruninaraceundertheseRules.
43. Conditionsforinitialregistration43.1. TheregistrationofaPartnershipintheregisterofOwnersmustbemade
inaccordancewithRules42to46.
43.2. NoPartnershipmayberegisteredunless:

43.2.1. theapplicationismadeusingthePrescribedformandissenttothe
Authority’sOffice,43.2.2. eachofthePartnersisregisteredinhisownright inaccordance
withRule42.2,43.2.3. the application specifies the Partnership nameunderwhich the
horseistorun,and43.2.4. the appropriate fee for initial registration specified in Schedule
(A)1hasbeenreceivedbytheAuthority.43.3. Where an application ismade in accordancewith Rules 42 and 43, the
Authority
43.3.1. mustrefusetoapprovetheapplicationifitappearstoitthatanyofthePartnersisaDisqualifiedPerson,and
43.3.2. mayrefusetoapprovetheapplicationinsuchothercircumstancesasitconsidersappropriate.
43.4. WheretheAuthorityapprovestheregistrationapplication:
43.4.1. it may register the Partnership subject to such restrictions orconditionsasitconsidersappropriate;and
43.4.2. theregistrationshallbecomeeffectivefromthebeginningoftheday following the day of approval, unless the Authority directsotherwise.
44. NametobeusedwhenrunningahorsesubjecttoaPartnership44.1. AnyhorseintheownershipofaPartnershipmustbeenteredandrunin
anyraceusingthenameofthePartnershipthatwasspecifiedforthehorseintheapplicationforregistrationunderRule43.
44.2. A horse which is entered or run using any other name is liable to bedisqualifiedunderRule(A)66(seeGround6ofthatRule).
44.3. The Partnership name may be changed only with the approval of theAuthorityonpaymentoftheappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1.
45. OwnerofhorseandobligationsofPartners45.1. InrelationtoanyhorsesubjecttoaPartnership,referencestothehorse's
owneraretoeachPartner.
45.2. APartnermayassignhisshareinahorse(inwholeorinpart)subjecttoobtaining the consent of all other Partners and on payment of theappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1.
45.3. The Partners of a horse subject to the Partnership shall be jointly andseverally liable for any sum due under these Rules as a result of any

engagement for thehorse that ismadebeforeanoticeof termination isreceivedbytheAuthorityunderRule47.1.1.
46. NotificationofInformation46.1. InrespectofaPartnership,theAuthoritymustbenotifiedof:
46.1.1. anychangestothecompositionofaPartnership;46.1.2. the relativeproportions of eachPartner's ownership interest in
anyhorsesubjecttothePartnership;and46.1.3. suchotherdetailsastheAuthoritymayrequest.
46.2. InformationrequiredbyRule46.1mustbeprovidedtotheAuthorityno
laterthan21daysafterthechangeorrequestoccurs.47. CancellationofregistrationofaPartnership47.1. TheregistrationofaPartnershipshallimmediatelyceasetobevalidif
47.1.1. anyPartnerorhisAuthorisedAgentgivesnoticetotheAuthorityoftheterminationoftheagreementforPartnership,or
47.1.2. theAuthoritygivesadirectionunderParagraph47.2.47.2. TheAuthoritymayatanytimedirectthattheregistrationofaPartnership
shallimmediatelyceasetobevalid47.2.1. ifanypersonslistedinRule42.2ceasestoberegisteredwiththe
Authority,or47.2.2. insuchothercircumstancesasitconsidersappropriate.
48. RegistrationofSyndicates48.1. Whereahorsehastwoormorelegalownersthehorsemayberegistered
underaSyndicate.
48.2. TheregistrationofaSyndicateintheregisterofOwnersmustbemadeinaccordancewithRule48.
48.3. ASyndicatemustberegisteredwiththeAuthorityifthehorseownedbythatSyndicateistobeenteredorruninaraceundertheseRules.
48.4. EachSyndicatemustappointatleastonePersontomanage,administerorpromoteaSyndicate(theSyndicator).
48.5. TheSyndicatormustberegisteredasanOwnerwiththeAuthorityinhisownright.
48.6. TheregistrationapplicationsubmittedbytheSyndicatemustbemadeto,andbeapprovedbytheAuthority,andsuchapplicationmust:

48.6.1. besubmittedtotheAuthority,togetherwiththeappropriatefeeas
specifiedinSchedule(A)1;48.6.2. bemadeusingthePrescribedform;and48.6.3. providesuchotherdetailsastheAuthoritymayrequire.
48.7. InrespectofaSyndicate,theAuthoritymustalsobenotifiedof:
48.7.1. theresignationofaSyndicator;48.7.2. theappointmentofanewSyndicator;48.7.3. any changes to the composition of the participants in the
Syndicate;48.7.4. anychangetothehorsesownedbytheSyndicate;48.7.5. anychangetothenamesandcontactdetailsofallparticipantsin
theSyndicate (to includeaPersonwithany legal interest in thehorse)astheAuthoritymayrequire;and
48.7.6. suchotherdetailsastheAuthoritymayrequest.48.8. InformationrequiredbyRule48.7mustbeprovidedtotheAuthorityno
later than21daysafter theresignation,appointment,changeorrequestoccurs.
48.9. TheAuthoritymayrefusetoapprovetheregistrationapplicationwhere:
48.9.1. theSyndicator(s)doesnotholdanexistingregistrationwiththeAuthoritypursuanttoRule48.5above;or
48.9.2. insuchothercircumstancesasitconsidersappropriate.48.10. WheretheAuthorityapprovestheregistrationapplication:
48.10.1. it may register the Syndicate subject to any restrictions orconditionsitconsidersnecessary;and
48.10.2. theregistrationshallbecomeeffectivefromthebeginningoftheday following the day of approval, unless the Authority directsotherwise.
49. SyndicatetoactthroughSyndicator49.1. EachSyndicatorshallbetheOwnerofthehorseandshall,subjecttoRule
49.2:
49.1.1. be jointlyandseverally liable foranysumsdue fromtheOwnerundertheseRules;and
49.1.2. be subject to all other liabilities, duties and privileges ofownership.
49.2. ASyndicatorwhohasresignedinaccordancewithRule48.7.1:

49.2.1. shallbeliableforanysumswhichaccruedorbecameduebeforenoticeofhisresignationhasbeenreceivedbytheAuthority;but
49.2.2. shallnotbeliableforanysumswhichbecomedueafternoticeofhisresignationhasbeenreceivedbytheAuthority.
49.3. Noprivilegeofownershipshallattachtoanyparticipants inaSyndicate
whoisnotaSyndicator,exceptfortheprivilegeofrunningahorseunderthenameofaSyndicate.
49.4. For the purposes of these Rules, a Syndicatemay not take any steps inrespectofahorseinitsownershipunlesstheyaretakenbyoneormoreSyndicators.
50. NametobeusedwhenrunningahorsesubjecttoaSyndicate
50.1. AhorseregisteredunderaSyndicatemustbeenteredandruninanyraceusingthenameoftheSyndicatespecifiedintheapplicationforregistrationunderRule48.
50.2. A horse which is entered or run using any other name is liable to bedisqualifiedunderRule(A)66(seeGround6ofthatRule).
50.3. The Syndicate name may be changed only with the approval of theAuthorityonpaymentoftheappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1.
51. CancellationofregistrationofaSyndicate51.1. TheAuthoritymayatanytimedirectthattheregistrationofaSyndicate
shallceasetobevalid:
51.1.1. whereatanytimethereisfewerthanoneSyndicator;51.1.2. where any of the members in the Syndicate is or becomes a
DisqualifiedPerson;51.1.3. whereaSyndicatorfailstoprovidewithinareasonabletimeany
informationrequiredbytheAuthority;51.1.4. if it appears to the Authority that any of the members in the
SyndicatehasceasedtomaintainaninterestineachhorseintheownershipoftheSyndicate;
51.1.5. ifanyaction,proceedingsorarrangementunderanyinsolvencyorbankruptcylawistakenbyoragainstanySyndicator;
51.1.6. iftheAuthorityconsidersthatappropriatefinancialarrangementsarenot inplaceforthepurposesofsecuringpaymentofall feesandthereceiptofallpaymentswhichareduefromtheownerinconnectionwithracing;
51.1.7. where a Syndicator fails to adhere to the Code of Conduct (asdefinedinRule52);or
51.1.8. in such other circumstances as the Authority considersappropriate.

52. CodeofConduct52.1. Where,inrespectofaSyndicate:
52.1.1. the arrangement is managed, administered or promoted by aSyndicatorwhoreceivespayment,inrelationtotheirrole,and/or
52.1.2. the method(s) of attracting participation in the arrangementincludeinvitationstothepublic,whetherbywayofadvertisementorotherwise,
theSyndicatormustadheretocodeofconductatSchedule5(theCodeofConduct).
53. RegistrationofRacingClubs53.1. Whereahorse's legalowner invitesparticipationfromother individuals
butretainsthelegalownershipinteresttoformanownershipentity,thehorsemayberegisteredunderaRacingClub.
53.2. TheregistrationofaRacingClubintheregisterofOwnersmustbemadeinaccordancewithRule53.
53.3. ARacingClubmustberegisteredwiththeAuthorityifahorseownedbythatRacingClubistobeenteredorruninaraceundertheseRules.
53.4. EachRacingClubmustappointatleastonePersontomanageoradministeraRacingClub(theClubManager).
53.5. TheClubManagermustberegisteredasanOwnerwiththeAuthorityinhisownright.
53.6. TheregistrationapplicationsubmittedbytheClubManager(s)onbehalfoftheRacingClubmustbemadeto,andbeapprovedbytheAuthority,andsuchapplicationmust:
53.6.1. besubmittedtotheAuthority,togetherwiththeappropriatefeeas
specifiedinScheduleA(1);53.6.2. bemadeusingthePrescribedForm;53.6.3. providesuchotherdetailsastheAuthoritymayrequire.
53.7. InrespectofaRacingClub,theAuthoritymustalsobenotifiedof:
53.7.1. theresignationofaClubManager;53.7.2. theappointmentofanewClubManager;53.7.3. at the requestof theAuthority, a listof allPersonswhoare (or
were)membersoftheRacingClubasatsuchdateastheAuthoritymayrequest;
53.7.4. anychangetothelistofhorsestorunundertheRacingClub;

53.7.5. anyRacingClubmemberwhoisorbecomesaDisqualifiedPerson;and
53.7.6. suchotherdetailsastheAuthoritymayrequest.53.8. InformationrequiredbyRule53.7mustbeprovidedtotheAuthorityno
later than21daysafter theresignation,appointment,changeorrequestoccurs.
53.9. TheAuthoritymayrefusetoapprovetheregistrationapplicationwhere:
53.9.1. one or more of the Club Managers does not hold an existingregistrationwiththeAuthoritypursuanttoRule53.5above;o
53.9.2. insuchothercircumstancesasitconsidersappropriate.53.10. WheretheAuthorityapprovestheregistrationapplication:
53.10.1. it may register the Racing Club subject to such restrictions orconditionsasitconsidersappropriate;and
53.10.2. theregistrationshallbecomeeffectivefromthebeginningoftheday following the day of approval, unless the Authority directsotherwise.
54. RacingClubtoactthroughClubManager54.1. InrelationtoanyhorseintheownershipofaRacingClub:
54.1.1. referencestothehorse'sowneraretotheClubManager(s);54.1.2. ifthereismorethanoneClubManager,eachClubManager:
54.1.2.1. shallbetreatedasifheweretheOwner(s);54.1.2.2. shall, subject to Rule 54.2, be jointly and severally
liableforanysumsduefromtheOwnerundertheseRules;and
54.1.2.3. ClubManagersshallbesubjecttoallotherliabilities,dutiesandprivilegesofownership.
54.2. AClubManagerwhohasresignedinaccordancewithRule53.7.1:
54.2.1. shallbeliableforanysumswhichaccruedorbecameduebefore
noticeofhisresignationhasbeenreceivedbytheAuthority;but54.2.2. shallnotbeliableforanysumswhichbecomedueafternoticeof
hisresignationhasbeenreceivedbytheAuthority.
54.3. NoprivilegeofownershipshallattachtoanyparticipantsinaRacingClubwhoisnotaClubManager,exceptfortheprivilegeofrunningahorseunderthenameofaRacingClub.

54.4. ForthepurposesoftheseRules,aRacingClubmaynottakeanystepsinrespectofahorseinitsownershipunlesstheyaretakenbyoneormoreClubManager.
55. NametobeusedwhenrunningahorsesubjecttoaRacingClub55.1. AnyhorseregisteredunderaRacingClubmustbeenteredandruninany
race using the name of the Racing Club specified in the application forregistrationunderRule53.
55.2. A horse which is entered or run using any other name is liable to bedisqualifiedunderRule(A)66(seeGround6ofthatRule).
55.3. The Racing Club name may be changed only with the approval of theAuthorityonpaymentoftheappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1.
56. CancellationofregistrationofaRacingClub56.1. TheAuthoritymayatanytimedirectthattheregistrationofaRacingClub
shallceasetobevalidif:
56.1.1. atanytimethereisfewerthanoneClubManager;56.1.2. anyofthemembersoftheRacingClubisorbecomesaDisqualified
Person;56.1.3. a Club Manager fails to provide within a reasonable time any
informationrequiredbytheAuthority;or56.1.4. in such other circumstances as the Authority considers
appropriate.57. Registrationofsingleraceleasingarrangement57.1. WhereahorseisleasedtoaPersonforoneraceonly
57.1.1. the leasingarrangementmustberegistered if thehorse is tobe
enteredorruninthatrace,and57.1.2. the registration must take place on or before the day which
precedes that onwhich thehorse is declared to run in the raceunderPart(F)6.
57.2. NosingleraceleasingarrangementmayberegisteredunlessitisapprovedbytheAuthority.
57.3. AnapplicationforregistrationunderthisRulemustbe
57.3.1. madeusingthePrescribedform,and57.3.2. senttotheAuthority,togetherwiththeappropriatefeespecified
inSchedule(A)1.

57.4. Indeterminingwhethertoapproveanapplication,theAuthoritymayhaveregardtosuchmattersasitmayconsiderappropriate.
57.5. Ifitdecidestoapprovetheapplication57.5.1. the Authoritymay register the single race leasing arrangement
subject to such restrictions or conditions as it considersappropriate,and
57.5.2. theregistrationshallbecomeeffectivefromthebeginningofthedayfollowingthedayofapproval.
57.6. In relation to any horse subject to a single race leasing arrangement,
referencesintheseRulestothehorse'sowneraretothelesseeorlesseesunderthearrangement.
58. RegistrationofleasingandotherjointarrangementsnotwithinRule
42,48,53or5758.1. ThisRuleapplieswhereahorseissubjecttoaleaseorotherarrangement
whichdoesnotfallwithintheprecedingprovisionsofthisChapter.
58.2. Any such lease or arrangementmust be registered if the horse is to beenteredorruninaraceundertheseRules.
58.3. RegistrationunderthisRuleextendsonlytothehorseinquestion(and,ifthere ismore thanonehorse, separate registration is required for eachhorse).
58.4. The registration takes effect immediately once all of the conditions forinitialregistrationspecifiedinRule59havebeenmet,butthisissubjecttothe requirement to renew registration under Rule 60 and to anycancellationofregistrationunderRule63.
58.5. Whereahorse58.5.1. isenteredforaracebeforeitbecomessubjecttoaleaseorother
arrangementwithinParagraph58.1,and58.5.2. runs in that race before the lease or other arrangement is
registered,
thehorseisliabletobedisqualifiedunderRule(A)66(seeGround7).58.6. TheAuthoritymaypublishsuchinformationasitconsidersappropriatein
respectofanyleaseorotherarrangementregisteredunderthisRule.59. Conditionsforinitialregistration59.1. NoleaseorotherarrangementfallingwithinRule58.1mayberegistered
unlessthefollowingconditionshavebeenmetinrelationtoit

59.1.1. notmorethantwelvePersonsaretorunthehorseunderthelease
orotherarrangement,59.1.2. eachofthosePersonsisregisteredinhisownrightunderChapter

60. Expiryandrenewalofregistrationofleaseorotherarrangement60.1. Any registration under Rule 58.1 expires at the end of each 12 month
periodthatstartsontheanniversaryoftheinitialregistration.
60.2. TheAuthoritymay,onanapplicationmadetoit,renewtheregistrationbutonlyif
60.2.1. it is satisfied that the requirements of Rule 59.1.1 and 59.1.2
continuetobemetinrelationtotheleaseorotherarrangement,and
60.2.2. it receivespaymentof theappropriate fee specified inSchedule(A)1.
61. Owner of horse and obligations of parties to lease or other
arrangement61.1. Inrelationtoanyhorsesubjecttoaleaseorotherarrangementregistered
underRule58,references intheseRulestothehorse'sowneraretothelesseeorlessees.

65.5. TheAuthoritymaydirectthattheregistrationofanOwner'sracingcoloursshallceasetobevalidinsuchcircumstancesasitconsidersappropriate.
65.6. An Owner whose horse is declared to run under Rule (F)50 withoutregistering colours in accordance with this Rule shall be taken to havecontravenedarequirementimposedonhimbythisRule.
65.7. WhereahorserunsincoloursotherthanthosepermittedbythisRule,theTrainerofthehorseshallalsobetakentohavecontravenedarequirementimposed on him by this Rule unless he or the Owner can satisfy theAuthority
65.7.1. thatthecircumstancesofthefailuretocarrytheregisteredcolours
fallwithinRule66,or65.7.2. thatthefailurewasduetocircumstancesoutsidetheirreasonable
control,
and,wheretheTrainerdoessatisfytheAuthoritythatthefailurewasthefaultoftheOwner,DisciplinaryActionmaybetakenagainsttheOwner.
65.8. TheAuthoritymaydecidenottotakeDisciplinaryActionagainstanOwner
for contravention of any of the requirements of this Rule if the ownersatisfiestheAuthoritythatthecircumstancesinwhichthecontraventionoccurredareacceptable.
66. Circumstancesinwhichuseofotherracingcoloursisrequired66.1. An Owner must declare alternative colours if asked to do so by the
AuthorityortheJudge.
66.2. IndecidingwhichOwnermustdeclarealternativecolourstheAuthorityortheJudge
66.2.1. may take into account the lengthof time the colourshavebeen
registered to the Owner, giving preference to the longer-establishedregistration,but
66.2.2. has absolute discretion over which colours are required to bechanged.
66.3. Where
66.3.1. anOwnerhasmorethanonehorserunninginthesamerace,or66.3.2. anOwner'shorsewillnotbecarryinghisFirstColoursinarace,
theOwnerortheTrainermustdeclarealternativecolourstotheAuthorityby1.00p.m.onthedayformakingdeclarationstorununderRule(F)50.

66.4. The alternative colours referred to in Paragraph 66.3.1 must, as a
minimum,haveadifferentcolouredcapwhich
66.4.1. isnotblack,and66.4.2. doesnotcontainacolourwhichappearsinthecapofthedeclared
colours for anyof thatOwner's otherhorses in the race, exceptwherethatcolourfeaturesonlyinastaroradiamond.
66.5. If the Owner or the Trainer fails to make the declaration required by
Paragraph 66.3 he must declare alternative colours to the Clerk of theScalesbeforetheriderweighsout.
66.6. Unless the change is at the Judge's request on the racecourse, thealternativecoloursmustnotbealreadyregisteredtoanotherOwnerunlesspermissionhasbeenobtained.
66.7. WherenodeclarationismadepursuanttoParagraph66.3above,orwhereahorserunsincoloursotherthanthosedeclaredunderParagraph66.3,DisciplinaryActionmaybetakenagainsttheTraineror,wheretheTrainersatisfies the Authority that the faultwas that of the Owner, against theOwner.
67. Circumstancesinwhichjoint-useofracingcoloursispermitted67.1. WhereracingcoloursarealreadyregisteredtoanOwner,ahorsemayalso
carrythosecolourswhilstrunningunderthenameofanotherOwnerif
67.1.1. the joint use of colours has been authorised in any of thecircumstancesspecifiedinParagraph67.2,67.3or67.4,and
67.1.2. the particulars of joint use have been registered with theAuthority.
67.2. Whereracingcoloursareregisteredinthenameofanindividual(B),Bmayauthorisejointuseofthemby
67.2.1. aRecognisedCompany,wherethehorseisownedbythecompany
andBisaRegisteredAgentforthecompany,67.2.2. aRacingClub,wherethehorseisownedbytheclubandBisaClub
Manager,67.2.3. aSyndicate,wherethehorseissubjecttotheSyndicateandBisa
SyndicatororamemberintheSyndicate,67.2.4. aPartnershipwherethehorseissubjecttothePartnershipandB
isaPartner,or67.2.5. aleaseorotherarrangementregisteredunderRule58,wherethe

68. ApplicationtotheAuthoritytoregisterracingcolours68.1. AnapplicationfortheregistrationofracingcoloursunderRule66.1must
be
68.1.1. madeusingthePrescribedform,68.1.2. senttotheAuthority’sOffice,and68.1.3. accompaniedbytheappropriatefeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1.
68.2. Ifitconsidersitappropriatetodoso,theAuthoritymaywaivesomeorall
oftheinstructionscontainedinthePrescribedforminrespectoftheOwnerofahorsewhosecoloursarealreadyregisteredwithaRecognisedRacingAuthority.
68.3. TheAuthoritymaydetermine
68.3.1. the colour shades and combinations that are available forregistration,
68.3.2. thefeaturesthatsufficientlydistinguishonesetofracingcoloursfromasimilarsetsoastoallowbothtoberegistered,
68.3.3. thecircumstancesinwhichre-registrationandtransfersofracingcoloursmaybepermitted,and
68.3.4. alldisputesastotherightstoparticularcolours.

72. Ownersgivinginstructionstoriders72.1. Any Owner or Registered Agent of a Recognised Company who gives
instructions to the rider of his horse must comply with Rule (C)38(securingthebestpossibleplacing)andis liabletodisciplinaryactioninthecircumstancessetoutinRule(C)38.4.
73. Restrictiononownerscompensatingriders73.1. AnOwnermustnot
73.1.1. givetotheRiderofhishorseanymaterialreward,gift,favourorbenefitinkindinrecognitionoftheconsequencetothatRiderofanyDisciplinaryActiontakenagainsthim,or
73.1.2. instructanotherpersontodosoonhisbehalf.74. AuthorisedagentsofanOwner74.1. ThisRule
74.1.1. appliestoanyOwnerwhosenameisregisteredintheregisterofOwners,but

74.3. WhereahorseissoldwithengagementstoanotherPerson,anyagentofthesellerappointedinaccordancewiththisRuleshallberegardedastheAuthorisedAgentofthepurchaserbutonlyinrespectofentrieswhichhavealreadybeenmade,butwhicharenotclosed,atthetimeofsale.
74.4. Registration of an agent appointed in accordance with this Rule shallimmediatelyceasetobevalidif
74.4.1.1. theagent'sappointmentiscancelledbyhimorbythe
owner,74.4.1.2. thepaymentof theannual fee is inarrearsbymore
than14days,or74.4.1.3. theAuthoritygivesadirectionunderParagraph74.6.
74.5. The Authority may, in such circumstances as it considers appropriate,
direct that the registration of the document appointing the agent inaccordancewiththisRuleshallceasetobevalid.
75. Owner'ssponsorshipagreements75.1. OnanapplicationmadetoitunderthisRuleandinaccordancewiththe
Code of Conduct, the Authority may approve and register an Owner'ssponsorship agreement in such circumstances, and subject to suchrestrictionsorconditionsasitconsidersappropriate.
75.2. An Ownermay apply for approval by sending a copy of the agreementtogetherwiththeapplicationfeespecifiedinSchedule(A)1.
75.3. If the Authority decides to approve the application it may register thesponsorshipagreementsubjecttosuchrestrictionsorconditions,andforsuchperiod,asitconsidersappropriate.

Schedule3–Trainer-owneragreements1. Requirementforagreement1.1. ThisScheduleapplies to theownerofanyhorsewhich is trainedby the
LicensedTrainer.
1.2. WhereaLicensedTraineristotrainahorseownedbyanyPerson,heandthe ownermust enter into a training agreement in respect of thehorsebeforeitrunsinanyracerunundertheseRules.
1.3. TheAuthoritymaydeterminenottotakeDisciplinaryActionagainstanyowner who fails to comply with Paragraph 1.1 if he can satisfy theAuthoritythattherewasanacceptablereasonforthefailure.
2. Formofagreement2.1. Atrainingagreementmustbesignedandmustsetoutthetermsagreed
betweenthepartiesinrespectofatleastthefollowing
2.1.1. thebasictrainingfee(expressedasanamountpayablebyweekorbycalendarmonth);
2.1.2. allotherregularexpenses(suchasgallopfees,shoeingcostsandthelike);
2.1.3. the extent of the Licensed Trainer's authority to incur anyadditionalchargesorexpensesfortheaccountoftheowner(suchasveterinaryfees);
2.1.4. provision for variation to be made as to any of the mattersspecifiedinParagraphs2.1.1to2.3.1andforpropernotificationofvariation;
2.1.5. thetimeandmethodofpaymentbytheowner;2.1.6. anyprovisionforaTrainer'slien;2.1.7. anymatterastotrainingagreementswhichisrequiredbyacode
ofconductissuedunderRule52;and2.1.8. suchothermattersastheAuthoritymayfromtimetotimedirect.
3. Durationofagreement3.1. Atrainingagreementshalllapseif
3.1.1. the owner does not have a horse in trainingwith the LicensedTrainerforacontinuousperiodof24months,
3.1.2. theTrainerhasceasedtoholdalicencegrantedbytheAuthority,or
3.1.3. either party to the agreement gives the otherwritten notice oftermination.
4. Reportbylicensedtrainerofnon-paymentoffeesetc

4.1. Payment period, in relation to any account due, means the period of 3monthsbeginningwiththedateonwhichtheaccountwassent.
4.2. Where,beforetheendofthepaymentperiod,aLicensedTrainerdoesnotreceivefromtheownerfullsettlementofanyaccountdueunderatrainingagreement entered into in accordance with this Schedule, the LicensedTrainermayreportthemattertotheAuthority.
5. Consequencesofnon-payment5.1. Where the Authority sends a notice to the owner that a report of non-
paymenthasbeenmadebythetrainer,theownermust
5.1.1. makethepaymentdue,or5.1.2. provide to theAuthorityawrittenexplanation fornon-payment
thatisacceptabletotheAuthority,beforetheendoftheperiodof8daysstartingonthedatethenoticewasreceived.
5.2. IftheownerfailstocomplywithParagraph6.1
5.2.1. thetotalamountdue(andanyVATpayable)shallbetakentobearrearsdueundertheseRules,and

1.1. EveryOwner or ownership groupmust register a unique name style to
assistintheadministrationofracing.Itisthisnamethatwillbeusedwhenentriesandlistsofrunnersarepublished.
1.2. ThefollowingnamesthatapplytoallcategoriesofownershipinChapters2and3arenotavailableforregistration:
1.2.1. names already on the register, compiled andmaintained by the
Authority;1.2.2. namesofmorethan40characters,includingsignsorspaces;or1.2.3. namesofwhichtheAuthorityconsidersaretoosimilartoaname
ontheregister.
1.3. ThefollowingrestrictionappliestoSoleOwnersasprovidedforinRule32:
1.3.1. names of which the Authority are satisfied that the personconcerned is better known publically by their assumed, screen,stageorpennamethantheirrealname.
1.4. The following restrictions apply to companies, Syndicates, Racing Clubs
andPartnershipsasprovidedforinChapters2and3:
1.4.1. anamewhichtheAuthorityconsiders
1.4.1.1. is suggestive or has a vulgar, obscene orinsultingmeaning;
1.4.1.2. maybeoffensivetoreligions,politicalorethnicgroups;
1.4.1.3. isinpoortaste;1.4.1.4. tobe inappropriateuseofnamesmadeupof
internetsiteaddresses;1.4.1.5. mayotherwisecauseoffence;1.4.1.6. maycauseconfusion in theadministrationof
racingorbetting;or1.4.1.7. isthenameofaprominentCompany,Product
or Trade except where registered for thatCompanyorBodyAssociation.
1.5. TheAuthoritymayrefusetoacceptorcancelanyregistrationasprovided
forinRule(A)21.

arrangementsregisteredasaSyndicatewhere
1.1.1. the arrangement is managed, administered or promoted by aSyndicatorwhoreceivespayment,inrelationtotheirrole,and/or
1.1.2. the method(s) of attracting participation in the arrangementincludeinvitationstothepublic,whetherbywayofadvertisementorotherwise.
1.2. The Syndicator must ensure that at the time of commencement of the
Syndicateandthroughoutitsduration,thereisawrittencontractbetweenthe Syndicator and the participantswhich addresses and identifies, butmaynotbelimitedto,thefollowingmatters:
1.2.1. the express acknowledgement from the participant/s that
membership of the Syndicate may not necessarily provide afinancialreturn;
1.2.2. the intended duration of the Syndicate, the mechanism for itstermination and the methods and conditions (if any) by whichparticipants may leave the Syndicate other than on finaltermination;
1.2.3. whether the horse(s) is wholly owned by the participants orwhetherthehorseissubjecttoaleaseorotherarrangement;
1.2.4. thenumberofhorsesinvolvedintheSyndicate,theproportionateinterestintheSyndicateofeachparticipantandtheirrightsof(orlackof)tosell,lease,transferorassigntheirshare/s;
1.2.5. thecostofparticipationforeachparticipantandwhethersuchcostisfixedorsusceptibletoalteration;
1.2.6. the details and/or means of calculating and paying anyremuneration to be received by the Syndicator and any thirdparties;
1.2.7. a full financial statement for the Syndicate and the process bywhichanyfinancialsurplusordeficitwillbecreditedorchargedtotheparticipantsintheSyndicate;
1.2.8. thetimeatwhichandprocedurebywhichthestatement(s)oftheSyndicate'scostsrecoveredandexpenditurewillbepresentedtotheparticipants.Suchstatement(s)shallbeexclusiveorinclusiveof GST as appropriate depending upon the GST status of theSyndicate;
1.2.9. whetherandinrespectofwhichrisksthehorse(s)willbeinsuredand whether the participants of the Syndicate are thebeneficiaries;
1.2.10. whetherthehorse(s)willbeinitiallytrainedbyanamedtrainer;and

1.2.11. theprocessbywhichtheSyndicatemakesanydecisionsrelatingtothemanagement,training,andtimeandmethodofsaleofthehorse(s).
1.3. ThisCodeofConductdoesnotpurporttodictatethetermsofthematters
setoutatParagraph1.2,onlythattheyaremattersthataretobeagreedattheoutsetofaSyndicate.Eachcontractbetween theSyndicatorand theparticipantsinthatSyndicatemustcontainmateriallyidenticaltermsonthematterssetoutinParagraph1.2.
1.4. EachparticipantintheSyndicateshouldbeawarethattheyareboundbytheRulesofRacing.ParticularattentionshouldbedrawntothoseRulesprohibitingthesharingofInsideInformation(Rule(A)29).
Note:InallcasesitistheresponsibilityoftheparticipantintheSyndicateoncomplaintofafailuretocomplywiththisCodeofConducttoprovidetotheAuthoritytheevidencewhichtheAuthorityconsidersnecessarytosupportthatallegation.
