A is for Amur Leopard B is for Bornean Orangutan

The Amur Leopard are a beautiful tiger breed with lots nice spots! Sadly in the world right now there is an average of only 70 adult Amur leopards living. This species has just a little size difference between male and female. There is only about 12-20 lbs between both. They are from Russia and other Countries over near there so chances you seeing one in your backyard well good luck.

• Try and say this name. Born-eeee-an-o-rang-aaa-tang. The Bornean Orangutan is a gorilla species. This gorilla like species have known to been very highly intelligent. They have been spotted using a spear to try and catch food. The only time that the male and female will come together is for mating. A huge percentage of the deaths of the animal belong to humans!

C is for cross river gorilla D is for Dhole

• This gorilla sure does cross a lot of rivers.☺ This animal has been an official animal for 112 years! Sadly there are a lower number of them as they are Critically endangered. If you dare to threaten this animal they will fight back and you can easily die.

Looks like a fox? Maybe a wolf, actually a combination of the two actually! They are one of the most social wolf foxes breed! Remember how they were a mix well unlike the wolf and fox the Dhole doesn’t howl or bark at all. They have red fur and are pretty funny looking. They are currently endangered but have been close to CR (critically endangered).

E is for Eastern Lowland Gorilla G is for Gharial

• Another gorilla this is the 3rd one out of six in this book! The female will end up being pregnant for 8 ½ months then giving birth. They breastfeed for 3 years! Some times you’ll find 2 or 3 living together some times 25-26 you never know how much will be in each group. They weigh about 500 lbs! Do you know the gorilla Harambe well he was a Western Lowland Gorilla.

• One of the longest living crocodiles to ever live, not by age but length and size. The longest living Gharial ever recorded was 20.5 feet! That’s bigger than a whale no its not actually the whales tongue is probably bigger. The Gharial is cold blooded! There is an average of 235 Gharials left.

F is for Fishing Cat The Fishing Cat isn’t terribly endangered but may be soon. This species is not very native to north America, however they are very native to Asia. They only live up to ten years… that’s not very long. January is a very important time for the fishing cat because that is there mating month and early February! This animal is like a larger and much stronger cat then your one at home.

H is for Hawksbill Turtle J is for Javan Rhinoceros

• I could be cousins with this animal Hawksbill Canyon Hawkes. Now this animal is very kept to themselves as they stay to in caves and hangout on ledges! People who study the ocean or this particular sea animal have little information about this species. They range as far as the Gulf of Mexico. “Jump the hurdles to save the turtles.” Canyon2k17!

• Why do humans have to be so cruel? One of the main reasons of this animal being CR is Vietnam. Vietnam was a war back in the day. That went on for 20 years! Due to that war the Javan Rhinoceros lost a lot of habitat. Now sometimes people go out and shoot this species for fun. They live to 30-45 years actually, if not shot…. The animal has no predator, oh wait yea its us.

K is for Kakapo L is for Lion

• These guys have had a rough ride. You know the song abc 123? Well it relates to them this is about 123 of them approximately left in the world! These species have actually almost been extinct before. They still have to time to react. They just became CR this past summer.

• When I say these facts about the Lion trust me ill tell the truth. Have you ever been to the Moncton zoo before if so you’ve probably seen this animal before. Lions are not always a huge threat to humans but will attack if threatened. They will tend to live to 15-20 years but that depends on injuries. This species likes to rest during the day and frolic during the night.

M is for Mountain Gorilla N is for North Atlantic Right Whale

• Another gorilla gorilla…. Woohoo!!!! There is not a specific mountain that live on and yes they have touched the ground before so don’t get twisted up in the name. These gorillas are special they were made with thick and longer skin keeping them warm! They are a very loud and out there animal. “Don’t kill the gorilla it will be a thrilla.” Canyon 2k17

• Another endangered animal thanks to us. These guys eat krill though that’s bad…. Even though there are 6 billion krill average. 98% of deaths of this species between 1970-2000 are owned by humans. 2.6 of them were ship attacks. They tend to stay close to the surface so it makes them an easy target to kill.

P is for Proboscis Monkey Q is for Quokka

• Big, Loud and funny looking, my favorite one yet! Proboscis Monkeys usually will tend to stay in a 1 kilometer or 0.62137miles range. Ok this fact is weird when they mate they are not always successful! Both males and females will give threat noises but both are different. They are one of Asia’s biggest monkeys!

• Please just take a look at this animal. They kind of look like a small beaver kangaroo! They are very native to smaller islands off Australia actually. Sad fact: Australia has some of the biggest and worst snakes in the world and they tend to snack on the quokka. The Quokka have very little fear of humans. They even take a picture with you.

R is for Red Panda S is for Snow Leopard

• The Red Panda is very interesting because its name has panda in it and well its not a panda. It has a few main predators the Snow Leopard, Martains a Canadian native animal and humans. The Red Panda is known to be excellent tree climbers. They also eat bamboo kind of like a panda. They will mate with other partners sometimes.

• Real name - Snow Leopard vs Scientific name – Uncia Uncina. The fur on their back is about 5 inches thick that’s about the size of a 6 inch sub! China holds 20% of humanity and 60% of this animal. The Snow Leopard is actually one of the smaller big cats breed.

T is for Tiger U is for Urial

• I was shocked to see the Tiger here then I read the facts. In the world as of right now there are actually more Tigers as pets than there is in the wild! The Tiger will hunt alone at night. They are massive if you’ve ever seen one I guarantee they were bigger than you. They are the biggest cat species in the world! This is my favorite fact yet. They can swim 6 kilometers with out stopping or 3.72823 miles ☺ .

• There are very similar animals at the zoo. They are found in country like Iran, Kazakhstan and Asia. In the 9th month September is the official month for mating. Almost every single male Urial will have very large horns! They have a very lighter Reddish-Brown fur that makes there skin kind of look like a sandy tone☺ .

V is for Vaquita W is for Whale

2015-Fewer then 100 Vaquita’s left. Now-Less than 60 Vaquita’s living! • The worlds most rare marine animal is

Critically Endangered! A very big and sad result of the Vaquita’s deaths has led to fishing nets. They are not the biggest fish in the sea, they only weigh 120 pounds average! The average human weighs more than that!

• The Whale’s tongue weighs about the same maybe even a little bit more than the African Elephant! When a Blue Whale dives in, it’s head is already deeper than a diver would dare go! This species can possibly or most likely be longer than house. The blue whale is the largest animal to ever be discovered!

X is for X-tinct Y is for Yellow Eyed Penguin

• X-Tinct means that there are none left or are all gone. There are a lot of animals that are endangered and sadly some are X-Tinct. The very famous dinosaur is X-Tinct. We have to make sure that we keep animals from going X-Tinct or its going to affect us to!

• The Yellow Eyed Penguin, you’d think they live in the North Pole or somewhere cold well you’ve guessed absolutely wrong. They live in the New Zealand! They are not to big only average 12-18lbs. This Penguin lives for 15-20 years!

Z is for Zebra Shark• Predator’s? *Larger sharks and of course humans* They’ll gain

energy from eating fishcrabs and snails. They’re nocturnal and that means they sleep during the day and are awake at night! They will tend to stay near tropical water. Another name for the Zebra Shark is the Leopard shark!
