The target for the knowledge based

economy

In order to ensure the knowledge transfer in any field at least four targets have to be reached :

Decision makers both at central and local level, as well as technical officers of the public administration who have the authority to make decisions and fund activities related to the introduction of new rules and new technology

Universities which need to prepare professionals able to design, adapt and adopt the most suitable technological solution or to modify existing process in order to introduce the technology

Technical Institutes/Schools which will be instrumental on building, operating and, above all, maintaining plants and run processes

Enterprises which need to introduce new technologies and rules into their processes.

The European framework for education and capacity

building

Bologna Process which is a pledge by 29 countries to reform the structures of their higher education systems in a convergent way

Copenhagen Declaration of the European Ministers of Vocational Education and Training, and the European Commission, convened in Copenhagen on 29 and 30 November 2002, on enhanced European cooperation in vocational education and training
